Part of Money game Part 2 (starting from She sells sea shells) was taken and memed by someone, you can youtube it "luigi talks about sea shells" . I'm pretty sure Ren's hand movement is a reference to it. That meme kind of brought a bunch of views to Money Game part 2, hence "Pinnacle of your success".
Anyways, I'm so happy that there are lots of people reacting "Hi Ren" and bringing more organic traffic to it!

That said, I think Hi Ren has a more meaningful and important message, if one looks at such things. Both are masterworks of their generation.

I don't know why, but the partial yodel at the beginning that is more subdued and the final yodel that is untethered makes me think of a caged bird's song that is beaten and worn down, without hope of ever flying free because the cage is all he knows. By the end the cage is open and the bird soars into the sky singing at the top of his lungs, full of hope, no longer constrained by sadness.
It literally gives me a picture in my brain. The music on its own, without words, tells a story. Amazing artistry. The most profound works of art are based in human misery, human spirit and resilience. Truly.

Found Ren three months ago and haven't stopped looking for his music he is a force of nature so diverse from old school hip hop (what you want) to ballads and deep lyrics that make you think laugh and cry so so talented.

Very rare a real talent will come along with a uniqueness that stands out with a glow only a star has. I am a HOG fan and Tom will always be my number one BUT this guy has my total respect because the talent is beyond mere words. His songs The Jenny and Screech Tale (full version) along with Chalk Outlines and Crutch are worth every second. Another independent who can rap rap, sing, act, story-tell, write and play almost any instrument you give him is absolutely priceless. I love this artist and he has seriously earned the title ARTIST. Awesome reaction. I’ve listened to this so many times and it hits hard every time. Watch it again so you can appreciate it even more. Initially he is defensive and argues with his “shadow” side and tries to make it see reason. It escalates because no matter what you can’t out talk your own inner shit talker. Once he gets that there is no obliterating this shit talker without obliterating himself, he begins integration ; the acceptance of one’s darkness as well as the light. You hear it in the second “hi Ren”… I feel like this is when he accepts that light means dark, inside means outside, up means down… and that he has to accept the dark sides of himself and his experience in order to reach the light. And he acts and sings and plays it out to its fullest. So much in this video. I just love him.

It's hard for any artist, I think, to get past that voice in their head saying 'You're unoriginal, you're a hack.' But real talk, if the first person to ever write about a certain thing OWNED that basic idea, and it meant that no one could ever do it again, even from a completely different angle, there would only be like twelve novels in the history of the world. Nothing is original anymore. You can't say anything that hasn't been said a million times. It's all in HOW you say it.

Great summation. Welcome to exploring the rabbit warRen that is Ren's world. He's become a Warrior of Light against the Darkness, as he prophesised aged 17 and opened a Portal which is allowing people to step into the Light, exploring themselves and the human psyche and having discussions, revealing their own "flaws" and vulnerabilities where before it felt so unsafe with such stigma attached apart from to only a handful of those closest to us and our therapist's/medicators. So many songs to recommend - Chalk Outlines (with the amazing Chincilla) is a personal favourite and is beautiful, as is How to be Me. Suffering myself from double depression, depersonalization, anxiety disorder and a chronical pain disorder (e.g. 20+ days with headaches / month) for decades by now I feel so connected to Ren and this masterful piece of art he created and gave us. I wish I could hear the hope side stronger or at all. But he gives hope to hear hope some day.

You can also check out chalk oulines, insomnia , humble , diazapam, gensis , the three stories someone here in the comments posted the order and to do them in one sitting, money game series. Everytime it's another completely different tune with insane talent in either rapping , lyrics , guitar , singing , storytelling, compoaition or more commonly all of the above. Generational talent is an understatement as a description for ren.
Best part is I'm pretty sure this was filmed live. The masterful guitar playing, the voice modulation between the two Rens, this isn't something you can record in a studio and then go lip-sync a music video for it. I think you can see the microphone attached to his gown collar. Which means he filmed this whole thing live in one shot. That's unbelievable. And it's so uniquely HIM. No one can cover this, how could or would they?
It's cool how at the end of the song Ren apparently accepts and welcomes his bad side as he has risen above the evil that he sometimes feels.

Yea after much analysis I think the schizophrenia assumption was a bit off-as many people explained to me 😂😂 and yes most people have an internal monologue or "voice" so you're normal lol

my connection to this song is only the similarity of struggle,,
i'm undiagnosed autistic and have struggled with being a bit weird my whole life i had to start my own business because i had problems holding a job with sleep disorders and high ethics.. but managed to stay in business the last 40 years without needing to advertise or even carry a card, i run a lawn and tree service, a 1st responder thru 40 years of hurricanes in fla ,and do all phases of construction and kind of an inventor on the side, after six years of development i figured out a disaster response product that could help millions worldwide .. then my insurance agent forgot to post a payment back in 2020 and the state took everything i worked the last 40 years for away .. stuck at home like a prisoner i came online and saw people helping others so i started making videos explaining what i was. trying to do to get help, and found out if the platform your uploading to doesn't promote you your just talking to your phone, and then i see stuff like this and get jealous because i will never write a song that gets peoples attn like this. so my chances of bringing my ideas to the world are fading. and it's scary as hell to think of all that could be, but it may all be lost because one person forgot to hit enter on there keyboard.. and my chances of succeeding alone are close to those of getting out of quicksand alone..
A true story teller, a master of his craft. He's reached so far deep into our minds and hearts. His way of hooking and gripping you till the end. I absolutely adore this piece. And share it with anyone i come into contact with. Because we all are human beings with these struggles. And i hope with the right words most will be able to relax and take that deep shakey breath and know its going to be okay.

Schizophrenia doesn't have anything to do with the concept of multiple personalities.
It is an information processing disorder. It can cause auditory hallucinations; hearing voices is a commonly experienced symptom.
Someone suffering such symptoms might describe feeling constantly harassed, and taunted by that harassment. This can become quite distressing, as I'm sure anyone can understand. A sufferer might start to verbally respond to the 'voices', yell at them to "stop", I have known someone who would repeatedly do this.
I am sure that it is this specific behavior that causes the multiple personalities myth to be so pervasive.
Schizophrenia generally responds well to medication, and so with treatment many people can get on with only being stressed out by the same stuff as everyone else usually is.
You have to understand this brought me and many many many people to tears listening to it it is beyond anything I have heard or listened to in this day and age it is raw is real it is and so show it will always be cuz you can't get rid of it it will not die he lives in the internet forever and it is powerful

Theory Idea here: The lights are very interesting in the video. If you notice whenever they flicker, it's when the Dark side of him is in control of his body. When the lights are stable, His normal self has control. Knowing that, the video ends with Ren putting up a great fight, but ultimately having his body taken by the devil, but his soul going to heaven.
Key points: Notice when the back and fourth gets super heated between both sides, his dark side eventually just completely shuts his normal side down, and then goes into the whole speech about him essentially being the devil, or evil. The lights are going insane at this part. After the devil bit, the lights go stable, normal Ren regains control of his body, and pours his heart and soul about life, and basically says that no matter what happens, hope will carry me through, essentially his last breath. It ends with him singing the intro Oh's again, but this time the lights are flickering like crazy again. I think this symbolizes this Ren character fighting, but loosing his body/life to the devil. But his soul going to heaven.
Another point: When he's 100% done singing, he unplugs the guitar, like a doctor would unplug a live saving machine, and rests the guitar in front of the wheel chair. As if resting a body in a casket. He then goes into a eulogy about himself/ or the deceased Ren.
That's just my theory on the video. I could be 100% wrong. Either way the video is amazing, and the man is mad talented.

the battle gents is with the subconscious not split personalities, often called Satan, there is no human alive or that has ever lived without this voice inside, you also have it, sometimes it guides you into bad things and sometimes it also protects you. go on just one more and voila guilt sets in, and other times the voice says , dont do that or dont go that way, and voila something bad happens and you just avoided it.
