  • There are two secret drivers in the Japan-only SNES F1 game F1 Grand Prix Part III that are not normally accessible from the free agents/spare drivers in the game's driver change feature, and one of them is an active driver from the 1993 season.
To unlock them, go to "Original" (the custom team editor menu), select face 1 (upper most left) and 2 (upper middle left) as your drivers, then input "A.セナ" and "N.ピケ" (the dots must be on the bottom, not center) as the name for the first and second driver respectively and set all ratings to maximum (all other parameters are optional). If done properly, you will hear "F1 Grand Prix!" voice clip from the title screen when you confirm to save changes. Their English names, "A. SENNA" and "N. PIQUET" should appear in the pause standings, instead of "TEAM MATE". Yes indeed, Ayrton Senna (who is mostly missing from 1993 and 1994 season F1 games) and Nelson Piquet (who retired at the end of 1991) are secret drivers in this game.
Recorded using bsnes 1.1.5. Sorry for the long time it needed to input Piquet's katakana name.
Original source for the cheat: w.atwiki.jp/sf... (Japanese)
Also a sidenote, the default team name (ヤネノシダ, "Yane no Shita") appears to be a reference to 1993-1997 J-dorama called "Hitotsu Yane no Shita" (lit. "Under One Roof"). Also if you use MrRichard999's translation patch (which does not boot on my version of bsnes for some reason), use "A.SE" for 1st driver and "N.PI" for 2nd driver.
