The best advice I think I was ever given (which may or may not work for everyone) is to move fast. If you spend too much time working on one thing your ears start playing tricks on you. And I've found this to be true. I used to spend all day, sometimes more on mixes and they'd end up sounding like trash. My mixes got way better since I stopped spending so much time on each task.
Anyone else have the same, or similar experience?
facts
right, some people are able to do things slowly and meticulously and have good results, but for the creatives like you n me, we do better "capturing the moment." then we have to take little breaks often as to not get too involved and obsessed with small details, aka lost in the rabbit hole.
yes, whenever i record and then decide on continuing the next day, my voice sounds different and i forget how far or loud i was on the mic lol
Bro FACTS ONLY
30 minutes at a time over 3 days and it's done
That’s a good sounding singer on that hook baby! 🤗🤗🤗😏😏 lol 😘😘😘😘
She’s not too bad looking either. 😜

Man I’ve been recording myself for a while now and getting better everyday by following your advice. The day I put a album out, your influence will be all over the mix 💯🙏🏽

MUCH NEEDED TUTORIAL I WAS SO LOST ON VOLUME AND MIX LEVELS. APPRECIATE THIS WAVY
I got you fam.
I have to drop this comment.... you are THE ONLY person I have seen who teaches on RUclips who actually has FIRE 🔥 music. These other guys just teaching us by their own song sound WHACK AF. Big Up for real. Tired of being taught by people who have terrible songs for real.
there are many other RUclips Producers that teach with amazing music too
Yo bro! I freaking love your positivity! Good job brotha!
Thanks needed this i like the way you explain the two different output ceilings for the limiters. Fantastic 💯
Big ups, wavy Wayne. Thank you for all the insight. Truly a blessing.
Learning a lot Wavy. Thank you.
Really really dope, informational video as always. And shoutout to Lydia, she snapped, that song crazy 🔥

Yoooo @@waynewav i DM u on IG with an important question hmu 😂
BRNbenji is my ig
@@waynewav so u can put limiters on your mix before you send it to the person who is gonna Master it??
Fantastic to know. Thanks.
You are definitely correct!!
Man, this guy's got some charisma. Subbed.
Been dealing with bronchitis, this is exactly what I needed! A new Wavy vid! 🔥

@@waynewav thanks my brother

You had me on limp soft recordings haha

Sounding generous bruh..Radio ready💯💯💯Great tips
Thanks fam!
wavy stay with the drip on the keys ..salute the general wave
New sub. Thanks for the tip bro, that track is jammin too
Congratulations on the new intro 😍🔥
I use a couple EQ’s in between my master plug in’s to keep the final mix sound louder but the same as the original mix down (EQs between master plug ins )plus also it gives the overall sound of the song a little spice to it crispy highs n mids
CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS CHANNEL TO HIT 200K!!!
Second limiter is the real sauce bro... great tutorial
💯💯
Thanks Mr Wayne 👍
You're always on time
always appreciate
This man's a legend 🙌
💯
Thx broooo!
Really dope video thank you. You guided me. I watch the whole video as I was doing what you did and it came out perfect. Do you add your plug ins after you lay down the whole beat or in the process of making your beat
Great video
Basically if it’s quiet with with details and bump having that head rooms helps so much!!!
This song sounds 🔥🔥🔥
Bro you are so much help, I salute to you bruh🫡
The L2 adds brightness as well.
GOD BLESS YOU 💯
FFS. I love you. Haven't had waves in years... almost forgot how vital it is.
Muh boy always working on a BANGER! Who dat?
It’s me, his wife! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 thanks!
Lhhh 🙅🏾♂️🧢 this her best song I’ve heard shit hard n it ain’t even the whole clip🔥
This song makes me grin.
Yo Wavy.....Looks like a MASTERING TEMPLATE iz on da way huh? 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yup
@@waynewav definitely going to need that
Wavy way🔥🔥🔥🔥
This one bout to hit fosho
I use the NLS bus summer fr boosting master . 2 limiters is really good. Parallel compression wit that g bus comp is a good tool too
Let's goooo!
The song SLAP.!! 🔥
I like to use a soft clipper instead of a limiters cause I feel they change the dynamics a little where as the soft clipper rounds off the peaks which make it sound more transparent but great video bro keep up the good work
Right on fam. I’ll check those out ok!
What soft clip plugin(s) do you like/use?
@@nateedmondsmusic T racks soft clipper
I bought that and it works very well. Thx so much for this comment.
@@nateedmondsmusic no doubt bro if u can subscribe to my channel
Dope💯💯💯
That song fire
I usually use a compressor on the master to squeeze the dynamics a bit more to get me louder when I use the Gain knob and thats all I basically use, maybe ill try a limiter to bring some volume never thought of that cuz I master my own tracks so I tend to have my levels peaking at -3db and importing it into Ozone 9 to get more volume on the maximizer after tweaking some other stuff.
Ur videos done made me a monster‼️‼️‼️ wanna send u one of my mixes
🔥🔥💯
Don’t talk to me like that in that intro 🤣! But yeah. Yeah I do 🤣
DA SAUCE MANEEE 🙏🏽🙏🏽
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Like the commercial too by the way @Wayne.wav !!!
Nuff Respect
good MIX!!! Mix is very important! 2- Master ......
This is awesome! you should rate and review the Klark Teknik - 2A , its a budget friendly 2A going for like $290 and its being talked about in the industry but not many videos on it! They also make a 1176 for same price.
Finalyyyyy
thanks I've been watching all your videos and this has helped tremendously
Thanks for the great video! Do you additionally use compressors and limiters an all tracks of the mix? and then you put the ones explained in the video on your master track, export the mix and then master your exported wav file in a new project by adding another limiter/compressor for the final touch right?
Damn, the non processed version sounds good
🏆📈
squeeze the limit lov ya bruuuh
What do you check the levels with after you add the master bus processing? Do you check the VU again? If so, what does the VU read after you add all that stuff?
I see you have the Kali in 8 v2,how do you like them compared to Adams,Focal. The new Focal Twin Evo and the Kali in 8 v2 ,may look at Kali new sub if needed to go with the Kali in 8 v2.Thank you and continue the great work with the videos. So far this is what I'm trying to decide on.I would like your opinion on those monitors and the overall best choice.
Can you do a video on LUFS and where we should aim for? I notice steaming platforms end up turning my mixes down and still being quieter than other releases even what my mix is at -10 LUFS. Very helpful video though thank you! Going to start using more than 1 limiters on my master chain going forward
In Wayne we trust 🙏🏾
💯💯
heavy facts
I have pro tools 8 still lol I like it do you have template sessions for LE versions
I know this is tricky - but if I use this approach on the Master Bus without overdoing things can I still then send to Landr or professional mastering? Or should I avoid this process period if I'm sending to mastering service? P.S. I absolutely needed this in this stage of learning. I've learned volumes from ya!
Hey Man ❤️
What do you charge for mastering per song, do you have any package deals and how many days for each song?
@wayne.wav always droppin so much knowledge! 💪 What s the name of the song by the way?
Bruh them first 4 seconds took me out!!!!! 😂😂😂
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯❤❤❤ DAMN FAMMMMMMMMMM WAVYWAINE GETING IT I HAVE PROTOOLS 1 on m audio 192/4 air you helping a lot imma do a shout out to you on RUclips and on my next live on Facebook imma do a shout out from what I've learned
Dope video man, What LUFS levels should you aim for?
It depends where u want to put out your song. I think the best levels for spotify is something between -14 db lufs
How apply this method for streaming? what about the ISP (enter sample peaks)? thanks man
What EQ plug-in do you use and also what delay plug-in did you use on your sends.
💯
what type of gear did you record this song through , it sounds too clean!
How do mess with the VU meter to be at the setting you keep it at again? Looking at this again to get that cause I love the analog look and feel and it make more sense
Wavy
When adding the limiters was it part of the mastering stage just to get that overall loudness? or was it before mastering. if so, how much headroom would i need before mastering?
-6 DB
Could you do a video about mastering for streaming services and how they react to masters?
get YouLean Loudness Meter for free and analyze your master or use as vst in masterchain. Get your master anywhere from -14 to -10 Lufs Integrated rougly. Gonna have to use a limiter to get it there. Use a True Peak limiter and set your ceiling to at least -1dbTruePeak. Other than that, make sure your tonal balance is correct with eq and make sure dynamics and punch are good by using compression or expansion to glue your mix together or make the dynamics pop
✌🏼
