Honestly nobody really thought the Vikings had it this year except for hopeful Vikings fans. Not anything to be ashamed about, 31 teams wont reach the championship, but this year showed perfectly that the Vikings HAVE the talent. Darnold is a mid to low tier QB despite what people want to believe, the fact that the Vikings got as many wins as they did with him is a testement to the talent. Next year I think you're going to see more improvement with some decent free agent signings and a good draft as well as obviously having JJ (The QB not the WR) back next year. Excited to see the NFC North next year as their young QB's progress and see if Goff can continue playing as well as he has shown he can this year
Until the last two games, Darnold performed this year as a top tier QB. His excellent play had a lot to do with Minnesota's initially outstanding 14 - 2 record. But these last two very poorly played games may have exposed him. And for his career he may very well turn out to be what you suggest he is: Just a mid tier QB.
Been a fan of the Vikings since 1968. Lived through four lost Super Bowls, 41-0, and I lived in NYC at the time. But I haven't been this embarrassed in a long time. KOC is a terrible play caller in big games. The OL was a set of traffic cones. Darnold was horrific. Awful. Just awful. I think I'll find other things to do on game days next season. I've had enough. After all these years, I've just had enough.
Just a matter of time the old sam came back. He was a backup last year and on his 4th team for a reason. Crumbled under the bright lights in the biggest moments. Struggles with accuracy, processing, reading defenses and poise. Big arm is not enough.
I agree. When he looks bad, he looks REALLY bad. Goff had one of his worst games this year against the Vikings, but he kept it together. Same thing with the Texans game. Darnold seems to fold and stay folded.
The Vikings and Bills amaze me. Since 1970, so many great teams, so many big losses, out of so many superbowls, not a single SB win. So bizarre it defies explanation. I am a Chiefs fan, but I often root for the Bills and Vikings, and even the Browns, simply because I feel so bad for them that I want them to experience success just once for a change.
From a rams fan, it’s weird not being the team with a suspect OLine, but with that said, Sam had no help from that line most of the night. On that same token, Sam and KOC were also not helping with getting plays going and having a pass game going. Wishing y’all a productive offseason. Love the videos!!!

I was at the game in Arizona, copped tickets immediately when I realized the game was being moved here. funny thing is it was marketed as a rams game but I’d say the ratio of rams to Vikings fans in attendance was roughly 30-70 Vikings favor, clearly didn’t matter :(
As a Rams fan from LA, I’m glad we won and gave our people some hope after the devastating wildfires. But I also understand your frustration as a Vikings fan. I didn’t expect our defense to sack Darnold 9 times - it’s a mix of bad O-Line play and him holding on to the football for too long. Hope you guys will come back stronger next season with JJ McCarthy under center!
4.52 seconds average hold time. Saw this last game against the lions. One of the reactions to trauma is Freeze. I am so sorry dude. But your future is so bright with KOC. If Darnold isn’t making decisions. I’m afraid to quote Gisele after SB46 but her husband cannot throw and catch the ball. That’s pretty much the ball game.
“If Darnold can win 13 games imagine what JJ can do”…… what? How can anyone possibly have enough raw data to make a statement like that? He was one of the youngest QBs who was asked to do very little in college and 1 preseason game against some backups is NOT enough of a sample size to have any idea what JJ will be like in the NFL. Considering he is the least experienced of his QB class and missed the entire season he will probably struggle next season the way Nix, Maye and Caleb struggled at times this season. It is FAR more likely the Vikings win 8 games with JJ next season than 13+. Jayden didn’t even win that many games. That comment is dripping with cope
@@articxpose1164 I can’t help but agree, I get this video was filmed live and his emotions are very much high but statements like “our long term future is good, we have our QB” are completely delusional at this point. The Vikings have A QB, there is no way to know if they have THE QB. While Darnold struggled in the last 2 games I just can’t see how writing off a guy who played great all season and won 13+ games is the correct choice. It just feels like the far more sensible move is to keep Darnold one more season on a reasonable amount and see what happens. It was his first playoff game, maybe he can get better. Letting a 13+ win QB go in favor of a completely unknown quantity in JJ is crazy.
This is the first time i ever saw this much emotion from you 😂 you're usually so calm and even keel....but look on the brighter side your team has a bright future you could be a giants fan like me😂😂😂

Vikings fans were friendly during and after the game. I feel bad for them bc there was so much potential this season with Sam darnold
As a Cardinals fan, the 2024 Vikings reminded me of our 2021 season. We started strong, looked like a Super Bowl team for much of the season, then fell apart down the stretch, and got embarrassed by the Rams in the first round in primetime. Sorry you had to go through that. If JJ McCarthy turns out of be a good, the Vikings will be in the hunt for a while.
Darnold being poor was something I considered a distinct possibility, but I am far more concerned with how O'Connell managed the 2nd half of the game; the last thing you want is a coach who gives up when things are not going his way.
Can we just acknowledge this was a regression to the mean for this team. Nobody expected them to have the season they had. And to expect the Vikings to have any semblance of the same season as they had this year is asinine. If you stick with JJ, expect to have a rookie QB season. Prepare Uranus.
29:46 That was my experience watching the Cardinals in 2024. There were at least 3-4 games where their defense performed very well, holding their opponents to 20 points or less, and they lost those games because of an underachieving offense. It's the reason we didn't make the playoffs.
This Vikings team would be like those bad Browns teams of the early 2010’s winning 14 games honestly, big props to that coaching staff for getting an underwhelming roster to 14 wins, and loses to Rams and Lions isn’t a bad thing, Matt Stafford is a SB champion and they have a good coaching staff
Down 3 TDs and running plays to burn the clock. Also, every pass overthrown, to far ahead or behind and that's IF its thrown! SD holding to long and NOT throwing it away but taking sacks for loss
As a Rams fan I truly feel sorry for vikings fans. You deserved much better a performance than what the Vikings put out last night, and I would have loved to see you advance, this team will eventually win big just trust the process, just 10 years ago the Rams finished 7-9 and hadn’t made the playoffs in 10 years. I’m rooting for you guys next year🙏🏽
As non Vikings fan from Minnesota this is just a repeat of the Keenum season can’t be surprised especially when a team hasn’t had a franchise QB since Fran Tarkenton
I personally can’t really blame KOC too much. The end was too slow on his side but I thought Darnold just wasn’t hitting the passes and held on to the ball too long. Hoping we get some pass defense and an interior O-line that isn’t Swiss cheese 😅. The plan seemed solid but it’s hard to adapt when your QB isn’t hitting wide open receivers and check downs. Keep up the good work man, love the videos.
I feel badly for Darnold and Vikings fans. The last two games were rough, but I will also point out that winning playoff games is hard, and the Rams have been on a heater for the last 5 weeks. Time to find out if JJ is ready for the NFL.
I feel your pain. Remember when Miami went to Kansas City and it was Alaska type weather? Yes don't trade for Tua because you don't want his mental health decline on your hands anymore than we do.
It’s funny. The week before the lions game there was a Facebook post saying the Vikings needed to shop jj McCarthy around because they can win it all with Sam Darnold. I was shouted down for saying keep jj because we don’t know if Sam can win when it matters yet. We have a better idea now of who he is and what he can do when it matters now
I thought Minnesota was better than this. I expected a much closer game against L. A.. Two in a row against elite teams where they stunk it up. What happened last week against the Lions appears now to have meant they got what they deserved.
Cleveland can clear 80 million in cap with restructures that doesn’t screw them that hard with how they handle the cap. Darnold is certainly possible with a back loaded deal at 20 to 30 million a year.
Really sorry your season has to end like this. Vikings are like Steelers and Cowboys on steroids: so much regular season success but no postseason success to show for it Also I see y'all fighting over Trey Smith: he's still ours! (for now)
I think it all boils down to teams like Pittsburg and Minnesota just playing their worst ball of the year when it matters the most. Even though the Bengals record was much worse they were a much bigger threat than either of those teams at the end of the year.
The loss to the Lions was a wake up call! The Vikings didn't make the necessary adjustments and the Rams destroyed them! Heck, they gave up in the 4th quarter!
As a packers fan I was really hoping you would not have a similar experience to us on Sunday. It sucks and a lot of similar problems from an offensive standpoint tonight from the opponent just smacking us in the mouth and saying we’re tougher than you and showing it. Not a Minnesota fan but it was sad seeing the vikes lose like that it was so fun watching darnold have this type of season and it jus sucked seein it end like that 💔
Bro your channel is awesome. Respect on you not drinking. We’ll do better next year. Skol.
SKOL
The anger is so real brother skol man 💔
SKOL even on the tough days
@ especially then easy to Skol on the good days love the channel man
Sam Darnold feeling like Herbert right now with that 54% pressure rate. Difference is he held the ball the extra .2 seconds that lead to an extra 5 sacks
Darnold came into this game with that Atlanta Kirk cousins contract and left with a Steelers Russ contract
Hey man, I only keep up with football casually but you’re a really awesome dude, appreciate your demeanor, the way you phrase frustrations, your respect to teams and individual players, and you come across as a really smart and well rounded content creator with examples for your rationale

Edit: I know it's not the sort of emotional you want to be right now, but it's cool to see you talk about the Vikings in a more reactionary way - you still have the objective element that makes your stuff a relief compared to less detail oriented coverage of the league but its cool to see ya just be a fan too. Sorry about what happened to your Vikings dude. I think your point about the lack of urgency is really key.
I felt the same way during the Packers game. It's frustrating. Brutal week for the NFC North, unless you're a Lions fan.
Every game has been a blow out. Wtf?? Only close game was Washington and Tampa Bay!!
That’s a prime example of master vs student…. Koc has alot to learn still… it’s not his time yet but it will come !
"Much to learn you still have" -Yoda to KOC
Been a fan of the Vikings since 1968. Lived through four lost Super Bowls, 41-0, and I lived in NYC at the time. But I haven't been this embarrassed in a long time. KOC is a terrible play caller in big games. The OL was a set of traffic cones. Darnold was horrific. Awful. Just awful.
I think I'll find other things to do on game days next season. I've had enough. After all these years, I've just had enough.
I’m right there with you. How can I be a fan of a team that quits, from the coach down?
Damn….that hits hard
daaaaaang unc
lol you’ll be right back in September…
@@BruhBroham2001 Always been true before. But this hit differently.
Damn, missed it. Thanks for the content.
As a Steelers fan, I sympathize
We got a long road ahead of us brother

People calling for your coaches job. 😳
@@EclecticDivergent firing Tomlin isn’t solving the issue
@@CoachCarter102 wait, what?
Just a matter of time the old sam came back. He was a backup last year and on his 4th team for a reason. Crumbled under the bright lights in the biggest moments. Struggles with accuracy, processing, reading defenses and poise. Big arm is not enough.
I agree. When he looks bad, he looks REALLY bad. Goff had one of his worst games this year against the Vikings, but he kept it together. Same thing with the Texans game. Darnold seems to fold and stay folded.
i came for the melt down and wasnt disappointed.
Sad to see. 9 sacks is just insane. They looked defeated in the 3rd. LA played good football, but there were a lot of missed opportunities.
Darnold was throwing some incredible passes last night, the ball catchers were dropping everything
From a rams fan, it’s weird not being the team with a suspect OLine, but with that said, Sam had no help from that line most of the night. On that same token, Sam and KOC were also not helping with getting plays going and having a pass game going. Wishing y’all a productive offseason. Love the videos!!!
I’m sure it feels like a real punch to the gut, but just let it set in for a minute that you really are a successful RUclipsr talking about what you love for a living, and you’ve created a community for people like us who just like talking about ball seriously without all the antics.
Thanks brother 🤙🏻
Rick’s last 3 years he drafted:
Jefferson, Darrisaw, Bradbury, Metellus, Bynum, Pat Jones, KJ Osborn and Blake Brandel, all players who have played significant snaps (Osborn was WR3 last year)
KAM has drafted…
Jordan Addison. (Who KOC demanded they draft and not trade down like KAM wanted btw)
KAM also drafted Lewis Cine (whom he traded down with the lions so they could get Jameson Williams and became the first team to drop 20 spots in the first round and not get a 1st round pick btw, and he’s also a bust and not on the team) Ed Ingram, Andrew Booth Jr (bust, not in the roster), Brian Asamoah(special teamer as a third rounder LMAO), Akayleb Evans (cut from the team lol), and Jalen Nailor who rarely gets open with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison and TJ Hockenson on the field.
KAM is TRASH. GET A REAL GM
40yr Lions fan here…I forget how Mr.Brad Holmes fleeced Minnesota in the draft n we got Waymo (Jamo)…I don’t remember details..2nd rd & ?idr…thanks for the reminder 🎉..good luck this next year ✌️
Brandel and Bradbury?? 😂😂 Spielman also signed Kirk Cousins though lol..
While Kwesi has had his blunders and his drafting can improve, he did also bring in Mekhi Blackmon (who got hurt during training camp, we’ll see how he pans out). Ivan Pace Jr is a UDFA. You also failed to mention the whole 2024 offseason lmfao. JJ McCarthy got hurt, Dallas Turner was playing behind two Pro Bowl OLBs, Khyree Jackson died.
The Vikings were never SB worthy. The Lions and Rams each dismantled that team twice this season. They've consistently beaten the bad and mediocre teams and lost to the good teams all season long.
Rams lost against the bears.
@@manuelelopez1982 did everyone forget that their TE1, WR1, and WR2 were injured in the beginnin of the season and that stafford was out there tryna solo healthy teams
@@manuelelopez1982 The Rams haven't had key players most the season. They have a relatively healthy roster now. Also the Bears aren't a bad team... easily the best team with that terrible of a record.
Bros pissed😂
I am a Niners fan, and usually listen to Niners analyst. This is the first time I've listened to you, because I wanted to hear what was going to be said about the game. I like your analysis - no holds barred!!
No one cares that your a nines fan
As a Giants fan, I had hope that Darnold would knock it out the park and we would trade for JJ... That's all gone now. They played like they had next week when it's the playoffs
That was never a possibility
“We’re down 18…just keep it moving…”
My heart goes out to you brother...and I know EXACTLY how your feeling
I'm a bleed green Eagles fan and I'm 57 yrs old...there was an incredibly long and heartbreaking period from the mid 1980's to the late 1990's when the Eagles just stumbled from season to season without hope beyond mediocrity.
I'm NOT comparing your current Viking team to those Eagle teams...just letting you know that NFL is full of fans feeling exactly the way you are right now....all that being said...I freaking luv your channel brother...keep your head up and keep'em coming.
Great post-game analysis. So sorry your team got bounced but happy to see you looking forward with JJ. Keep up the great content man.
20:12 I felt that in my SOUL... Props to you for being professional enough to still give nuanced takes.
Packers Fan out of germany. Seeing a team who performed as well as the Vikings throughout the whole year go out like that is sad. But next year NFC north will rock even harder and I’m looking forward to finally see the packs win against the Vikings again
Love your content and especially your weekend wrap ups ❤
Sam Darnold shat the bed lmao
I’m sorry brother I’m a lions fan and I know your hurting
Vikes needs:
1. iOL
2. CB
3. DT
Maybe even safety if Harrison Smith isn't usable anymore
Greg Cosell had it right before the game - the Vikings O-line would not be able to handle the Rams pass rush. He nailed it.
Completely agree.
Watch them go 6-11 on a tough schedule and JJ play average and they'll bail on him, you don't trash a guy that wins you 14 games man...
Darnold get ready to learn chinese
Typical Vikings. Sad. But good regular season.
feel for you viking fans, it was hard seeing sam darnold just lock up on some of those sacks
I feel bad for Football Analysis. It was not much of a game.
This is the first time i ever saw this much emotion from you 😂 you're usually so calm and even keel....but look on the brighter side your team has a bright future you could be a giants fan like me😂😂😂
Lol I for sure get into the games. I was fully bought in
Mane that's tough. I love watching Perna when the Broncos lose but I ain't feeling good about this reaction here.
?
Sad to see you like this my man. Hope the pain goes away swiftly
I went to this game, got tickets in the Vikings end zone. Had a great time, although I’m a fan of neither team my wife bought me a Puka jersey so I cheered for the rams lol we had a great time. Vikings fans were friendly during and after the game. I feel bad for them bc there was so much potential this season with Sam darnold
Never seen a team completely give up in the 3RD QTR of a PLAYOFF GAME. KOC literally was running the ball like it was a preseason game smh
KOC channeled his inner Eagles Andy Reid in this game with the clock management
Brock purdy made a lot more money by not making the playoffs this year...
Literally fell asleep watching Darnold last week. Dude looked lost. Had a bad feeling about this one for him…
Sucks man.
Darnold being poor was something I considered a distinct possibility, but I am far more concerned with how O'Connell managed the 2nd half of the game; the last thing you want is a coach who gives up when things are not going his way.
4 and 2 and every route took forever and the pressure was too much for th
As a Packers fan, I feel better now. That being said, I feel for ya bro🙏
I’m rooting for you guys next year🙏🏽
Good luck moving forward. Y’all killed us
Feel so bad for you bro
As non Vikings fan from Minnesota this is just a repeat of the Keenum season can’t be surprised especially when a team hasn’t had a franchise QB since Fran Tarkenton
This is the first time ive ever just seen you put thr professionalism aside and just get pissed off lol deservedly so brother
Just gotta get it out
I personally can’t really blame KOC too much.
My man went full tilt during this video. Lol
I feel your pain. Remember when Miami went to Kansas City and it was Alaska type weather? Yes don't trade for Tua because you don't want his mental health decline on your hands anymore than we do.
Sorry about your Vikings bro trust me I feel your pain I’m a Steelers fan 😭
I’m sorry they let you down so bad. I know your pain, let’s hope JJ has a super bright future. Those sacks taken were painful to witness.
Need to start JJ McCarthy
Vikings are like Steelers and Cowboys on steroids: so much regular season success but no postseason success to show for it
Also I see y'all fighting over Trey Smith: he's still ours! (for now)
I think it all boils down to teams like Pittsburg and Minnesota just playing their worst ball of the year when it matters the most. Even though the Bengals record was much worse they were a much bigger threat than either of those teams at the end of the year.
I can feel your pain.
At 19:55 "you want to change something? Change 8 sacks". Narrator: "they did in the end change 8 sacks........"
Another team will definitely get him and Vikings should go all in with JJ
The loss to the Lions was a wake up call! The Vikings didn't make the necessary adjustments and the Rams destroyed them! Heck, they gave up in the 4th quarter!
I blame the O line much more than Darnold
As a packers fan I was really hoping you would not have a similar experience to us on Sunday. It sucks and a lot of similar problems from an offensive standpoint tonight from the opponent just smacking us in the mouth and saying we’re tougher than you and showing it. Gotta be back better and stronger next year hoping.
