    Thank goodness for this video. My two 6 year old C3's had almost zero flow. I had no idea how easy it was to remove the motor and clean the impeller and casing. I had planned on just buying another C3 ... so this video saved me from having to buy a replacement.

    I solved the low flow issues, noisy cranking sound and clogging issues... on newly bought set of 1 week... simply following the video BUT also, by removing and cleaning the impeller casing as well! Wish that portion was in this video!!! side note: the filter cover should be on as much as possible. because the left and right flow (when moved completely left or right, especially the left lower flow side) will cause the cranking noise... so the filter cover does "balance everything out" I should also add that, not to squeeze the carbon bag when rinsing as it easily tears and causes the activated carbon to leak... the small pieces of carbon also cause the filter to make cranking noises and get displaced into the impeller, filter areas etc...

    hi, does this filter back siphon water back into the tank after a power failure or unplugging filter? does it keep it's suction to restart filter when power is back on?

    Can you tell me how much clearance I need for the C3 and C4?
    I have a tanks that's been set up for about 10 years... it's running a Fluval 405... and I'd like to run another filter for filtration and circulation... but I can find the dimensions for "tank to wall clearance"...

    • @fluval
      @fluval  7 лет назад

      The C3 would need roughly 3.25" (8.2cm) and the C4 would need about 4" (10cm).

    I love this filter, it looks nice and seems to do well. Got my new one a week ago. I just don't use any chemial filtration (blackwater aquarium), so I filled the chemical basket up with bio media rings in order to add some more biological filtration. The only "downside" to this filter is, as the motor is outside of the tank, it makes some noise compared to the juwel bioflow super that is inside my tank. But nothing bad as my aquarium is in the office of my house and not in my bedroom.

    • @fluval
      @fluval  Год назад

      Hi there, we're sorry to hear about this. Please try thoroughly cleaning out the impeller, impeller shaft and impeller well - there can sometimes be debris left over from manufacturing processes that could be causing this issue. If that doesn't help, we encourage you to bring the filter to the retailer from which you purchased it for troubleshooting and replacement if necessary. If I have a standard 5.5 gal tank with one fan tail gold fish that is about 3 inches, can I use the C2 filter? Even though it is rated for up to 30 gallons, I was wondering if it would still be okay for a smaller tank? There are no live plants.

    • @fluval
      @fluval  7 лет назад

      Steven yes you can, it does have an adjustable flow control.

    Would you be able to tell me if the C2 Power Filter could fit on the gap of a 10G LED Marinia Tank that used to fit a S15 Marina.

    • @fluval
      @fluval  7 лет назад

      Being Fluval we do not have marina set ups at easy disposal, we can tell you that the C2 does have a 1 inch wide support that rests on the frame of the tank at it is 5.5 inches wide, hope that helps.

    Is this a clip on outside of the Aquarium filter?

    • @fluval
      @fluval  6 лет назад

      David, there is a leveling clip on the bottom of the filter case that is included to ensure the filter is parallel to the side of the aquarium. We did not cover that in this video and should have.

    Hello. I'm a newbie to filters. I have a c2. I bought it along with the tank from a previous owner and know nothing about it. The pump started making a grinding noise. I just took it apart and cleaned it out trying get any debris. It didn't seem to help at all. Also I was wondering if there was any part of the filter that I need to change out on a regular basis, how often and what would the product be called?

    • @fluval
      @fluval  7 лет назад +1

      Samantha, we recommend a new impeller, that is the only moving part and it does wear. You can find it at your local fish store that sells Fluval products, they can always order one if they don't have it in stock.

    I have an Aquaclear 50, size wise how do the C2 and C3 compare? Would the C2 compare to the size of a AQ50?

    • @fluval
      @fluval  7 лет назад +1

      The C3 has greater output, for a full comparison please visit fluvalaquatics.com. Versus the AQ 50 you would compare against the C3.

    is there enough media in that little box

    • @fluval
      @fluval  7 лет назад

      It is important to consider the fact that there are 5 filtration stages, cumulatively this adds up to more than enough media for the tank size ranges this type of filter would be used on.

    hello, which filter you recommend for my aquarium 25g, I have a couple of scalar and is planted with Sagitaria, anubias, and many rocks

  • @1luis4wero

    will the filter be good for reef tanks like 29gallons

    • @fluval
      @fluval  7 лет назад

      If you use it on a reef make sure to rinse and replace filter media regularly. In the case of a marine aquarium it is more important to regularly remove trapped organic debris from the filter.

    Hey fluval do u recommend this type of filter or the u4 for a planted tank ?

    • @fluval
      @fluval  9 лет назад

      Desiree villarreal What size planted tank do you have, and what are the types of plants you are planning on - larger, broad leaf varieties or a denser fast growth type mix with bunch type plants?

    • @Latina_641
      @Latina_641 9 лет назад

      40gal and im growing both hardy plants java fern, jungle val and dwarf hair grass.

    • @fluval
      @fluval  9 лет назад

      Desiree villarreal Thanks for providing these details. The Jungle Val will grow upwards and then across the surface of your tank, so we would go with the U4 here since it will be easier to direct the current. With the C-Series, the output would be blowing the Jungle Val surface growth about.

    This product is noisy! If you expect to just hear water running into the tank you'll be very disappointed. Other than the noise I have no complaints. Many people say it's quiet so there may be quality control issues with some samples having the problem and others not. Basically it's an Aquaclear with different media configuration. Identical motor, impeller, same company. I'd bet they have the same noise issue too. I wish they'd find a fix or offer support to customers having this problem. It sounds like there's a white noise machine in the room!

    • @fluval
      @fluval  5 лет назад

      Ronald, as experienced aquarists here at Fluval HQ we can certainly vouch for how quiet this filter is. Perhaps there is something caught in the impeller chamber of your filter or the impeller needs to be replaced, have you removed the motor assembly to check? Also, what is the water level in your aquarium?
