Gotta join into this train of painted companies~!🤣 In three days I've had painted 24 mechs for my "Sauna Warriors" mercenary, 8 light&medium mechs to experimental "reverse engineered Rasalhague Regulars" camo, 18 mechs for 5th Crusis Lancers, and finally 6 already painted mechs got some detail fixing (lasers got glows, grills got painted darker, etc.) 😂
Well. House Korbyn is in an interesting position. As is the League. The Battle of Somberburn was nothing short of a devastating defeat for House Korbyn. A single mech escaping is better than nothing sure. Otherwise. House Korbyn's idea on attacking the League's capital. I don't know all the details, like do they have the Warchest pts to pull it off, and enough the dropships to ship a Company sized force across the planet? Also wouldn't it be better if they conducted raids behind the League's lines instead like they did in the opening phases of the war. And wait for their reinforcements to arrive? Likewise, on the other side of things. The League needs to rap up its South Azure campaign. If their still stuck in a siege when House Korbyn's the reinforcements. Odds are they are going to lose a lot of stuff at either Landbridge or Azure. Korbyn has better part of a Battalion inside. And the League has about that same number as well. Better quality sure. But the League can't afford to lose a Battalion compared to House Korbyn. If I was the League, I'd scrounge an extra Lance & send it to South Azure before attacking the City. To pull garrison duty at Somberburn to free the Mech troops present. The longer it takes, the better prepped the trapped forces will be. The only other option is to starve them and conducted multiply battles in raid like attacks to chip away their strength. This southern campaign has turned out damn interesting. We'll see if this will have any impact on the wider war and what long term effects it will have. Catch you next time. Loving the unfolding story. And damn fine work.
That was a rough one for House Korbyn, all they could do was try to make the best of a bad situation. But... it seems like a lot of League and Chupacabra troops are committed to the south, so maybe Korbyn can push back up north? If not, things are going to get really bad for them down in South Azure...
Just finished watching these. They are very good! You are very articulate and knowledgeable on military terminology and tactics which makes it even cooler.
thank youj for these batreps they are really well done really like the use of combined arms. I was thinking it might be cool to see a mechs eye view of the battlefield here and there like a snake camera view although the effects you are using really make things stand out keep up the good work
Yay. Keep the pace with uploading. If I were chupacabras I"d commit general assault against the city, not waiting for repairs. I'd even take some forces from main front. Losing some ground on main front is acceptable.
Yeah, you have to consider 20 total HP, now think about most mechs doing 2-4 damage. Then focus fire with (normal) Clan skill levels, even with Variable Damage rules it's going to hit almost 50%. Note Alpha Strike uses SATOR not GATOR (as there is no piloting skill so there is no need to differentiate between Gunnery and Piloting). Skill: 3 Attacker Movement Modifier: Ground Movement 0 TMM(Atlas): 1 Other(Partial Cover): 1 Range(Medium): 2 You're looking at 7s Attacker Standstill is of course -1 to bring it to 6, and if the Atlas is caught out of cover it's now 5. Clan Heavy and Assault mechs in Alpha tend to do 4+ damage, and thus require maybe 5 good shots to bring down an Atlas. Most Annihilators are like, 7 damage. It can't take as much of a beating as in Classic but it still is a bit of a nightmare to bring down.
To be fair each got dumped on by almost an entire clan heavy star each. i don't play classic really but I imagine a similar scenario would wreck the atlas there as well.
fantastic episode as always! that was an absolute bloodbath, in a game of a lot of conservative and cautious plays this really felt like the first devastating blow to one side of the conflict. So long little Scouts, you have served well o7 🥲 The one thing I think I don't personally like is what looks like AI generated images for the character profiles? I'd LOVE to see some some really cool commissioned headshots replace them eventually, it'd add so much more character to the profiles!
House Korbyn is in a pickle, but... I wonder if this is a hollow victory for the League. I have forgotten what the rules for packing them back up in their dropships is, and how fast they can do it - but if Korbyn has something ready to go, there's a very good chance that the League has left something vital and strategic open with barely anything to guard it. right? i mean that's what i'm assuming. either way, it'll prove for some interesting stuff in the future. Can't wait to see it! As always, good story telling and thank you for the video!
I really love these battle reports. I can't decide who to root for and your terrain is so immersive. How many players are participating in the campaign? Do they all participate in each battle? I like how not using BV to balance the forces in each battle makes the overall campaign more realistic.
The League won here, but they desperately need to improve their logistics. Still capturing those mechs will be a major boon if they have the pilots to take control of them.
Another awesome battle report and, the strategic tomfoolery and baiting was excellent. Well deserved setup and win. The tactical differences in dropship doctrine are showing. If I was building a support merc company for this campaign? AA guns,(Partisans?) artillery unit and either VTOL scouts or specialized recon mech like ravens.
No, it's actually an acrylic road system that I painted up. GCmini.com 6mm roads. It comes unassembled and unpainted, but it looks great once you get it on the table!
@@WargamerStories I am hoping for some spectacular plays in turn 7 but that seems so far away with how it looks now. At least one more turn of getting shafted by the mercs.
This has been amazing so far as I finally started from the beginning of the series 😂, curious question as I know I asked about how you rolled your dice I think on the 16th episode but up to this point we’re y’all doing two D6 to do the full damage dice of the mechs?
No worries! :) For skirmishes like this video, we do the separated dice. But when the two factions start deploying companies or more, we switch back to standard Alpha Strike 2D6 rules doing full damage on successful hits. On Blue Hole, most battles were generally company or larger being deployed into the battles.
Ooorah! Finished painting 2 Companies of IS Mechs a couple hours ago. This is a good day.
I've nearly finished up painting a canopian scout lance. so periphery, inner sphere enough right? ;P
@@gerbenvanessen Well. I have a full Cluster of Clan Mechs. So I need to balance my forces a bit.

I gotta say, the terrain and "special effects" are best in class, easily! Well done.
Thanks for the great video.
Watch that single Wasp that escaped do something crazy in a later battle like
crit an assault mech to death!
Oh boy thats brutal imagine the thoughts going through that lone wasp pilot. Just barely escaping.
I imagine his thoughts were somewhere along the lines of: "Shit!! Shit! Shit! OH SHIT!!"
Woah, that was the most decisive defeat yet! Epic baiting tactic to take out a company sized force and even taking two Mechs home is crazy.
Yet another great video. It’s criminal that this channel doesn’t have more subscribers. Love the content please keep up the great work.

Great maneuvering on the Leagues part. The other side losing a company like that is really going to hurt.
I find myself sitting here waiting for the next episode so hard. I’m really enjoying this series.
Oof, that was a devastating battle, I'd say the first battle of its kind in this campaign.

"LIB MR Reserves", laughed hard at that one. Never thought I would see that joke used with mechs. Very clever! Bravo!
Glad you liked it!

As a CBT player I am always astounded by how quickly an Atlas can get exploded in Alpha Strike!

Life is brutal in the BattleTech universe... be it Classic or Alpha Strike :)

No, it's actually an acrylic road system that I painted up. GCmini.com 6mm roads. It comes unassembled and unpainted, but it looks great once you get it on the table!
I have a serious complaint. There are not enough battle reports! Fix this please.
At this point it's becoming difficult to root for the underdog. House forces are getting absolutely pounded into the ground.
It does look bleak but don't count them out yet. :)

@ ah so if it’s a small enough fight the dice are separate but bigger battles with lots of mechs it’ll be standard, that makes more sense now 👍
Hey does anyone know a good place to get custom models or buy models in general? Been wanting to make a pirate lance with chargers and locust
What new video wouldn't be complete without a random comment to help with the algorithm?
