Instead of turning your protection off, you could go to your downloads or press ctrl+j and select to keep file. 👍🏼
Also you can press that windows key, start typing UAC, open the result turn it off and restart. No more annoying UAC pop-ups. 🥳
Great guide Rabid. I will be switching to MO as i got a small bag of RTM. Plus i like XMR. Not sure though if profitability switching actually gives us the highest profits compared to direct mining the coins. 🤘🏼

This is a great guide, I'm trying to find a profit switching platform for CPU mining...This might be it. Going to try vs nice hash as well. I will have two identical rigs soon. part of the fun!
how do you set it up for a gpu with algo switching? I have my GT1060 pointed to the MO pool mining ETH by specifying after the wallet address in phoenix miner, not sure how to force it to algo switch though. thank you

Amazing content as usual! Just put together my first CPU rig, with a 5900X what hashrates should I be expecting in MoneroOcean? (B550M-HDV motherboard + 2@8GB DDR4RAM)
It depends on a few things, mainly your ram speed/cas latency. Ideally you would want 3200mhz cl14 or 3600mhz cl16, try tuning the ram a bit. Also lock your cpu frequency and lower the voltage as closer to 1 v as possible, it’ll be more profitable since less energy consumption

What's the difference between Release v6.16.2-mo2 & xmrig-proxy-v6.15.1-mo2? Both of them support algo switching?
did you change all your cpu rigs to this?
Sometimes when you extract XMrig, you may have to change the user settings on the config file so you can save your edits
if you have never opened that file type with notepad before then yes you will have to tell it to open with notepad the first time.
Hi, I have 2x5900x and 1x5600x, and I just switched from RTM to Moneroocean. For RTM, I had PBO2 enabled with custom curve of negative 25 for all core. What would you suggest for mo for these cpus?
Same settings if you prefer those I run 3.6-3.8 on mine
Well been steady watching the switch to moneroocean on my Ryzen 3900X rig and it is steady on the ghostrider algo...so I guess mining RTM directly might be the same and save on fees converting from xmr to rtm...we'll see.
You don't need to turn the protection off it's just a warning, press CRTL + J and right click and the download and click allow.
pro tip
Do we have to use the config json file or can we create a command . bat file, like you showed us how to do for RTM? Cannot seem to limit CPU usage for ocean very easily.
You can create a Bat file if you would like but think it runs off the config file

Do I need to set up this ASICS hub and figure out my farm hash before I do any of this? When you started doing that hive os stuff, I was completely thrown off and I’m not sure how to continue. I’m trying to figure out how to set up my farm hash. Also monero ocean doesn’t seem to be in the list for xmr pools in the hive os.

I just decided to start mining MO again, but running into a connection error. It said “no active pools, stop mining”. I tried changing to the different US pools with the same 10128 at the end and no success. Any experience here?

i question from orlando florida...I have 10 dell rack mountable dell servers... 4 proccesors 20 cores each on each server.....i can use win or linux .... on the mining op system can you use the same wallet for the 10 servers or you need 1 wallet for every machine??? energy cost to me is almos zero ( i am connected to a very strong solar system....

Rabid, the XMR wallet, "GUI Wallet" shows controls to start/stop miner. It doesn't open a terminal but does show hash rate. Do you know of any differences between using its controls vs running xmrig as you describe here?
Any mining using a wallet (for example XMR wallet) is only solo mining and not using any pool. So useless on 1 machine unless it is some very new coin where total hashrate is so low that solo mining makes sense.

it looks like when you show your CPU mines that you have a USB going into each one. I am assuming that is hooked to a HD or something do you have a video on how you have that set up i don't want to have to make a new thumb drive for each one if i can connect them all to 1
all are on ssd drives probably seeing the sata cables one rig has a usb for a mouse and keyboard thats in windows.

Hi rapid sorry for all the beginners questions 😅 so have you tested different ram for monero. I know CL14 is better but if there much improvement from 8gb, 16gb and 32gb. I've ordered a AMD ryzen 9 5950x and ordered 4x8gb Flare X CL14 don't wanna overkill my rig. Plus is monero ocean still profitable currently as I just wanna set up and leave it, except when I go to clean them. Plus as a thank you for your help I'm gonna order myself some merchandise from you RUclips channel 😊
Size don't matter but will get better hashrates with less latency cl14 vs cl16 and so on

Since HiveOS overclocks have to be set in BIOS, did you change up the ghz and voltage or just leave it on auto? I know for RTM the sweet spot for 3900x and 5900x seemed to be 3.6 and around 1v. Sorry if you said it in the vid, and I missed it.
I run the same settings on all my CPU minable coins the algo doesnt really matter like it does for GPUs which has a mem base and a core based coins CPUs are pure horsepower lol
Same settings are good to go on all cpu based coins 3.6-3.8 all core at 1v

One weird thing is, once my 5950X starts mining (in Hiveos) it does not use all threads. It only engages 16 of the 32. Hashrate between 3,5 - 5 kh. I followed exactly all the same steps as you did. Is there something else that is not mentioned in the video that I would need to change? Before XMR I was on RTM and all cores were used. Just changed the flight sheet for XMR and 16 of 32 threads used. Any advise would greatly be appreciated.
From what I understand, its just using each core and using 2 threads/core offers no benefit.

Great video, like you I have a decent amount of rigs cpu mining. Mining xmr I used to use a xmrig-proxy to gather the rigs in to one connection to the pool. Do you think that would work with monero ocean, or be useful? Or would that interfere with MO’s benchmarking…
would probably cause a issue with the benchmark but could always try
Raptorneum (RTM) with Ghostrider algo test mining is enabled on all pool nodes. Only MO xmrig or vanilla xmrig miners are supported. MO xmrig-proxy and MO xmr-node-proxy proxies should work with xmrig RTM mining as well.

@Rabid. Can you tell me what does the web mining actually do? It seems to be helping with the hashrate a-bit but there is literally no info regarding what it is actually doing?
not 100% sure but think it uses your CPU threw the web instead of using a mining program.
Would be great to have a video that adds a GPU for MO too (Especially for those of us with 4GB cards that can't do ethash)

once you start going over 3.8 you get very inefficient

Thats what publicly traded securities do. They fluctuate. Especially crypto when I sudden spike in publicity leads to a giant increase in network hashrate and people become more speculative. Driving price up too quick. When things go up that quick, they usually crash right after. Don't worry tho. Itll go back up.

no as it profit switchs based on your CPUs benchmark and uses currently difficulties and coin prices to decided when and what coins to switch to cant really calculate that.

When I inserted this, it would change up the threads on all the algos EXCEPT for when it ran Ghostrider. I also tried inserting “gr”: [0, 1, 2, ……] for how ever many threads as well, but it didn’t change it (still ran though). I also had “autosave”: false. Set under extra config arguments. If I tried max hint, with a different set of settings, it wouldn’t work, so I just inserted it into the default json setup that was on the xmrig doc.
Sorry for the long reply. I’m just hoping it’ll help solve the mystery because I can’t use mo until I can get that LA down. The LA has been causing my gpu s to throw invalid shares, so I’m just sticking to RTM for now.

One question I have is with the benchmarking for MO, if it’s only ~30 seconds how can it possibly get a good idea of RTM Hashrates. I am going to ask this to the devs and see if anyone thought of this lol.

I tried monerooceon on hive but it did not work. It was tuned for RTM and could not retune it for XRM. I edited the tuning manually in hive tuning but got disconnected for coopldown no mater what port i use. I have an old cpu but it was working fine on. RTM. Any idea how to fix this? hmm not sure will look into it should tune in hiveos everytime you restart the miner.

I think it might be related but I have been mining for 1 day straight with (5950 and 5900) and I am not getting any payments? The hashrate has varied from 2kh-10kh
In windows 10 how do you delete the config file to run the benchmark again? would this be something you have to do weekly?
Only have to do it if you change your CPU OC settings
There is a section in config.json that says " "rebench-algo": false, " just set that to true, remember to change it back or it will rebench every time xmrig is started.
You can change the duration of bench marking too on the next line "bench-algo-time": 120, i have mine set to 120 rather than 10 which takes about 30mins but seems to get the switching happening more often and especially for RTM i think it needs a bit longer.

How do you know your miner speed before you start mining?
It benchmarks everything
Why did you add a username to the end of your wallet address? Is that necessary? What is it referencing, exactly? Where is that user account setup? How confusing!
name is the worker name so if you have multiple rigs can see how each is doing or if one goes down you can see the name of the rig down.
My average per rig is 50 RTM a day on Flockpool.
I set this up on HiveOS but I keep getting the message | connect error: "operation canceled" | i tried changing the server and changing different pool ports below and above the hashrate of my cpu (1500 H max) but nothing works? I googled around and couldnt find a solution to this problem.
Using any extra config commands?
