Thank you, very clear and precise, started mining and see pending balance! Not sure I understand everything or that this video may be out of date, but I've been wanting to dive into crypto tech.
I use 20 dell optiplex i5-2400 (retired from IT department) at 60-80 watts each and 800H/s each. This is my “CRYPTO HEATER” for winter time... my electric bill is about the same as with my traditional electric furnace BUT at the end of the winter season I receive 1/2-2/3 monero after mining. The crypto is the “cherry on top” and I recycle the heat for keeping my house warm... WIN WIN (especially considering the machines were free too).
Winter is now “mining season” to me, all machines are switched off in spring-summer. I plan on using my free recycled i5 laptops for running bitcoin and monero nodes to give back to the community without using much electricity since laptops use about 15-20 watts when playing RUclips videos etc (about 25% cpu resources.)

@@AndellWarrior Yup. BTW. Xmirg is a fucking shitty miner it is because after I uninstalled a thing that runs it. It automatically started to mine everytime I turn my pc without my knowledge plus when I turn task manager on. It literally disappears

I started mining XMR about 2 weeks ago and I am only getting 600 H/s on my A10-9700 CPU. Just using 3 cores. I could get higher hashrates if I use all cores (4 cores 4 threads) but my cpu might not last that long. Nice video by the way. Cheers from the Philippines!

Hi, I use miningpoolstats to find the best pools. Don't worry about the cuda support its not required for Monero mining.

I had trouble getting the Windows Command Scripts (.cmd) to work until I added cd /d "%~dp0" as the second line of code after @echo off. This changes the directory so that the script can find the xmrig application.

@@IMineBlocks good man :-) if you wanna go totally hard core you can compile xmrig to remove the dev fee. You need visual studio but it's do able. With all the home time we are having it may not be as daft as it sounds. I may do a video on it. Please checkout my two recent vids best wishes from manchester

I feel you man. I was trying big amout of pools and miners, and I found out its huge pain in the ass. Half of miners are outdated and when you set it up they dont do anything. Just find miner pool that gives you their mining software and it is very easy to set it up.

Go to github.com/xmrig/xmrig-nvidia/releases/tag/v2.14.5 then download the file
After that go to the config file and put in your wallet address and the pool you want to mine on
Then run the miner

Mine in a POOL.... and as for profit, it’s useful to use monero to heat your house if you have several older i5 computers, it’s like getting free crypto and the heat is used for keeping warm in winter... my condo is kept between 68-70 degrees in winter while outside is freezing but I am running 15-20 machines total (all free from dumpster diving my workplaces IT department.)

You are loosing me when you create a new text file. You never say what extension to use and don't explain the error you got after you created it either and your voice volume drops exponentially to where I cant hear anything you are saying while that is happening to fast to follow along step by step. The act of creating my first config file rocks, but I'm not confident in the extension part. Its at about 3:40 seconds into the instructions...

Dude first of all you should have something BETTER than note friggin pad installed. This is the most basic of basic text editors that NEEDS to be installed before you start. For example, heard of Notepad++? Next, why are you getting people to create the config file when there is a config wizard on the site that you can use????????
