Thanks for posting this. And thanks to the best pair of sisters in music! Period. Also it's nice to see a drummer smile away all through the set. I assume from his presence that he's a great guy besides being an excellent drummer. That said, you must be the band with the most smiles per minute, anyway. :-D I was there that night, too. Took my girl along and even she who is usually not into blues or indeed any kind of guitar-heavy music - really fell in love with you guys. (PS: Jack, get a good clip-on mic for the phone. Pic is fine but sound needs improvement - particularly in picking up the voice, which in reality was much more present.
Interesting changes on Mad as a Hatter: Rebecca wasn't playing it live recently because she used to play mandolin on it, here she is on the Jazzmaster. They keep changing and growing.
She said they brought it back since there was such a massive request for it. The Gramophone Armageddon version has over two million views. One million are mine. At first, I didn't like substituting guitar for the mando but Rebecca worked her magic and made it just as beautiful. Still not a fan of the bass drum from the outset. I prefer the drums falling in on the chorus but hey, it works. Very haunting song. One that hits home when we lived with father in law who suffered with dementia and now she's getting senile since his passing.
Ich war ganz hinten und habe jetzt die Gelegenheit, mir das Konzert anzusehen. Die Akkustik war immerhin prima :). Danke für´s Aufnehmen und vor allen Dingen, für´s teilen. See you´ll in Frankfurt next year.
Warst du der Herr, der so verlegen dreinschaute, als Rebecca direkt vor ihm auf die Brüstung stieg? Das war lustig! 😂 Und vollkommen nachvollziehbar...! 😉
Hey American girlies! It's useless to find words which could describe the fun, happiness, pleasure you evoke with your music, your stage presence....Cologne in Germany is where I have been socialized in all the cool music of the times in the early seventies! I really like you guys, I think you have great energy and your music is powerful. I am a long time blues fan, saw Muddy Waters at least 5 times. I have looked at a lot of your work on RUclips, most of it is great but this concert that you did in Cologne was not a typical example of your other concert work. Both mics are not set right, there is feedback and a latent echo. German's are generally excellent technicians, but you got the worst people to do your audio and video. Colour and white balance were not set properly the camera is totally static, just a dead on shot, absolutely no artistry like I've seen in your other videos. The co;lour is ghostly, no adjustments were made, I could take better video of you with my iPhone. I used to work with news crews all over the EU. If someone handed this video in 5 minutes I throw it back at them and tell them to find some other way to make a living, where is the colour balance? It looks like this person was either coked out or extremely green. Some of the best videographers I very every worked with were Germans. Even your usually great guitar work sounded flat on this video. Do you bring you own amps, mics, sound board,? Way too much looping which distorted your audio and didn't show your great talents. You voices got wiped out by the settings of your instruments. The crowd appeared enthused but this does not do you justice. Even your drummer sounded like he was coming out of a lawn hose. You need to surround yourselves with high end techs. At least get an example of their work before hiring! This is really key to your growth. Those were not your usual mics, they muddied your vocals.which I think are getting better and better. Keep up the good work, but always work with quality people. John Wax, Washington,D.C. P.S.: There not much you can do with poor sound and boring video, you might even want to pull this one from RUclips. The one I saw from Milano was perfecto.
Incredibly talented sisters! Third-rate sound recording, though - Rebecca's voice was artificially snuffed due to inadequate volume and sound quality - that's a crime against all that is right and good!
Can you imagine their shows when they can afford sound and lighting engineers and a good guitar tech so Rebecca doesn't have to tune on stage? They're getting close as "Venom and Faith" is #1 on Billboard blues chart. Go Lovell's !
@@Hearthman1159 For sure. Saw them at the Islington show, UK just a couple weeks ago. Same setlist as this one. She broke a string during one song and had to just soldier on through it the poor thing. Guitar tech shoulda been right on it, but seems like they just had a "pass-me-my-guitar" guy instead. ^_^. They rock so they gonna get there soon. \M/
@@Hearthman1159 I love them. I am an older guitar player-been p[laying forever. Anyway, I cannot even find them on the billboard charts? Just sayin. I have the albums and the t-shirt with their pict.
I hear so many different bands in Larkin Poe music! Blue Oyster Cult on Holy Ghost Fire, Zeppelin on a number of tunes, Even some Pink Floyd on Mad as a Hatter. This is why they are succeeding, they are well versed in Blues and Rock. Very impressive for such young ladies.
Silly question but does anyone know how tall these ladies are? Just love them so much and want to know it all. I will have to travel but I will see thyem live-It's a goal for 2019 that I will fulfill.
Gotta give credit this time to the drummer and bass player standing in the back doing an awesome job without being noticed. You rock too!!!
Lots of great listening from you guy’s this afternoon- Super - you tube & you Rock!! 😊 Thanks
Larkin Poe is one of the best blues bands out there today. I wish them every success in 2019.
Cologne, E-Werk, 23.10.2023 Larkin Poe at its best again
I'm 62 and these (so) pretty young ladies and their music (and their "so good" guys) bring me back to seventies :-)))) god bless them !

Cool. I miss the mandolin though. Especially for Hatter.
Agree, still a great song but Mad as a Hatter was their first track I heard and the Mandolin made that song even better
Thank you RUclipsrs.

I believe the sound of the vocals are hollow because it is recorded on a phone.
