- I finally picked up a Qanba Dragon after seeing one at a great price at EVO thanks to Paradise Arcade. In this video I go over everything I did to the dragon from its general build to modded it to my personal taste. Please enjoy!!

Man I been really loving your videos man. I love fighting games and I never really thought of them as being something competitive. I love Street Fighter, Tekken, KOF, GG and others. I’ve been wanting to get more into Tekken and your video Don’t Give Up On Fighting Games, really hit me. I been wanting to get into getting a good stick that I can use on the ps4 and a pc if I get one in the future. But ya keep your content coming!!
You can hold the buttons in while closing it, so you don’t have to slam it shut.

I got my dragon at EVO as well and I really love it. Though the downside of it is traveling to tournaments with it.

I got this in 2017 when it dropped and it is truly the heftiest stick. Honestly I grab my TE2+ more often because it's lighter and the reports about the PCB reaction difference. He's a maintenance tip, don't game with watches and/or bracelets on your wrist. A friend at a party used my Dragon and his right wrist with a bracelet put fine scratches on the aluminum palm rest. I called Qanba about touch up paint and they told me to use any silver paint SMH. Don't let other people touch this stick, let it only be yours!

looking forward to your Fujin V3 review! I see you also put some Crown 202 buttons on the stick, how do they compare to the other buttons that you have?
On the dragon they feel great. Alot stirdier feeling and tactile-ish bump. They feel closer to a semitsu button with amount of force to use and a deep tone sound. Video will come sometime after the Fujin :)

Great video. I subscribed. I love my Dragon. The only issue I had is that the under aluminium bar for wrist rest is starting to rubbing off after some time. Not a major deal but If you know any easy tips it would be great. Keep up the good work
Clear vinyl probably be best to preserve which is what I'll probably end up doing.

I have been thinking about the wiresless board but from what I understand its not compatible with PC in wireless mode which kind of defeat the purpose for me. As for the Panthera, it depends on which one but if your looking at which one to buy I would highly suggest the 1st model. I put a 309mj in a local players stick and it was an absolute nightmare lol.
@@alexnostalgix I have a panthera already with a 309mj installed and Gamerfinger buttons. I just wanted to see your take on the stick. Mine also has the brooks ufb installed with an ez board because I got it done at arcadeshock on vacation.

Do you have any tips for getting the plastic inside off or the balltop? I genuinely cannot get the balltop to come off of mine, and keep seeing people mention unscrewing something but no sort of video guide or pictures unless it's the screw next to the hand warning sign?? I'm not sure anymore

Alex have you have or had use a bnb gen 2 stick? If you have would you recommend it? I’ve also been thinking about an Etokki Omni stick weather if it’s a Korean or Japanese version. Also what differences do you notice or feel between a ball top and a bat top
I have a Razer Panthera Evo and an Etokki Omni Korean Ver. The balltop makes circular motions like qc, 2 x qc and hc much easier at least for me (I use a circular gate for the JLF). I'm using the Razer more (mostly on my lap), its weight is perfect as long as you keep the stock spring for the JLF. I'm playing KOF XV, GGST and the new TMNT and prefer Sanwa JLF over Taeyoung Fanta for these games
3:47 8.5 inch cable huh :^). You can close it without slamming it if you squeeze the same tabs you use to open it when you close it. My biggest gripe with it is the tiny little start and select buttons, makes practice mode in tekken pretty annoying, there's a lot of wasted space in that top section with the red led arrows that could just be normal-ish sized buttons. Small annoyance but the led pattern that it goes into on "sleep" mode kinda bothers me, imo all the leds should just turn off in sleep.

Focus attack carries them now in limited quantities aswell as Paradise Arcadeshop. I got mine from IST-Mall before they were readily available in the 🇺🇸.
I love the Dragon aswell but , the clips that opens the lid break super damn easy i had to make some patents to make them last for ever basicly , and the layout inside it is not a mod friendly arcade stick, for example if you want to install a UFB pcb it is really a nightmare hopefully its only me that is stupid :D if you have installed a ufb pcb i would love to see pictures of where you did installed it. The rest of the dragon design , weight is just fantastic i love the stick
I have I've seen plenty of dragons and never seen the tabs break off TBH. As for mod friendly interior..... I swapped of plenty of korean levers and buttons with ease. Why do you even want the UFB in a dragon? The only parts that would be difficult is getting the lighting to work again and rewiring for start/select area. You can literally mount a UFB wherever you want.
where did you order the custom acrylic artwork??

I just recently got one with a golden lever mod and I love it but for some reason when I close the case my x button stops working, if I open it it works just fine only when it's closed all the way my x won't don't shit any idea what the problem could be

Yuk ! very expensive.... but I guess I'm coming from an old generation of players..... I pay more attention to the pieces than "flashy / silver " buttons / joystick. In the end, you are not a better player with fancy articles.....
besides, most of the joysticks with moving parts.... will break down one day or another.... but sure.. there are "flashy"...
Yeah thats why at the end of the video I mentioned theres plenty of other options out there other than the dragon. This stick is definitely serving a niche group of people but I dont think anyone would be dissapointed, ofcourse with anything experience may vary.

Why do you have this few views? wth. Also, just bought my Qanba Dragon because of this video a few hours ago from a private seller (really rare in this country) and I have to ask, is it normal that the white part of the box is dirty and the stick itself has a few dirty spots? Or did I just get bamboozled and sold a used one?
If I remember correctly mine was in like a plastic bag with no "dirty" marks lol. The box that orginally came with mine I had to throw away but I do have a box, the inside is alittle dirty (from amazon) but nothing major. Wrist rest can get scratched up pretty good in general unfortunately mine has a few scratches thanks to the zipper on one of my jackets. Other than that enjoy man! thanks btw

Is there a way to print artwork for the Qanba Dragon other than ordering it online?
you can take measurements from the plexi and go from there. Unless you end up cutting your own plexi and printing out your image from like a local photo shop but might end up being more expensive.
@@alexnostalgix I have all what it's necessary, the only thing is the size and type of paper that I should use because no matter what size I use it'll be either too large or small. Can you try that as a tutorial video? I'm sure a lot of people have the same issue
@@Dawird honestly probably not, you can get a print from wallgreens as the plexi panel can "smooth" in perfections. The dragons dimension are pretty straight forward being a rectangle with holes.
Did you use any lubricant in your drill bit when you enlarge the hole in the metal panel?
I didn't just threw it on and drilled without much thought.

@@kellingad if your cutting something like the dragon or aluminum to be more specific. You need go slow compared to other metals since its softer.
@@alexnostalgix I see. The stick I use is Hori RAP N Hayabusa. I'm not sure what is the material used in the panel for my hayabusa.
@@alexnostalgix and the problem I encounter when I drilled the top panel of RAP N Hayabusa is that the drill bit can't make the hole larger (not sure if the drill bit I bought is dull)

What’s the latency on these?
I did a really short test but I ran out of time. I compared it to my UFB board with the led button trick and the dragon was slower. By how much, I cant say since I only did a run or two with UFB about 1-2 frames faster nor did I optimize it or retest. Hope to do a deeper dive at a later time.
