I recently offered a letting agent 6 months rent up front for a studio flat in London which was £1400 a month for a property ypu could hardly swing a cat in, because my salary was £1000 under the threshold in terms of salary per annum. Im on 34k per year and they wanted someone on 35k per annum in their affordability checks. They told me I didnt pass affordability in terms of my salary even though I offered to pay 6 months upfront which is all the rent and equated to about 10 grand with the deposit and the letting agent and landlord still turned their noses up as they wanted someone on a higher salary that paid every month instead of upfront which is bizarre and probably the reason why letting agents are so despised! I was willing to part with almost 80% of my savings and pay rent upfront and somehow that want good enough!
This is so TRUE i worked in a restaurant for almost a year someone said to me “does the ketchup have any tomato in it?” I thought i was being fucked with
I love this, I love to see men sitting down and speaking articulately. I would really really love to see MyFreeMynd on here. I know it’s a little out of the property niche but mental health and mindset can hugely impact your path. Please get him on!!! Maybe for Movember? Again, amazing episode!
The tax question is an interesting one. Wealthy (business owners) contribute by creating jobs and earning opportunities for others (which contributes indirectly to more tax (ie. Because the business owners are creating jobs/earning opportunities for others, those others will pay tax on the income made)). From the sole trading property developer who pays for builders, solicitors, brokers etc, to the LTD company with employees. Both contribute to the money system through opportunity creation as part of their business. If the tax system doesn’t create ways for that to be rewarded and incentives for businesses to keep growing, then it leads to less job opportunities etc. All of that being said though…I’ve been sitting with that question on when is enough really enough… Great conversation! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
44:11 Dame Dash says the same I put my money into businesses and reinvest. So I'm cash poor but my money is turning around in the business. My money is working and I don't hold it.
Very true not everyone is built to run their own business. But there are born entrepreneurs working in toxic environment with micro management. That is suffering in itself. Others are don't have it in them and will only work for others, some happy with that the rest hating work life
Just say straight guys "Some don't sell to black people period" some of us have tried renting in other places and we got rejected in a clever way for the same reason.... Some areas want a certain type of class and people

That "M. Bison" comment is serious. Running a business is literally like playing Street Fighter back in the 90s.
Good episode, took away some gems 💎
