hereth37 As Cuneo writes for ChannelFireball and Cohen was running the same list as Sam Black (who writes for StarCityGames), I imagine there will be articles written in the coming weeks about these particular lists.
hereth37 magic.wizards.com/en/events/coverage/ptdtk/24-27-point-standard-decklists-2015-04-12 here's the decks that went 9-X or 8-x-x during the constructed swiss portion.
not gonna lie: andrew cuneo's deck looks pretty much identical to the one I was working on since the release of dragons of tarkir (including secure the wastes and devouring light!). 2 bad I didn't see it put to the test against something more aggressive. problem with my deck is that it doesn't have the same efficiency in terms of removal of the UB shell. all white removals are very conditional and that kinda sucks. also lacks the crux of fate-non dragon option which is cool. anyway it's kinda funny that cuneo dropped UB, he who was the original designer of it since pt ktk. guess now that everyone's playing it that deck wasn't fun for him anymore lol
DoitForTheLolz1 As soon as theros rotates, green and black will get weaker and lose some of its staples. The only reason people play abzan is for siege rhino
And courser being the best chump blocker doesnt hurt either :/. I wanted to make an abzan control deck because I like the colours until I realized elspeth and courser were the only cards that held the deck together, and siege rhino being the only other good creature because it doesn't really care about spot removal.
It prevent from targeting and from damaging. Wrath like cards can kill protection. But not cards like anger of the gods which is also a non targeting spell.
Rage0497 Heres the ruling 702.16b. A permanent or player with protection can't be targeted by spells with the stated quality and can't be targeted by abilities from a source with the stated quality.702.16c. A permanent or player with protection can't be enchanted by Auras that have the stated quality. Such Auras attached to the permanent or player with protection will be put into their owners' graveyards as a state-based action.702.16d. A permanent with protection can't be equipped by Equipment that have the stated quality or fortified by Fortifications that have the stated quality. Such Equipment or Fortifications become unattached from that permanent as a state-based action, but remain on the battlefield.702.16e. Any damage that would be dealt by sources that have the stated quality to a permanent or player with protection is prevented.702.16f. Attacking creatures with protection can't be blocked by creatures that have the stated quality.
DoitForTheLolz1 While, they are two different ability that protects the permanant in two different ways. Protection prevent damage and targeting. So it doesn't take any damage but can be destroyed if targeting is not required, which is the case for "Wrath of god". Indestructible, on the other hand, doesn't prevent damage. However, creatures can stay on the board even with 0 toughness. (unless it's total toughness is reduced to 0 by 0/-X effect) Also, indestructible creature can be targeted by cards like "Hero's downfall", although it doesn't do anything. Another situation is that, creatures with protection can still be killed by damage if cards like "Skullcrack" is resolved.
Alex Hutt spanish would be quite useful. I dont need it, to be clear, but Magic has a lot of fans who talks spanish and not english :) (excuse me forma muy english by the way)
Jonathan Gómez Useful for you. If they go down that road, people will start asking for German subtitles, Portugese subtitles, Chinese subtitles. It would become a huge drain on their resources, which would probably mean abandoning it all together. Better to just focus on the language most people playing will understand.
Kudos for being the only person I've ever seen to dig upside down.
I like watching Justin Cohen play. He's very methodical.
Usually see UB control, but Andrew Cuneo has a good idea. I love his style of play.
is there anywhere to find the decklists of these players? I can find the top 8 but not anyone else, will they be released after all the videos?
hereth37 Yes, there is a website that lists the decklists of all players participating.
Could you put a link perchance?

cool, thanks
Did Cohen keep a one land hand game one?
How didn't that ojutai die? From 4 damage
Valorous Stance, I believe
it makes a creature indestructible until end of turn.

Cool
real tired of seeing abzan play
Hunter Crim You'd think everyone would play mardu since they have the best 1 drops and both have downfall and end hostilities...

But stormbreath dragon has protection from white it shouldn't have been killed by end hostilities

thanks for your explanation
Haifeng Yang So having protection from a colour isn't any different than being indestructible, except it's for one colour only?
