In Melbourne it costs nearly $20 for a single pint of beer at some pubs now. It’s getting ridiculous. We need another rum rebellion.
Yeah nah, I was just there and most pints at pubs were $6-$10. You're going to the wrong spots mate
@@Dr.ZoidbergPhD send the spots brotha I haven't paid less than $15 for a pint in months
@hamishcruickshanks4749 well the Carlton brewery for one, not a pub per se, but cheap and comfy. I don't live in Melb so I don't remember the specific spots, but I was in and around Reservoir and Brunswick area. I even went to Mornington and it wasn't that expensive (I know that's much farther, but it's a big touristy area too)
Yeah fuck the government. They tax our pay, tax our food, tax our imports, tax our smokes, tax our booze, tax our tax, and can't even supply adequate housing.
Dogs.
Sorry mate aussie blokes have moved on from beer, its all about soy lattes acai and big pharma now
As an Aussie born in the 80’s alcohol was so cheap in the 90’s. I remember Jim beam on special pretty regularly for $14.99, now it’s around $60
inflation bro
Who’s gonna tell him
@@Lol-og9meliterally! 😂
@@johnwells3096my cocks inflated rn
Jim Beam is rannnnnk.
I work at a bottle shop, and the Australian 'bit' about the increased tax and prices is a conversation that I have every shift. AND the store has seen a massive increase in theft because people can't afford to buy drinks any more xD
Cheaper prices would only lead more alcoholics as people who should be making better use of their money could afford that extra bottle of spirits, I’m sure this would lead to more theft and ghetto ass behaviour, look into what’s happening in Latvia where alcohol prices are some of the cheapest in Europe, it’s low key a country of alcoholics.
30% of theft is by employees, so they should fight crime by paying you enough to buy the merchandise!
@jeremymckinnon395 the 7+ billion dollars in revenue says otherwise mate. They already tax our pays through the roof but with their reckless spending they get their extra slice at the register. You can get more prison time in this country by producing/dealing with a normally heavily taxed product than a violent crime. We get robbed just getting out of bed everyday.
Wanna know what they do atleast most companies. They hold your pay till the last possible second to maximise their profit from your money. Look into super trickery and loopholes. Knowingly make their staff alcoholics to increase profits charge 25c for easy break bags etc etc etc. You should see what the retailers not in the spotlight are doing.
$19k! ... must be on special
i think 19000! is bigger than you think
@@bobfred4410 :( Sadly not where I'm from legend

The worst crime committed by the Aussie wasn't the fact he was buying alcohol at 14, but the fact that he was buying VB's as a whole 🤣
Found the Queenslander
If you drink any sort of ale, your opinion is invalid
@@addisonburn8508 nah vb's are shit and im from bendigo, shit taste like ass and battery acid
Yeah mate. Bloody vb aye

Aussies starting go fund me pages to buy beer these days …
as a 17 year old, i relate wholeheartedly
OmG yOu're sO coOllLl
@@imbored8399
Thanks, 'i'mbored8399.'
btw you can literally get a dans card underage if you lie about it on the website, and they post it free, so you could probably get underage grog that way
@@imbored8399 12 yr olds being alcoholics down here is nothing out of the ordinary
You're too young to be drinking alcohol at 17 years of age. You should stick to kid's drinks like goon or West Coast Coolers.
Australia is the most expensive in the world for a lot of things, it’s pretty fucking ridiculous.
It's a good day when Liam Dowling uploads 🎉🎉🎉
The most iconic thing about this video, is the fact that at the end, He's holding a Monster can, wearing no T-shirt, and shorts. You honestly cannot get more Australian than that bruz. :D
Yea u can, beer in hand.
Not to mention the undies stickin out above the boardies
That's not even him it's his mate
The way he flicked the id had me on the ground 😂
not really... dude is cringe

The way he runs away after spittin on his mate is fucking funny as. I love that it's at the end of every vid
Just scored 2 6packs of 8.3% Ginger beer $15 i thought it was Xmas , totally crap in Oz for anything Anymore even to expensive for used matches.
At least Aussies can drink at the age of 18
I couldn't imagine it any other way
If you can afford it.
Price of living is going to shit but at least we have hundreds of billions worth of submarines sitting around doing fk all till the war breaks out.
for the past year the lads and i have been talking about getting a communal still setup at the warehouse we share for sprits because of the cost of alcohol here. we've also been talking about doing beer too.
dont need that much lad thats afp territory, me brother used to make citrus based shine in the tub with shit you'd have in a decently stocked kitchen
There is always enough money to buy Woodstock cans but never enough money for shoes or food for the kids in Australia🤣
Huh?
@@RadioMan2023 no,its true
First time at a duty free. $17 for a bottle of spirits and $10 for a beer at the same place. Some drinks are taxed from 17 to 60 the fuck.
The flouro shirt collar tucked in is literally perfect
Damn I hate when global warming does this
The fact that I got a beer ad before this video is funny
so my dad would do the same with cigars. he would buy like thousands of packs of cigar using hundreds of thousands of dollars right before the prices go up again, and then sell them years later and make and extra 5 dollar per pack
"God no sir I'm not a criminal" 😂😂
indeed
it's pretty much true, i remember being 16 back in 06, buying full size bottles for like 20-25, jims, jacks, woodstock blue, ya name it, now they're all starting around 50+ just in my area alone. don't get me started on the pre mixes the same deal, 200-300% mark up
never a fkn dull day when liam hits us with another banga
alcohol prices in australia are crazy tho, over here in germany its pretty decent few weeks ago i bought a 24 case of beer for 10 bucks
Cheers bro, now I'm crying 😢😂
German beer is cheaper than local in Australia, because it has less tax on it.
Basically the truth.
If you’re under 18 (And any form of ethnicity that isn’t white) it’s basically a free pass to steal.
Like, security will literally follow you for like 5 minutes asking you to put it back, and that’s about it.
It’s cheaper for the business to claim it back through insurance than it is to actually bother with chasing it down.
Also, the prices are about accurate. Cigarettes are about 4x that price because the health system and stuff.
as an aussie when the beer prices go up you head east to escape the cost
as an Aussie its basicly $14.99, before and now $60 for a Jim bean
The cpi rises twice every year. Around 1.34 gp, (price of buying from suppliers) so in order for the venues and bottlos to make money instead of breaking even. The past 2 years for example a cube of bundy went from $89.99 to around $98.99-$109.99…
A liqueur shop in my town got broken into a few months ago, but the only thing that was stolen was some bloody cheap alcohol, not even the expensive shit.
Back when I was 16 we'd get slabs of Carlton for $16. Now If I drink at all I just buy a bottle of wild turkey 101 and stretch it out. Australia is faaarked.
Dowlo we need more colabs with the Reecebros!!
as an aussie who works in a bottle shop, i just watched you have a conversation i have every shift.
Gotta make your own grog in this economy
their paying people to take bud light cause it Budweiser decided to play disconnect with their target audience
You might be able to get a single Budweiser for $1.29 (plus state tax) but under $1 the pickings are definitely limited.
Yea, dirt cheap.
In Australia cheapest youll get a single beer for is about 4-5$
Same day as fairbairn films always a good time😊
Passion Pop with a straw …..then use the goon bag as a pillow….best 10 bucks ever spent
saw a fucking can of cider for 10 fucking dollars in fucking melbourne
Non-alcoholic stuff is the same price without the tax, make it make sense.
Alcohol taxation
Alcoholic drinks are subject to 3 taxes in Australia.
In 2020-21, the Government received $2.5 billion in excise and customs duty on beer. This figure includes excise on draught beer and packaged beer.
The standard drinks in a bottle o jim Beam gave gone from 42 standard drinks to 24... watered down and over priced
Jim beam was never 74% ABV mate you're a tripper
Fake news.
should do it vs japan, alcohol is so cheap there
How amazing is alcohol in Japan! Strongs and sojus from the 7/11 are dirt cheap, soooo gooood
@@SkydrawnIV so good, soju bottle for $3 from the combini, I just got back over a week ago and I wanna go back, such a great country
@@Landyy Absolutely! I can't wait to go back either 😍 Next time I'd love to visit Hokkaido
@@SkydrawnIV Strongs are easily the cheapest way to blackout below 1000 yen
Of course the real joke is that Bud Lite and VB aren't actually beer. They are a brown beer like substance for those who can't afford the $25k for actual beers.
what’s the song at the end called and where can i listen?
Not sure if intentional but the beer cans being Better Beer is pretty funny since it's usually the cheapest beer you can buy
I almost spat my drink when you said "its the most expensive and we drink the most somehow"
Went to the local pub in our little town in Queensland. Haven't been there in ages.... 1 hard solo was $13.
I wanted to do hot shit on the floor and leave to send a strong message.
All I did tho was beep my card, smiled, and said thanks...
🤣😂😂🤣
Oh it’s real mate
Aus Government "alcohol? And it's taxed. "
Come to NT. Can't buy alcohol without a licence or passport due to Banned Drinker Register
Time to remove all government
Absolute bull crap you can’t even get pie eyed out and about anymore it genuinely costs toooo much
In my 20 years of drinking, a slab has gone from $20 on special to $57. That is still way cheaper than actually going to the pub and having a drink with others when 8 beers could buy a slab. It's like they want people to sit at home and drink. Especially when desperate people can get 5L of goon for $15. I'd rather go to a pub and interact with people rather than sit at home and drink alone. Also might have something to do with the violence we see now.
Its the same with smoking, they think they can tax people into quitting. Reality is people searching car parks for dumpers, see it all the time.
That's the Aussie government for you... Let's tax the absolute fuck out of everything we can.
You still can’t give away bud light in my town!
oh gawd sir im no criminall hahahahahahah
And we still drink 🍸 the most squirt😂😂
I thought this was supposed to be a comedy channel, not a documentary.
Australia vs New Zeland?
Favourite outro on the internet
People wil start brewing more and selling cheaper just like tobacco being taxed and chop chop tobacco came in and as someone else said in comments more people are going to steal it more. Taxing beer is very un-Australian mate, very un-Australian
I literally just made a joke abt this n u upload this 3 mins later wth but still nice
On the label it’s cheap in America, but once the tax is added it evens out 😜
theres no fucken way mate, no joke a can of jack daniels & cola is $9 at my local bottleo
real
Where my mum live the thirst camel Cohuna on the corner of market street and the Main Street they want about 70$ for a 40pack of 4x beer cand
The fukin worst pub and owners in the state a shit smeared piss stain on a great little town ,
Where you getting a carton of VB for 50 bucks I want in
U know it is a good day when Liam posts
yeee
in nz its like 30-40 for an 18 box moved over to aus n was shocked how much u guys pay ay
When I went over, I thought I was robbing you all with how cheap your premixes are. Best time ever.
American beer is basically water
I don’t know why but going into my local Dan murphys my 50 yr old mum gets id and if I’m with her the sales person ALWAYS ASKS if the alcohol is for me 💀 that’s y I don’t go with my mum to Dan murphys anymore
buds the same price, its just the alcohol and tobacco tax and as a non drinking/smoking stoner i can dig it (oh also coke/dope is someting like 8-10x the price too, cannabis is the only one that stays the same)
LMFAO
😂 well done Liam

Yeah, cheers Australia
Very good vid
Who wants to Drink AmericanRainbowButtLight anyway ?????!!!!!
lmao i bought my dad a box of 30 great northerns for $50 when i was 15 from a random liquorland.

Good thing I don’t drink 😂
Literally next to nothing is cheaper in the US now because of how shit the AUD is

Actually had to google if Dan Murphys ceo was Dan Murphy 😢
No Bud Lite scandal gag? Missed opportunity
Aus is getting pretty expensive compared to anywhere else lol
Try New Zealand lmfao
this is like if fairbairn films was alone and pure utter shithouse
I’m Aussie and no one ever said bruz when I was at school. I must be showing my age. Good content nonetheless.
Cost of everything in Australia 🤢 especially petrol
Wait till u come to new zealand then lmfao.
I can’t afford it anymore may as well have made it illegal. Then at least we’d have the cheaper option of bootleg
Liams never been to New York
American beer is watered down. Incomparable to Aussie beer.
Yay new vid ❤🎉
theyll be banning homebrew soon...
