She's not trying "to do" Dua Lipa. Doja came out with this sound before Dua did. Actually one of Dua's producers wanted Don't Stop Now to sound more like Say So by Doja lmaoo. Love both of them tho.
Doja definitely acknowledged her “cancelling”. Also, most of what people were saying was revealed to be made up.

Those were all allegations with no evidences, the accuser actually cannot provide anything, just statements but Doja addressed it and apologized even when in fact the other people with her in that chat disagreed that she's got that behavior.
This track mostly gives me "Lovefool" meets "Say So" rather than anything Dua

@@milkyteawithbiscuits3555 fun fact: Doja didn’t had another option, she signed with Dr Luke before all the mess and r*p* allegations against him. So she’s stuck in a contract with him atm. It’s not her fault.
I felt it was kind of bland on first listen too but listening to it more it definitely grows on you. It’s easy to listen to and catchy

I’m glad to be even getting 1 minute of a Doja song bc she switches it up she may sound the same but she has crazy flow and she could rap while sing Dua can’t do that and Dua doesn’t have soul. She may have a good melody but her voice isn’t powerful enough to make you feel it you know? Maybe not but it’s true
I also felt like the drums & basslline sounded a little light. It takes away a bit of the robustness but then again maybe that's the point. It's a floaty type of song, the chords are also very mellow and create a very dreamy kind of feel. Overall I think it's a really smooth pop track.

you should check out Lianne La Havas’ self titled album. It’s acoustic R&B with some of the most incredible songs i’ve EVER heard. Her rendition of Weird Fishes (by Radiohead) is out of this world. I think u would love it!!!!
You need react to MARINA’s Discography starting with the family jewels and ending with love+fear it’s really crazy seeing the development sonically and lyrically all of her albums are so different from each other it’s crazy. Btw her new Album is dropping on June 11 Ancient Dreams In A Modern Land with the lead singles already released Man’s World and Purge The Poison both amazing songs might come out to be the best album of hers!

Since when was going disco synonymous to "going Dua"? Future Nostalgia was great, but so were other disco offerings last year such as Jessie Ware's What's Your Pleasure? and Kylie' Disco.

Doja Cat is so iconic. There are few female artists in the industry that have the charisma, uniqueness, talent, and absolute nerve to do what's so outside of the typical box. Her music just hits so different to me. I still listen to her 2019 album and it sounds fresh every time.

I mean he will see the talent, but the writing on Fearless is kind of juvenile and aimed at a young audience
I think comparing it to Dua isn't the way to go. It's not really the same kind of high energy dance track and obviously vocals are a much bigger component than any Dua I've heard. I think its meant to be a very chill upbeat summer jam and as others say it does get better the more you hear it. Something about it grows on you. I liked it my first listen, but by the 10th I was obsessed.
If anything this is more comparable to 2010 pop like SuperBass and California Girls. It's called Bubblegum pop.

The song samples “Physical” by Olivia Newton-John and I feel like it was a catchy beat. A overly heavy baseline would’ve been too heavy on the track. Don’t feel like she was chasing a Dua sound (which is great but isn’t solely hers either).
The part that threw me of the first time or two that I heard the song was Doja’s rap. It was “eh” but became more tolerable the more I heard it. I wish she would had another pass at it before settling on this version. It does, however, compliment SZA’s verse so there are some pros to it.
