- Welcome to my first Color Commentary. :) I walk you through my process for coloring my webcomic "The Middle Age" which appears on GoComics, Tapas, and LINE Webtoon (or "Webtoons" as most of us call it). This coloring is done in the Procreate app on a 1st Generation iPad Pro using an Apple Pencil - and the technique works equally well in Photoshop.

Wow... just wow... your art...so beautiful.
Thank you so much
You have nice teeth 👀
Really enjoyed watching this! Also just became a patron of yours under the Vega Podcast patreon page. I'm starting my own webcomic for the sci-fi fantasy world of my podcast and your process and productivity is proving inspirational for my own. (Also, excited to see that you use Procreate!) Looking forward to more of your stuff!
Thanks so much! And extra thanks for the kind support of Patreon! I'll be posting more process videos in the coming weeks!
I would guess, that the coloring process is one of the most time consuming steps in the whole webcomic thing- How can you be that detailed and also fast? Im really Impressed !
Thanks so much! Though, I'm not particularly fast - it takes me seven-to-eight hours to color a page. I'm really trying to find a nice middle-ground between all that color and cutting that coloring-time in half.
Your art is really good, keep making webtoon related videos..
Thanks so much, Angelo! I really appreciate it!
Hey great video! Can you talk about how to make hard cover prints and stuff for our comics? For patrons and kickstarter campaigns and stuff
That's a great suggestion! I'll make sure to cover that in an upcoming video!
@@SteveConleyArt Thank you!
The graphic style of my soon-to-be webcomic is absolutely different, though a similar genre, but I still picked up a few things that I think may help me once I start full art process. Thanks for this video!
Thanks Yevvie Art! I'm glad you like it!
Hey Steve, I have a question about genres! How historical does your webtoon need to be for it to fit under the 'historical' genre?
Hi. The answer for this could be - and might be - it's own video, but, quickly, it's all about expectations. If a reader is looking for historical comics, will they feel like they've gotten that from your comic? It may be a great webcomic, but if it's not what the reader is in the mood for, they will likely be disappointed.
@@SteveConleyArt Thank you for your answer!
Steve can you do a video on Money and AD rev on webtoon?
Absolutely a topic I want to cover. Thanks for commenting!
I love this, I'd love to see more! Your comic panels are full blown illustrations in their own right, and deserve some extra time in the spotlight!
Thanks, braign! I appreciate the kind words!
So beautiful 👏👏👏
Always new things to learn! Thank you for the video 🙏❤️
You are so welcome!
