A great review thank you, I weigh around 230 lbs so I think I will look elsewhere but it still looks like a great mattress thank you very much for a well put together review.
Needs recommendation for best mattress for sitting on it ..we sit a lot on bed and need something firm while sitting but not to firm tha6it won't have pressure relief
I sold mine - it was ok but I didnt like lack of edge support and I found it far too soft and unresponsive. I'm a woman and weighed. (at the time) around 90kg
I wish you guys would use a smaller person also for reviews. I love how thorough your reviews are but after trying a few I'm starting to realize for a smaller person the firmness is completely different!
So true, the recommended ones were like concrete for me - if you are a small frame, side-sleeper and have any neck/back injuries you need a softer one - like Tempur cloud maybe
Dont bother buying it. It is my 7th night sleeping on it and I always wake up with horrible horrible back pain. Im 45 kg and side sleeper, if you are Lightweight this might not be for you. Delivery is distaster , the pillow is not comfortable. I cant say any good word about. Returning it soon.
Does it have a chemical rubbery smell? I noticed that a lot of my orthopedic memory foam pillows have some sort of chemical rubbery smell. My nose is super sensitive to smells so that's a deal breaker for me.
Wow fabulous review thank-you I was so confused about mattresses and which one between simba and Emma , I also have back pain , we will give it a go ☺️
Hi joe, thank you so much for posting this video. I was just going to buy this mattress until I noticed that you said this mattress is not good for people who sleep on their front. When falling asleep, I lay on my front however, I move a lot during the night in every position possible, I’m not sure if that’s because I am In desperate need of a new mattress and I am trying to find comfort or I just move a lot in my sleep. but I was wondering do you have any suggestions on what mattresses will be suited for me? Right now I have a traditional spring only mattress and I can not get comfy as it’s too flat and gives me back pain. I have been told to buy a firmer mattress that has memory foam (with or without springs) however I am a student who’s never bought a mattress before and I don’t not want to spend a lot of money on a mattress that may not be good for me. I hope you see this and can help me :)
I have the Emma premium. Which is supposedly the all new one with springs. Side support is rubbish. You can feel the springs on the side. Have a feeling it will start dipping in no time. Not sure what all the fuss is about. Sending back for refund. Don’t waste your money on any mattress in a box mattresses, they are not built to last.
Looking for advice. I'm 5ft 11, 230lb and had a back operation in June 2021. Since then I've not had a pain free night sleep. I'm a heavy side/back sleeper and sleep with a partner. She is 4ft 11 110lb no back pain but also side sleeper. Any advice?? Really need to sort something ASAP
@@janicemyrick7869 Unfortunately it probably is. I need firmer support at 233 lbs. I strongly considering returning to a traditional mattress type. Sciatica friendly options. Thank you for asking.
Hi there I bought myself a Simba hybrid last night and I’m sure it’s quite a nice mattress but how does it compare to this one thanks I’m a belly sleeper mostly and a back sleeper
I tried the Sumba for two months and although I wanted a softer mattress, it was too soft and didn't have enough support under the hips. As a side sleeper and back sleeper it was comfortable for my shoulders but my hips sank in too much and it caused lower back pain. When trying to cuddle with my partner it felt like we were sinking into a hole. He is a stomach sleeper and also said it was too soft and caused back pain. We really wanted to love the Simba but we returned it after 2 months. We then bought a Casper which is more supportative and a bit firmer but still soft on top. Emma is supposed to feel very similar to the Casper. I'm still looking for something a bit softer for side sleeping so I may try the Silk &Snow Mattress now as the Casper is still a bit firm for side sleeping. But Casper and Emma I think are good for back and stomach sleepers.
I'm 100kg and it makes my back ache now. It started off fine so I think the mattress sags over time and just under a year later, alas outside of the trial period, I'm looking to replace it. I think longevity will be a problem for these mattresses especially if you're heavy. Buy cheap buy twice as they say.
Great review, we've just purchased one of these as I find our current mattress too firm and I wake up quite stiff lower back and hips. But didn't suffer when staying in hotels etc. We're both predominantly side sleepers, so reassured we've made the right purchase after watching this, would you agree? Cheers Robin
@@1gazillionsubscriberswitho68 well you won't get a reply from them despite their promise to reply in the video. Hope you like it as much we do. Take care. 👍🏻
Is it true that you can contact Emma during your trial nights and ask them to make the mattress firmer? I was told this by the sales guy when I ordered mine however im not entirely sure if it's true as I haven't looked into it / received my mattress just yet.
@@dart_ yeah I emailed them and they send you a free layer of harder foam to put in your mattress if you're still in the 100 night trial and they offered to extend my trail by two weeks 🙂
I literally wake up everyday with back ache, rib ache and hip ache. Don't understand the good reviews for this mattress. I've tried side sleeping, on the stomach and on my back. Each position is very uncomfortable. Don't get me started on the 'wooden plank' pillows!
@@mshup8753 Yea man, I agree. If u asked them to send u a comforter which is like may be 1cm thick, it is a little better but still a firm mattress. Too hard for me still. They only have good review because they were offered I think it was $50 or similar to write a good review. So is kinda fake. I am planning on putting mine in a guess room and then buy one that you can actually test in real life. If you don't have a spare room, just return the product for refund provided is less than 90 days. I just dont think is worth keeping otherwise. Not a great mattress at all, I think I only pick this one coz it was made in Germany and good reviews. Been using it for a little over 2 months now, still can't say I am used to it.
Hate this mattress, so firm and if you like that sinking feeling of a mattress don’t buy this. It’s like sleeping on concrete. It’s going back Tuesday!
I’d avoid Emma. I hated their mattress and they defaulted on their guarantee. I involved the European Consumer Centre and my Bank to force Emma to refund under their contract guarantee. Emma are a German company, despite ‘Made in U.K., advertising. They are the most dishonest company I have ever dealt with.
According to the website: Emma consists of 3 layers: 1. Breathable and adaptive Airgocell foam 2. Pressure relieving visco-elastic memory foam 3. Supportive cold foam
It was a big mistake to had chose those box mattress: 1. not cheap; 2. Looks very comfy for the firsts nights, but after a year, it started to deform e go-getting worse. I’m 70kg, and it has now a sag of 10cm when I’m lying down. I began to have low back pain (never had it before). 3. Poor customer service. When it started to deform, we got in contact and was informed it was “normal” to have some sag. As I said, it was getting worse, so recently, I did a review on Trustpilot when they finally said will have a look at it. Let's see...
Don't bother! I've only had the mattress since July 2019 and, after a only few months of use, the foam has softened considerably. This means that it's now too soft to support my back and it causes me significant pain. I don't believe these mattresses will last anywhere near 10 years! Worst mattress I've ever experienced.
Not a good company. I will never buy from them again !!! No money back and I still hope I will got my money back. No phone number to call. Not answering your emails. Just want my money back after I returned my mattress. I got no mattress and no money. Avoid.
If you paid by credit card ask your bank to do a chargeback. It takes time but should get you your money. I had to do this. It took about 4 months. Emma were totally dishonest.

I could be wrong but I think beds are subjective. Hence so many trials offered by direct to consumer mattress firms.

I really like the zoned support for pressure relief, but will it provide enough support for a 200 pound, strict sidesleeper?
