  • The Holy Bible is one example of scripture. It is an account of God's interactions and teachings with the people in and around the Eastern Mediterranean region before, during and after the ministry of Jesus Christ.
It is a collection of writings both spiritual and historical written by prophets. In the Holy Bible there are miraculous stories of faith, sacrifice, trial and love.
What about the people that lived beyond the geographical setting of the Bible outside the Mediterranean area? What kind of interaction did God have with them? Well, in the Bible from the Book of John, Jesus revealed to his disciples in Jerusalem “And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring and they shall hear my voice and there shall be one fold and one shepherd.”
Some of these other sheep to which Jesus refers are the inhabitants of the ancient Americas who lived at that time. The Book of Mormon is a compilation of the sacred writings of many generations of the people that lived there and received instruction and teachings from God. They had prophets who, just like the Bible, recorded spiritual and historical events over thousands of years and, similarly to the Bible, these stories and events were written down, collected and shared from generation to generation.
They too were eventually compiled into a book. It is called the Book of Mormon: Another testament of Jesus Christ, and like the Bible, the Book of Mormon is a collection of writings both spiritual and historical written by God's prophets.
The crowning event in the Book of Mormon is the account of Jesus Christ ministering to the other sheep as he said he would shortly after his death.

From my one past churches which is the Church of Christ. They believe baptism is necessary part of salvation to. Each step was an stepping stone in my life. One of the reasons why my transition into the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints was lots easier to accept the other teachings by faith.

The Holy Spirit bought more knowledge to me by the missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. I searched it out with questions at every discussion. All of them got answered and I accepted their teachings from the scriptures that was used and it made sense to me. I accepted it with faith at first then afterwards my testimony followed but it was bit by bit.

Thank you for sharing. It seems importance of baptism is implied in the Bible, but it is much more straightforward in the Book of Mormon. This is a great scripture

Jesus Christ said very clearly in John 3 that the completion of the ordinance of Baptism must be done. This is when Nicodemus meets Jesus Christ.

It's clear to some, but many Christian denominations don't interpret it that way.
That is why it is such a blessing to have another testament of Jesus Christ, in the Book of Mormon, that helps confirm the need for baptism.

So confused about Mormons..the Bible has many verses that say repent and be baptized..there’s even a man referred to as John the BAPTIST..not to mention Christians have practiced baptism for thousands of years before the Book of Mormon was written..there’s even many denominations that reference Baptism. In fact Southern Baptist is the world’s largest Christian Denomination..so yeah I’m very confused about this video.
Baptism is commanded in the Bible but baptism is not the thing that cleanses a person. The blood of Christ and his sacrifice is what cleanses all who put their faith in him.

We are in agreement about the need for baptism in order to be saved.
Many Christian churches disagree. They feel that baptism is a good thing to do but not necessary for salvation.

@@CalledtoShare what about the thief on the cross? And I do not agree baptism is needed for salvation..this goes against what Peter said and I can’t go against what the Apostle Peter said to go with an American man who came 2000 years after..

@@SundayVibesmusicWhen did Peter say baptism was not necessary?
1 Peter 3:21 (NRSV): 21 And baptism, which this prefigured, now saves you-not as a removal of dirt from the body, but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

@@Steelblaidd thank you for the scripture. First, notice I am all for Baptism and people being baptized..I belong to a southern Baptist church which is the largest Christian denomination..we believe in Baptism. But it does not save a person.
Everyone quotes that verse but notice the full context of the verse..
1 Peter 3:19-21 In that state He also went and made a proclamation to the spirits in prison 20 who in the past were disobedient, when God patiently waited in the DAYS OF NOAH while an ark was being prepared. In it a few-that is, eight people -WERE SAVED THROUGH WATER. 21 Baptism, 👉🏽WHICH CORRESPONDS TO THIS👈🏽 now saves you (‼️NOT THE REMOVAL OF FILTH‼️ of the flesh, BUT the pledge of a good conscience toward God) through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Peter clearly connects this to the story of Noah. It’s symbolic. Not because of my interpretation but because Peter is the one giving the example and we have to let him tell us what he means..and even if someone were to mistake his words because saying baptism saves you does sound very strong and compelling..he quickly further explains so you hopefully understand what he really means..(not that water literally saves you or cleanses you) but it’s the confession of faith or “pledge to God through the resurrection of Jesus Christ)
There are many examples like the thief on the cross, Cornelius, etc who were saved before or without literally being baptized.
Again I believe in Baptism I love baptism..but think of the OT when God commanded Jews to be circumcised. What he really wanted more than a physical ceremony was a circumcision of the heart. This is my point. I want all believers in Christ to be baptized..but let’s not lose sight of Christ blood being the focus of what cleanses us from our unrighteousness
