- Fried Gopher Rock fish caught in Morro bay California, with Captain Shawn Stamback.
Recipe as follows
1. Rock fish 8 Fillets
3. Eggs for Egg wash
4. 1 1/2 cups Flour for Breading
5. 1 Box Panko Bread Crumbs
6. Peanut oil for frying
Goes good with Cole Slaw and Tater Tots

This man knows how to eat! Looks fantastic. Place your panko in a plastic/tupperware container with a lid. Place your fish in and shake it around. No mess and you keep your panko nice and loose.
Tried the peanut oil, what a difference taste great (THANKS FOR THE VIDEO)

I got an amazing deal on my rock fish today at Fred Meyers ....I am going to fry it like I usually do my catfish. It already came seasoned by the meat department so now I just need to coat and fry....I add a little flour to my lousiana cornmeal season but I skip the egg part.
So yummmy I got rockfish from store today and glad I searched how to fry it !!!!!

Rock fish is the only fish we will eat. It is under rated. We use Golden Dip Beer batter.

Other than Panko what else could I use? It looks great by the way. ;o)
You can use literally any breading and it will taste great. Egg wash is only if you want a thick, thick crust. I don't really mess with egg wash or flour too much personally. I just throw the fish in a bag with breading, make sure it gets decently coated and then throw it in the oil.
But thats probably because I'm too hungry to bother lol.
