Main video ruclips.net/video/jeFEto6PsvY/видео.html
I didn’t know when you make an unlisted video public, RUclips changes the publish date and posts it as if it’s a brand new video. So I’m making a note here that this video was originally posted on Jan 25th 2021 with the main video. I now want to make it public so it’s easily searchable as I will be making more references to it this year (2022).
How I *WISH* that mainstream Korean media would publish something similar in a newspaper or on TV. But I am realistic enough to realize that likely will never happen.
Adeola, have you considered perhaps teaming up with British BBC or one of the major US news outlets to broadcast this internationally? More people should be made aware of this. I realize that some people will still adore KPop, and maybe even defend this blatant stealing. Others still might not even care. But this should not continue to happen with many people hiding behind the excuse that they "didn't know".
As so many others have already commented, you do a great job of reporting on issues. I thank you for the detailed and documented analysis. It is appreciated.
Happy New Year to you and I wish you ALL the best in 2022 and beyond!!
Have you seen the interview with PD Bang (Bang Si-hyuk) who openly admits that the basis for all kpop is r&b, hip-hop, and rap (and now afrobeats too)? He's the only one who's been pretty upfront. Adeola, aren't there copyright protections in place to protect artists work from being lifted like this and passed off as original? Why aren't ppl in American entertainment (i.e., black artists) pushing to stop the theft? Now you and I know that if this was reverse SK artists would sue. You can barely say anything negative about them without the threat of a slander lawsuit.
@@lilyryeo2676 Lee Sooman (founder of SM Ent), JYP, & Bang PD have all said in interviews that Black music is their base. Bang PD is not the only one.
If you are referring to Bang PD’s 2017 Wings interview, yes- I referenced that interview in at least 2 of my videos ruclips.net/video/L9Z1y1z4FYE/видео.html
ruclips.net/video/AQ0tR4RXMHY/видео.html
I have seen some Black artists make a fuss and get their royalties from Korean artists that have ripped them off before, I will talk about this in an upcoming video. Some of them never know about the theft to start with because kpop stans make sure they keep the news from getting big (clearing the searches, reporting accounts to get them suspended, harassment etc). If it’s a smaller group, it might now be worth the money to sue. I don’t know for the others.
Rain, 2017 album track no4 sunshine is another. Definitely Caribbean.
You are the boss woman on this topic, proud of you 👍🏾.
Soon people will acknowledge you for it because words are getting out louder now.
The funniest thing is that when people see non-korean in K-pop they're like "I'm so sad, K-pop is not K-pop anymore nowadays". Your "traditional k-pop" was never a thing in the first place...
RIGHT
They really said copy paste with this shit
i'm not even gonna act suprised at this point lmao kpop is just dissapointing me. like i knew kpop wasn't original but dang they don't even try to switch it up.
Faam. It’s like at least add a little bit of you at least.
Keeping the same flow and changing the lyrics doesn't make it unique....RM is lame for that.
The fact that even the dance is similar like wtfff
Dude ripped whole first part of the video and thought he could get away with it 💀
The Kendrick one just sent me because as many times as I listen to namjoon’s verse I thought Kendrick was namjoon it’s literally the same wtf
Exactly 💯
they really said ctrl+c, ctrl+v
DAMN, well there's no denying that evidence speaks for itself
The fact that they be copying us but hate on us for just the way we look but still copying our whole existence as an aesthetic to promoting themselves to the world is unforgivable and disgusting in every level sadly most of kpop fans go blind and support this faves no matter what they do
Told my little sister this
Cuz she loves them so much I'm just giving her a heads up she looks annoyed whenever I tell her so she replies with a I knowwwww
Bobby browns every little step is way better hands down!!
they didn’t even try to make it different,,,
The Copying of Black Artists is blatantly obvious at this point.
Maybe it's time that these copycats are dealt with legally.
Some of these artists are Big Names and are known worldwide, so it could be a possibility. The more Artists make noise and blow this up, maybe K-pop will think twice about copying.
I cant believe they tried to copy THE KING of r&b, sis u tried and failed
They stole the Bobby brown song😭😔😔. This is one of the reasons why as a K-pop fan, I always feel conflicted. Most times, I am actually not a fan of these artists because I can tell but I prefer those like IU.
Same! 😮💨😢😢😢
IU >>> JYP
💯💯💯✨
The fact that I didn’t even know the Rain x JYP song/dance existed until now 💀
Damn being a black kpop stan issa whole psychological warzone😭
I’m loving your channel. Thank you so much for exposing this foolishness! I hate that black people and black artist are robbed off their talent every single day. My blood is boiling.
'Every little step' is a classic R&B/pop hit that's a part of American pop culture history. How anyone thought this wouldn't be noticed is beyond me. Or did they just not care? You can't call it flattery when it's just copying.
I cannot take KPOP seriously. Someone asked me why I listened if I was so sensitive. Simple. KPOP is R&B/Hip Hop wearing a blue wig and red lipstick
Watered down versions too
Good point
You don't wanna know what German "Rap" uses from American Rap/hip hop
Is that why I didn’t even know German rap was a thing😭
How bad? 👀
OMG, that not copying, that's straight up stealing 😳
Waw JYP and Rain are really trying something that shouldn’t be tried!😂😂 are they okay? What the hell??
Every little step is my jam, i love Bobby Brown but it's very disappointing that people trying to steal our culture. I mean we are blessed to be amazing. And it really doesn't matter if you can dance or sing we are all special in a way. People who love our culture needs to aleast show respect and give credit not steal because if you keep doing that then that's your downfall. The fans of the ones who's doing wrong keeps sugarcoating them when us black fans are trying to tell them it's wrong to misuse our culture. Trying to look black, talk black, stealing our hardwork, our hairstyles is not cool. You don't see us stealing Korean culture and saying it's our. I hope one day black kpop fans talk some sense into these idols so they can stop being stupid and actually listen to what their fans say not the ones who try to tell them what they are doing isn't wrong but the black fans from around the world who is telling them to use our culture respectfully
I feel stupid for not noticing it besides having both songs in the *same* playlist 🤡
😭
JYP looks like he's gasping for air. 🤣🤣🤣
Who told them that this was ok?
The fact that Bobby's song was pariodized in Crazy ex girlfriend and I got flashbacks of It with Jay Why Pee's song tho lmao
"Twenty years old, pretty smart kid
Didn't know what I wanted to doooo"
Well damn. I would be in court faster than they could take their next breath. WTH?
Now I can see why people dont take Kpop seriously, Its literally a fucking joke.
They want our rhythm not our blues
Bro I love RM but like the flow, even the track is similar and he even used some of the same words!! I’m like disappointed ☹️ my heart just broke because black people especially black artist are always fighting for the seat at the table and a lot of non black artist benefit from black artist struggle and you would think they would do better. It’s just starting to just get to the point where I can not respect K-Pop at all. This is very disheartening.
Same, I didn’t hear Pyrex before so hearing the comparison was shocking and upsetting :’(
Rm's Rapping sounds like he's putting on the voice of a character. I wonder how many time's he's had to listen to Kendrick and rehearse Kendrick's flow in his "Rap Character" voice before he felt he got it tight :/ Rm's rapping sounded like the family dollar clearance version of Kendrick's bc he can't be imitated so easily. Kendrick's actually GIFTED....
and it was old Kendrick, when he had more of that aggressive rapping style too, you see nobody copies Kendrick now cause he evolved and they can’t keep up, and also he’s so much bigger now so it would be obvious lmao. I bet you many Kendrick “stans” wouldn’t know about the backseat freestyle or Pyrex
Yeah, it's so creepy. It's like they sit in their rooms studying black songs and music videos for hours and hours, taking notes. Ugh
There's a huge difference between sampling a sound and plain stealing. This is clearly the latter.
You should have put "good thing" by NCT 127 too, SM didn't even credit gangsta lovin' by Eve and Alicia Keys
Thanks for letting me know, I’ll look into it
@@AdeolaAsh You're welcome ☺️
It’s the Korean equivalent of sampling. 😂😂😂
I think RUclips is highkey hiding your videos. I didn’t even know this video existed and I frequent your videos often and I know for a fact I would know about the notifs which I don’t even get anymore 😭I thought you stopped uploading
I literally loved switch to me but then that all went out the window when i was watching it and my mom said "are they doing the bobby brown dance" no at least i didnt think so but no they are
.The fact that y'all are shocked is hilarious to me. lol
we are the blueprint
Lmao damn they steal everything. And that is the smallest waste I’ve ever seen on a man and he’s wearing a crop top
Bunch of evidences here👀 interestinggg...how can you copy a person's work EXACTLYYY like this?!! Omg
Now if someone copy kpop ( I am not saying plagrism is ok but ) kpop Stan will gonna rip off those artist
This pisses me off…like…they straight open copying and pasting black artist’s work and then acting like they the ones that came Up with it
Stealing from people you constantly discriminate... Interesting.
They really tried it huh. I’m tired of the rip offs
And then they'll turn around and say, "no blacks allowed". These koreans, boy, i tell ya!
Straightforward sis! 👏👏👏
HOW IS THIS NOT MORE KNOWN. F***KING HOW. I'm brown, I stanned BTS for 10 whole months and now I feel like an idiot
Same
0:22 if you focus on the background music rm's one is literally the same background music as kendrick's
omfg they legit took these songs- wtf really?! come on guys wtf at least give credit to the people you stole from!!
The Rm one the the lyrics even should the same. If you read it side by side
No two ways about it, this a straight up rip-off of both Kendrick and Bobby.....
THE FLAVOUR! THE FLAVOUR!
What the hell! So similar!
Damn that is just fucked up so much for the talent
Whoah nearly identical, thankyou for the information💕
Tysm
Its a big WTF
Outrageous.
Kpop really is a joke.
No surprised for RM, this group often make songs sound so similar. I used to like them.
For Bobby brown, that's really sad.
What's going on JYP?
fucking sad ......... lawsuit should follow
Lol the dancing is horrible, but am giving a d+ for effort. Smh, Everybody wants to be black! Then goes around n hate the same people they are ripping from...
And people even have the boldness of calling RM a hero of the kpop 🤣 how fine I never liked him.
I - 🤦🏾♀️
Its ok to get inspiration for other artist but copying the whole thing its just too dam much the bobby brown shit was insane to me just fucking why i wonder if bobby know about this 😳
reupload?
No 😭 it was uploaded since January 2021 but I had it as “unlisted” and linked it under the main video since this is the supplementary video ruclips.net/video/jeFEto6PsvY/видео.html I just made it unlisted since I’m going to be referencing it this year, I didn’t know RUclips would post it like a brand new video and notify everyone 🤦🏾♀️
@@AdeolaAsh ohhh 😅
Funny how most people think that this is good and "cool". bts becoming the "greatest boy group" today by copying from black artist.
Well 🤦🏾♀️
I thought this was a cover ? Ain't no way Joon copied word for word.....
K pops entire genre is stealing I’m confused on how any of those people are famous 😂😂😂
Everyday, I get more and more disappointed and I'm finding it really difficult to even like kpop anymore. This just shows that these kpop artists don't actually work hard like they claim to do. They go through years of training just to sound mediocre and steal from us, mock us and our culture, then turn around and blame it on ignorance when they get called out.
Then they get mad when we don't take them seriously, but how can we if they're always wanting to steal from us. Then they want to go international thinking they can slide with this shit? What makes it worse is the racist fanbases that want to sweep all of this under the rug just to make their idol look perfect.
Every time us blacks do our own thing, we get frowned upon, hated and called trashy. But then the same people that hate us copy everything and suddenly its trendy.
Kpop ain't even original. They don't have their own sound and it shows. A fucking joke is what I see.
I lost so much respect for BTS honestly... obviously instrumentalizing black culture, hoping on trends just like everybody else.
99%of bts songs sound the same to many black songs I have heard
But Nam didn't copy Lamar, did he? I understood that they used a sample, something like that I had read a long time ago
Yes, Namjoon copied Kendrick. No, it wasn’t a legal sample.
No. He copied him. There's no sample of this or anything. And kendrick is not the only artist they copied from, there are alot of others. The sad thing is that they profit off of these things.
@@zelda7059 which other ones? Give some examples, asking out of curiosity
Kpop is one of my main source of happiness but this black music issue us not helping me as a black girl. I mean if they give credits I'll be fine...
Bts can never be original
