King Troy: As with the resell value of any item, it truly depends on what the buyer is willing to pay. What she is pointing out is the greater the alterations to the watch the less "vintage" appeal the watch has for some resell buyers/collectors. However this does not necessarily mean the value greatly deprecates as there are numerous contributing factors, its simply means the resell demographic diminishes which could cause a seller to reduce the selling price of the watch.

LA Benward You apparently know nothing about watches.... The warranty becomes void if you add aftermarket anything so that card means nothing, plus rolex would then never touch it.... And if you want a factory diamond piece go to any AD! only pieces that are hard to get rite now (and their really not) are the steel sports models and daytonas!
Oyster perpetuals, steel date-just, ladies two tone pieces, solid gold, and diamond set pieces are are fairly common to see in case still!

I know anshit load about watches I own 2 Rolex's my self one from and AD and the other one from an after market dealer and my watch that was bought from the non-AD was inspected my an AD cracked open and confi5to have the right movement and to be a real Rolex and it was already out of warranty. As I said there selling to a demographic who doesn't care about warra5they just want some ice in there wrist.
@@labenward373 Rolex fully "icing out" a piece would be at least $100k. Far cry from the $25k they're selling this junk for. The modded watches still cost a lot (if they are real), but they are devalued compared to a factory version. I saw a DJ with 8 carats of diamonds selling for half the cost of a the new factory watch. Mature discerning shoppers would steer clear. I also like the experience of buying from an AD. Literal "white glove service".
@@S5King7 not necessarily so, these watches are all after market (I'll assume) so even if they where $100k when they where made they will not stay at $100k just like car watches have up and down values.

I DIDN'T KNOW, that if a person bought an $50k piece, ice it out with $20/$30 more, and if they wanted to sell it ,that they ARE NOT going to get anywhere close to what they PAID. For the most part yes. Unless they're factory diamonds, which means they come straight from the company set with diamonds. Most the time aftermarket (set by a 3rd party jeweler) decreases the value.
