I got to see this in person recently and the video fails to capture the energy from the crowd. It really is something to experience: schoolgirls running up and down with giant Indian flags, people dancing to bhangra music, and, while security is tight, the guards are the nicest people in the world. There is no sense of animosity towards Pakistan. It's a sense of the two groups working together to close the border for the night. They shake hands and salute each other, like 'job well done'.
There is no need for Canada and USA to share handshakes when you're already best buddies. India and Pakistan need this daily to tell each other nuclear war has been averted for another 24 hours.
thanks bro for the information. One day i hope that both prime minister will come to their senses and have a cup of chai at the border. Why waste time to wage war when we can live in harmony. Defence budget can be used to end starvation and poverty in both county.
Just like that, nuclear war is averted for another 24 hours. Just imagine the stakes they're at... if any trooper on either side steps over the white line, it's WAR.
I love this ceremony. Far from being silly, it has been transformed from a symbol of mutual hatred to one of mutual respect. See that handshake? The careful choreography? The matching uniforms? These aren't accidents....
both Indians and Pakistanis. let us be proud that this kind of border ceremony can never happen in anywhere around the World... thumbs up, if you agree...
Makes you wonder how this tradition got started. "I can walk silly!" "Well, I can walk sillier!" "Well, my mustache is bigger" "My mustache puts your to shame"
Juha J. what is sunni or siya???our nabi karim(s:) kavi siya sunni kiye the kya??to kyun??kya jo batwara karte he wo alag he???kya ALLAH SUBHANOATALA batwara karne kaha he???
Well i visited wagha border it was one hell of feelings..I also met four indian sikhs..they were from india but we became friends..i enjoyed my time in lahore..Lahore lahore hai!
INDIA IS sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic, assuring its citizens of justice, equality, and liberty and, endeavors to promote among them all, fraternity
Honestly, seeing these words uttered on BBC of all places did upset my stomach. The British, who put this country in chains and exploited it, are the last people on earth who should talk down on how this looks etc. But I guess wearing fuzzy oil barrels as a hat is high culture…💂♂️
I went there last summer. It was bananas lol. Most of the people are tourists from other parts of India that come in bus loads. The Pakistan side was quite empty though. It's impossible not to feel that pride for your country there. Now they are building so many hotels and high rises in the area so it will become quite the attraction soon.
This is so sick!!! Freakin’ awesome!! I would love to see this in person, one day! Americans have a lot to learn about pride and patriotism from them!!
@Manan991 ... hey Manan.... good to see you friend.... We all are brothers... but separated... :( ... I am really missing you all frnds... We should stay unitedly... I Love My Country... Jai Hind..! God bless you...! Peace 4 all :) ...!
This was done as a measure of promoting "lasting peace" and was acknowledged by many observers as a sign of maturity by India. But some in India felt that the treaty had been too lenient to Bhutto, who had pleaded for leniency, arguing that the fragile democracy in Pakistan would crumble if the accord was perceived as being overly harsh by Pakistanis and that he would be accused of losing Kashmir in addition to the loss of East Pakistan[7
Good to see. Atleast these two countries show oneness in doing the ending ceremony same way at same time. Sad to have fight between own brothers. And I love the thing happening @ 3:15 :) .. Jai Hind!!....... Vivek
@BDOST I know that India is a secular country and an undeniable parliamentary democracy which has never being disputed, inspite of the serious problems. I was only refering to the dominant religion of India towards which, i must admit that i feel sympathetic, inspite of being an agnostic myself.
Every Pakistani is Indian there is no reason to get worked up who is better cause both Pakistanis and Indians share the same roots. Pakistanis and Indians originate from the same country and share many things just be one and stick up for each other no reason to be hating on each other.
@andikatjacobdennis Thank You brother, For a first timer it is very exciting and emotional occasion but if you go to that place more than once, everything seems pretty normal. These soldiers just show off to entertain audience on both sides.
I just wonder what sense does it make to show so much of hostility and hatred in body language by the guards. Can't they just be friendly and exchange good wishes to each other. I wish sense and peace will prevail over both sides of border. Peace Sanjay
i went to this before it was pretty damn cool i was on the india side of the border it was alot of fun but i could see that the pakistan side was in a more serious tone lol glad i was on the side that was having more fun
It could have been incredible event if they were doing such thing in LOC instead of fighting with bullets, where they are diehard enemy of each other....
@adnansaami Everyday except on tense days between India and Pakistan. If you want to see the ceremony from Pak side, start from Lahore (35 km from the city center). The important part of the flag-ceremony is that the groups of soldiers were trained by one British Officer after partition. Therefore, it seems to be a well-choreographed event.

We should do this with the Canadians
It's just them blasting Rush and us blasting Slayer
Canada and Mexico
It looks too fun
You *don't??*
We do, ever see the movie Super Troopers 2? 🤣
There is no need for Canada and USA to share handshakes when you're already best buddies. India and Pakistan need this daily to tell each other nuclear war has been averted for another 24 hours.
You can smile as much as you want at this ceremony. But I wish there was something similar in every nation rather than wars
Love the handshake at the end of the ceremony...
They actually shake hands twice. Roughly at the beginning, and at the end.
thanks bro for the information. One day i hope that both prime minister will come to their senses and have a cup of chai at the border. Why waste time to wage war when we can live in harmony. Defence budget can be used to end starvation and poverty in both county.

Best part. And the crowd cheering immediately after

I am a Pakistani and from my side no grudges for India :-) love you all
Pak-sir-zameen ZINDABAD
Proud to Be a Pakistani
Both India and Pakistan Zindabad. I agree with Euphony.
...Heartening to see people actually clap when the guards shake hands !!!
I love this ceremony. Far from being silly, it has been transformed from a symbol of mutual hatred to one of mutual respect. See that handshake? The careful choreography? The matching uniforms? These aren't accidents....
That was quite possibly the coolest thing I've seen on RUclips. Respect to my friends in Pakistan and India.
both Indians and Pakistanis.
let us be proud that this kind of border ceremony can never happen in anywhere around the World...
thumbs up, if you agree...
Makes you wonder how this tradition got started.
"I can walk silly!"
"Well, I can walk sillier!"
"Well, my mustache is bigger"
"My mustache puts your to shame"
The British
They shake hands at the end, a great gesture, hand shake of peace and friendship.

when they shook hands the most beautiful moment
Cant believe I only found out about this from Always Sunny. --- Such a fierce and odd and intense ceremony.
Juha J. what is sunni or siya???our nabi karim(s:) kavi siya sunni kiye the kya??to kyun??kya jo batwara karte he wo alag he???kya ALLAH SUBHANOATALA batwara karne kaha he???

They are enemies, rivals and brothers...
Hindustan Zindabad !! ..... Jeete ga bhai, Jeeta ga , India .. Jeeta ga !.!!!
3:14 is absolutely beautiful
Indian and Pakistani brother shake hands...why can't we all just be in peace?!
India and pakistan are made to be together,
they fight like newly wed couple.
Nationalism never looked more FAAAAAAAABULOUS!
These people should be living in one country, they have so much in common!
Well i visited wagha border it was one hell of feelings..I also met four indian sikhs..they were from india but we became friends..i enjoyed my time in lahore..Lahore lahore hai!
Constant conflict seems to be a way to avoid war
“You have to get approval from the Ministry of Silly Walks”..... and a good orthopedic surgeon.
INDIA IS
sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic, assuring its citizens of justice, equality, and liberty and, endeavors to promote among them all, fraternity
Apparently those who call it 'idiotic' 'rediculous' or any other offensive word don't understand the term 'culture'
It comes from British Culture actually
Honestly, seeing these words uttered on BBC of all places did upset my stomach. The British, who put this country in chains and exploited it, are the last people on earth who should talk down on how this looks etc.
But I guess wearing fuzzy oil barrels as a hat is high culture…💂♂️
man patriotic people of both the sides
LOL. What a fun ceremony. Best chuckle I've had in ages.
Главное что у всех Калашников! А Калашников это всегда круто!
I went there last summer. It was bananas lol. Most of the people are tourists from other parts of India that come in bus loads. The Pakistan side was quite empty though. Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia brought me here..
Me too lol
I think the Pakistanis win the cool Peacocking competition.
I like the action at 3:15, which is the Hand shaking
finally someone who is speaking sensibly!
It's a fair bit less silly than the Buckingham Palace guards, considering these blokes guard an actual border with actual tension.
We really need to have this on the entire mexican-us border, and the canada border. This would fix the border crossing issue.
Cérémonie du poste frontière de Wagah entre l'Inde et le Pakistan - Très étonnante !

It's almost like a carnival... maybe like a soccer match atmosphere!
Hindustan Zindabad !!
One of the biggest cheers was when they shake hands at 3:15...
i love when they shake hands...NO WAY this would happen at the DMZ...if only, though.
Как часто это происходит?
Oh and JAI HIND!
Goodness gracious Sanjeev! Welcome to India. Are you folks still live in 42?

This is a great goodness!
You are absolutely right !!!
I know a few indians who are v v good friends of Pakistanis
May the hatred End Soon !!!

That's a fact and you are right on that my friend ...
Good to see. Atleast these two countries show oneness in doing the ending ceremony same way at same time. Sad to have fight between own brothers. And I love the thing happening @ 3:15 :) ..

Bahut khoob farmaya aapne contraxji! Insallah.
Hey...the guards were magnificant on both sides. Quit fighting long enough to enjoy the video.
2:21 what a voice
@0:59 what are they shouting??
@andikatjacobdennis glad to see both of you big headed people get along
What kind of boots do they wear, if it survives this punishment on a daily basis it must be recommended for the school kids as well.
Salesmen, salesmen too deserve good shoes.

Two nuclear armed strutting peacocks.
What are they shouting with the one with micro phone??
@andikatjacobdennis Thank You brother, For a first timer it is very exciting and emotional occasion but if you go to that place more than once, everything seems pretty normal. These soldiers just show off to entertain audience on both sides.
Very fun. I hope stuff like this can keep the peace.

Hindustan zindabad
インド・パキスタンのワガー国境で行われるこのセレモニー。バッキンガム宮殿の衛兵交代以上のショー。両国すごく仲悪いんだけれど、最後の握手がかわいすぎる。
I just wonder what sense does it make to show so much of hostility and hatred in body language by the guards. Can't they just be friendly and exchange good wishes to each other.
I wish sense and peace will prevail over both sides of border.
Peace
Sanjay
Well said brother.......
The British have defiantly left their mark on military drill in the sub continent. I'd love to see how this ceremony came to be what it is now.
"Its four F's, i didnt know it was gonna turn out like that"
india and Pakistan should unite again
I loved 3:15 !! And thats how it should be.
i went to this before it was pretty damn cool i was on the india side of the border it was alot of fun but i could see that the pakistan side was in a more serious tone lol glad i was on the side that was having more fun
@aar2pee is right. However, with this ceremony, one has to admit it is good for a laugh (sorry). What a sight! What a sound! What people! Wow!
1:15 what a magnificent mustache. I am truly jealous.
lmao
go ceremony for the tourist.
It could have been incredible event if they were doing such thing in LOC instead of fighting with bullets, where they are diehard enemy of each other....

Очень трогательно. Сначала Британия делит страну, а потом тренирует участников шоу на границе. Браво, Great Britain 🎉
