  • Khayelitsha holds a special place in the hearts of millions of South Africans. Join us as we explore the area with the help of local business owners, entrepreneurs and movers and shakers who are showcasing the best of what Khayelitsha has to offer to the world.
We start and end with Siyanda Sopangisa (co-founder of the Khayelitsha Canoe Club), who shares with us his view that Khayelitsha welcomes everyone with open arms in the spirit of Ubuntu.
Next, we stop by the artisanal coffee shop Department of Coffee, which Wongama Balani (Partner: Department of Coffee) hopes to build up into the Starbucks of South Africa.
At the 18 Gangster Museum Wandile Nqeketho shows us how tourism is helpful to the area. Nomalungelo Sotyingwe (Owner of Lungi's B&B) welcomes us to her B&B where tourist and locals from all over the world can experience true Khayelitsha hospitality.
Entrepreneur and artist Golden Nongauza demonstrates how he creates flowers out of cans and Juma Mkwela (Juma Art Tours) takes us through the streets of Khayelitsha to show us the colourful art around the township.

For 20 years on my yearly visits to cape town I always stay in Khayelitsha (being white, only a tourist and not involved in any kind of charity) and I found that only in that area I find what I think is african spirit. Cape town overall is beautiful but africa can only be found in Khayelitsha and the other black communities like Langa or Gugulethu.

This is the reason why many of us love living in Khayelitsha. We have hope and dreams for our community. It's going to take a lot for us to get it where we want it to be but it surely will get that, and in our generation. QONDILE!!

I believe that the place is worth more as agriculture fields and orchids! And relocating Mitchell Plains and Khayelitsha Residential Infrastructure and businesses West Centurion City District To Salahdra Bay ! The prospect of over 300 miles of CAPE LANDS Agriculture Fields and Livestock , Ecological Fishery's and new estatuaries of micro organic farming

I was thinking one if Mitchell Plains and Khayelitsha Townships relocate together to Salahdra Bay area and remaining Salahdra Bay To North CAPETOWN metropolitan city. Centurion Metropolitan City* Billion dollars a year business is every businessmen dream of coordinating ! I ROBOT no it is you whom stand on the hill *
