Justine Giles does not want to overdo it. Quite the opposite, in fact. In an era - and a business - where quality often takes a backseat to quantity and artists are expected to constantly crank out new music, the Alberta alt-country singer-songwriter prefers to take a slow, steady and methodical approach to her craft. Case in point: Her latest EP Another Chance. True to its title, the five-song release resurrects the handful of singles she's released since 2022, along with one new song and an acoustic version of another number. Shortly after Another Chance arrived, Giles Zoomed in from her Calgary home to talk about her less-is-more approach, her musical upbringing, writing songs about chicken nuggets and more. Enjoy.
