it's funny that Disney claimed at animated every cell by hand and never stooped to H-B's level because they sneered at them at wouldn't consider them compilation, yet here they are taking the same short cuts. The H-B sound effects work really well here btw, good job

1:07 Glad you pointed that out. I hardly ever noticed that when I saw it as a kid, mostly due to insufficient literacy, especially with the small, slightly blurred text, along with paying more attention to the characters marching. Of course, Don Bluth was heavily influenced into becoming an animator from seeing Snow White in the theaters when he was four (I wonder if that explains the recycled animation for the dancing scene in which you put the audio from that scene into). I can also see why there's a "wow, that's pretty surprising" kind of tone in the indicator, since he ended up quitting Disney during production of The Fox and the Hound, which led to the film's release being delayed and having to hire newer animators to fill in the void. It was due to his belief that the animated Disney films he worked on, including this one, didn't live up to the same potential as the ones that were made when Walt was still alive, so Bluth decided to form his own his own studio known for making some of the notable animated films we know and love!

I just needed to add that, at the time this RUclips Poop was uploaded, it was the 40th anniversary OF Robin Hood, which happened on November 8 (a day after your 25th birthday), and it was also the 10th anniversary of Finding Nemo on May 30. I celebrated the 15th anniversary of that film on that day, two years ago (2018).

    • @ZakWolf
      @ZakWolf  4 года назад +5

Yeah, I partly made this YTP in honor of the 40th anniversary of "Robin Hood." But I could care less about a cliched CGI talking animal movie that had a part to play in the downfall of the Looney Tunes.

    • @arenjtumastens

I see. Edit: And I also just realized that it was ALSO the 50th anniversary of The Sword in the Stone on Christmas Day that year. I watch it on that holiday each year to celebrate. It's even the release of the Toy Story 2 Outtakes in 1999, so last year was their 20th anniversary (which I also celebrated).

    • @arenjtumastens

AND, I would have to ALSO point out that in 2013, it was also the 30th anniversary of Luigi (who, of course we see at the beginning of this video), and they celebrated with a re-release of Super Luigi Bros. for the Arcade, included on the latest Mario game at the time, Super Mario 3D World, both of which I've played.

This, Dan, (or should I say, Zak?) is one of my favorite RUclips Poops and one of my favorites from your channel, as well as two of my favorite overall videos from said channel. Quick fun fact: Your birthday is actually a day before the former release date of Robin Hood in 1973. You were also born a day before the film's 15th anniversary. Rather perfect, early timing isn't it?
Also, a few facts about me. I've been watching your channel for a few years, and it's one of my favorites on RUclips. I always like to keep up to date with anything new that you do. Out of the videos you do, the kinds that are my favorites are the read along reviews, Vlogs, RUclips Poops, Let's Play's, the videos where you dress up like Zeke Wolf, Zak Wolf, Scooby Doo, and even Wile E. Coyote, music videos, anniversary videos, and occasionally, Anthro New England.
Also, also, I have a special ability of memorizing movies and TV shows (mostly Disney, Pixar, and other cartoons) complete with perfect impressions of the characters, sound effects, and music. I have done it since I was a kid, probably during 1st grade or earlier. I was surprised when I found myself performing that skill, but I took it to my advantage, improved on it, and learned many other impressions throughout the years. My friends and family from where I live all know about and enjoy it. I'm even still using it to this day. Some of my favorite films to memorize (as I said once in elementary school) are Finding Nemo and The Spongebob Squarepants Movie.
Another/last thing, I usually enjoy seeing some of your videos that focus on specific shows and films, like Arthur, Robin Hood, Sesame Street, Inspector Gadget, Disney's Three Little Pigs, Scooby Doo, and anything else I can think of.

    • @arenjtumastens
      @arenjtumastens 4 года назад +5

P.S. As a kid, I was always able to spot wherever Reused and Recycled Animation was used in any cartoon and film, especially if it was Disney. So, as for the 'Phony King of England' song sequences in Robin Hood, I recognized every scene that was recycled from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Jungle Book, and The Aristocats.

  • @arenjtumastens

This was uploaded a couple years before Yosemite Sam's 70th anniversary.
0:00-0:17 1988 Walt Disney Classics logo (out of center version, and changed to Hanna Barbera Classics) with Mario's and Luigi's inclusions
0:21-0:34 Scooby Doo dance music. AND, I've noticed that opening credits for Disney films from the 60's and 70's always happen to be long-running, particularly the ones for One Hundred and One Dalmatians, and Robin Hood, and even The Jungle Book, The Aristocats, and The Rescuers. AND even The Fox and the Hound (which was in 1981).
1:30-1:33 Where's that line from? Edit: I just recalled that it was the Yogi Bear quote.
1:39 And we DO! Weird thing is, sometimes they're wearing pants, sometimes they AREN'T. What is UP with that?! (Also, I always like whenever they use that accompanying music.)
1:58 I knew that was an homage when I first saw that scene.
    2:08-2:19 Where's that music from?
2:21-2:26 Pokemon audio (Battle Aboard the St. Anne)
5:05 His badge is on the wrong side! (We know why.)
    6:06 Scooby Doo transition
6:07-6:20 I always hate that song, ever since I was a kid. Every time I hear it, I cover my ears (except during movies and shows). And when again did it get copyrighted? Also, 6:12 no lip sync! Plus, where did that line 6:17-6:20 come from?
6:41 Almost want to use that 'Age-old Mask Device' gag.
7:17-7:20 familiar song, and, What's a cactus doing there?!
    8:48-8:50 Who said that line?
9:26 He blew up the arrow! and we know what Merida did during that one moment in Brave (another Disney film using archery, and a protagonist who loves to perform it, I just realized).
10:18-10:21 One of the big moments in the film. It's always used during the Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection promos, which were where I first saw the film.
    10:46-10:49 Alice In Wonderland reference
10:59-11:01 I always find it funny how SHE would be the one to do that to Trigger.
11:35-11:36 Reused opening credits animation. (Goof: Little John's not in his Sir Reginald disguise.)
11:38-11:41 More The Jungle Book stock footage and sound effects.
11:41 more reused opening credits animation which was paired with 11:35-11:36.
12:16-12:18 same Scooby Doo dance music
12:21-12:31 and 13:32-13:49 The audio tracks don't match with the correct recycled footage scenes.
13:59-14:08 more Hamster Dance (with Baloo audio)
What was that sound at 14:08-14:09?

*sigh* When I was a kid this was just a movie with cartoon talking animals playing all the parts of Robin Hood because cartoon humans would have been so *bor-ing*. And now, because of furries, all the innocence and wholesomeness of Disney characters has been forever tainted. Thanks a lot. -_-

Seriously, this YTP was HILARIOUS! xP
I must ask, though, are you at all related with the uploader of "Winnie the Pooh on Budget Cuts"? Because he made the exact same joke about pointing out Don Bluth being a part of the movie's animation. Literally, same font and wording, just white instead of your yellow. :P
