My wife and I met Earl Anthony and Mark Roth at Gable House Bowl in Torrance at a PBA tournament…..Not only was Earl Anthony a great Bowler , He was also a total gentlemen to my wife and I, He chatted a bit, welcomed us, smiled shook our hands…….Greatest Bowler and Greatest Professional ever !
Earl was the best ever to bowl in the PBA...he still is the best ever...they're saying Walter is because he accumulated 47 titles, 4 more than Earl, but it took him 30+ years to do it...Earl won 43 in 14 seasons plus the 1984 Masters...who else could perform that feat? Throw in 10 major titles in such a short span, and you have the greatness written all over Earl...
Earl Anthony is the Babe Ruth of bowling. He exemplified class, sportsmanship, and excellence. As a matter of fact, he's more to bowling than Babe was to baseball. He's the best, then come the rest.
I bowled with Earl Anthony in a Pro/Am tournament. It was a fluke I was in it as I'd bowled my one and only 200 game the week of qualifying in my bowling league. I didn't even know it was a qualifying week as I was sick and had a fever that day but went anyway. I think it was 1983. Oh, and I was horrible when I bowled with Anthony. So embarrassing! lol
Earl is like the Greg maddux of bowling doesn't over power you but can control the ball put it where he wants it if he makes a mistake it usually isn't a bad one a home run or difficult spare !

Was my favorite bowler back in the day, saw him bowl in a couple of tournaments here in town back in the 80's. So smooth. RIP
I loved watching Earl Anthony bowl back in the day.

Big fan of Earl Anthony as a kid. Even though I'm a right hander, I have the same style.

Anthony was always sooo smoooth !! Fun to watch .
Just as Roger Federer is the most aesthetically pleasing tennis player, Earl Anthony is the same as a bowler. Hence, he is a pleasure to watch.

Very nice men an good ambassadors the
Sport
Once Earl got a 46 pin lead, it was "Goodnight, Irene". Just cruise control for the greatest afterwards. Then again, he was always in cruise control.
Eral rolls the ball to the pocket, Mark throws at it.
