I want to buy a CATALYST 9117AX SERIES. 1. Which model should I buy? A. C9117AXI-B B. C9117AXI-EWC-B 2. Where do you recommend for a consumer to buy one. Are they just coming pre flashed with EWC and can't the B model just be flashed to have the EWC? Thanks for all your help, you are one of the few on youtube with such detail and clarity! Huge thank you.
Hey there! Thanks for reaching out. Yeah the only difference between the AXI & AXI-EWC is whether or not the EWC comes pre-loaded by default. That being said, yes you can flash the EWC to the regular model as well - which is what I did in this video! For consumer purchase? Maybe Amazon ( amzn.to/3kyn5XI ) or something. Ebay might also be an option, if there are any good used/refurb models. I'll also mention that the 9117 was just announced for upcoming EOS/EOL, since it was a pre-standard wifi 6 AP. That may mean there will be more used available, as people refresh to the wifi 6 certified APs.
