My cat back then brought me so many mice and stared at me expecting me to eat them, a shame we don't share the same diet :"D She was an amazing cat. She calmed me down when I was crying, helped me to sleep and even attacked my parents if they put their hands on me. Needless to say my parents didn't dare to get close to me when the cat was sitting on my lap and watching their every move intently lol. A guardian cat.

cats are naturally light sleepers because they need to be aware of predators, and since your cat thinks you're also a cat. It gets worried when you sleep because they are not sure if you are alive. So they check on you to see if you are alive. Which is also why they can be extra affectionate in the morning because they are happy you didn't die. :) Or so ive heard

Our kitty used to beg for food to the point where it really bothered my mom. We got a timed feeder, and that really helped cut down on the stress because our kitty realized that my mom was no longer in charge of giving her the food. Feeding can be a bonding time, and I understand that it may not always be best to give up that responsibility to a machine, but in our case it was quite helpful. :)
God yes mine saved my relationship with my cat!! we love to make jokes about this but when it’s day after day and makes you sleep deprived and unwell it really stops being funny 😭 also there are so many other ways to bond with your cat, my fav one is brushing mine to get rid of excess hair while hugging.

This was so funny and cute! My mom loves to tell the story of her old cat, who one night brought her a mouse and dropped it on her in bed! It was still alive, so my mom was screaming and it ran away, and they never found it! She'd also find the heads and tails that the cat had bitten off of tiny lizards in the garage (they lived in Florida, apparently there's lil lizards everywhere). Cats bring you gifts because they love you! Or they just think you're stupid and can't hunt, LOL.
Dude I feel you. My cat wakes me up to let her under the covers. I can ignore her and she will creep ever so closer to me and meow about a half dozen times and some may be loud and some may not be. Then she proceeds to wait until I give in and let her in. Some times she is fast and other times she lingers till I push her in. When i ingnore her long enough or when she is cold and just wants in she uses her paw on my head, cheeks, ears and what ever part of my head that is exposed and reaches out want extends the claws ever so lightly. When this does not work she proceeds to hit me several times then digs her head in to any open spot on the blanket and makes her way in. She is so demaning that she has a heating pad on my desk along with a bed, food, water, and treats. She has a foot rest under the desk in which she lays on and in some cases lays on my feet. She also tends to sit right on my mouse hand and she knows that i need to move said hand as i have picked her up and moved her away many times and she comes right back. She is such a good old girl, will be sad when she does pass which wont be more than a couple more years as she is more than 15 plus years old now.
My mom was deathly afraid of birds as well, since childhood. She eventually got over her phobia but it took many months of getting up close to my pet cockatiel, and running out of the building if he so much as moved. I still remember the day she touched him the first time. She was shocked at how soft he was. I hope Samwise leaves the birds alone and you don't have to wake up in terror!

Oh no.......maybe this is why I don't sleep the best. I consume absurd amounts of chocolate on a regular basis. Not always before bed but just...in general. Now I kinda want to do my own experiment and see if I abstain from chocolate for a few weeks if my sleep improves...🤔 (But not this week because I made Alvin's 100-hour brownies and I'm going to try them today lol)
Oh and also you're right - white chocolate is garbage. It's basically just by-products of chocolate making and other ingredients. No actual cocoa. Mostly cocoa butter, sugar, and milk solids. As I'm sure you found out lol.
