Well, for one thing, she was lying when she said she didn't specifically remember Trump's categorization of countries in Africa. A few days before the hearing, I overheard her confiding in a friend something to the effect of "I can't believe Trump called them 'shithole countries' in front of Durbin." Hours after the hearing, I overheard her saying something like "We'd better get our agenda done. I'd hate to think I lied to Congress for nothing."

You say "I can't remember" when you're questioned like this as a matter of legal insulation. Attorneys will advise you to do this when being questioned because it is much safer than saying "I know for sure this wasn't said". That aside it's hilarious watching the tantrums over these alleged comments. Regardless of whether Trump said the statement those countries he mentioned are shitholes because of their corrupt governments and violent regimes (of course the left makes it about race). God forbid we should bring in people that would assimilate better into the country. Why not just have people pour in from countries where they don't believe in property rights, freedom of speech, and separation of church and state.. that would serve our best interests huh? I’m Puerto Rican and not afraid to say it, but what is sad is the great nation of USA with two major political groups fighting each other and not much has been done for a year. When you finally hear positive news from the President is like fourth of July because next day a new storm is coming. You can blame democrats or the good old GOP but is all drama, confusion and to this point still, a freak show usually starting from the Executive Branch all the way down. Soon you might have a government shutdown. Every available opportunity to do a great thing right before a new drama comes up. If people endup in a disagreement they just say, “fake news” with no supporting statement or clear explanation. To be fair you can validate the fact that PR now qualifies as a shithole, but at least we know who we are, how to fix it, and we don’t lie about it all the time. How many of us would still have our jobs if when asked about something that happened a week ago, made so many comments of not remembering. I was made to answer questions one time and it was about things that happened 15 and 20 years ago and a lot of it I didn't remember. On that, I was judged as lying. They felt I still remembered, I just didn't want to answer. That was not true but that was the judgement I was judged with. I'm wondering why the judgement on these people is so light.

I do find it odd that she danced around the questions to a degree I would not find admissible. She spoke very eloquently and felt rehearsed to me, I understand how subjective this opinion is. It is however, an opinion. I did enjoy Durbin's approach, it felt very sincere, and I do desire a bipartisan bill as he does. I do not agree with our two party system, but if there is only two parties, both should be involved. Why so much confrontation without any resolve, and where is the diplomacy involved? If monetary values are not the issue, than I would like to no the loop holes so predominantly mentioned. If it is a major focus, please show us.
