    Here's the latest in Helldivers 2 News!
    Arrowhead revealed the outlines for their next patch scheduled for September 17, and there are MASSIVE changes here to much of the game. Armor Penetration, enemy health, primary weapon buffs, stratagem buffs and reductions to most Heavy Enemies are outlined here in the notes.
    "Over Buffing" could be a simple term used to describe these upcoming changes, but Helldivers 2 needs this kind of jolt to the system!

    HELLDIVERS™ 2 is a 3rd person squad-based shooter that sees the elite forces of the Helldivers battling to win an intergalactic struggle to rid the galaxy of the rising alien threats. From a 3rd person perspective, players use a variety of weapons (pistols, machine guns, flamethrowers) and stratagems (turrets, airstrikes, etc.) to shoot and kill the alien threats. Players can also aim down the sights for a more accurate 1st person camera view. Combat is accompanied by frequent sprays of blood and dismemberment as players exterminate the alien forces or players and squad mates are hit by environmental explosions or friendly fire. Enemy encampments and battlefield environments depict bloodstains and dismembered corpses.

      @@Jakekelley-hs8bk Quit playing trivial and try a harder difficulty. Since you are getting 700+ kills on trivial, I would suggest trying easy or medium. Anything beyond medium for you would probably be too challenging. Good luck cadet and spread some democracy!

Hell, you're not even really incentivized to *play* because of all the arbitrary caps, and the breadcrumb resource tied directly to easy to reach caps.. with very long dead air between content drops to actually spend it on.

    I remember when they removed the Hellpod steering ability & made it so that stratagems bounce off of terrainbecause they “didn’t want people or turrets landing on top of rocks”, even though bots have super rockets and bugs have hunters that can jump 20 meters. These are the BS changes they need to revert and not gloss over like they never implemented them

      Their reason doesn't even make sense. Who cares if a turret or diver is up on a rock for a bit?
      Turrets don't last long and a Diver camping on a rock isn't completing objectives.

      Space Marine 2 has a MUCH better progression system. Better customization, leveling up weapons and more stuff to strive for in general. IMO it's just turing out to be a much better game overall.

    I feel like the fact that they are promising to buff the Autocannon, HMG, and AMR as the first named weapons, is a sign that they still don't understand the issue. Those are already great choices to take into certain mission types, but very few Primary and Secondary weapons feel like they're even worth bringing when you are faced with certain obstacles. Sure, I can use my primary to clear chaff, and that might have been their intent, but if I don't have my Support weapon, and all my stratagems are on cooldown, my only option is to run, because my primary and secondary, are basically dead weight. I bet if they're was a button you could hold to drop your primary and secondary in order to gain a small movement boost, it would be used near constantly. Sure there are some undertuned Support weapons that need to be buffed by maybe 5 damage to properly counteract the bug that you need forward momentum for, but as bad as having a support weapon that doesn't do enough is, having Primaries and Secondaries that do nothing in the best case scenario, and hurt you and your allies in the worst case scenario is gonna make the whole vibe that much worse. The Armor Penetration change sounds like it could be promising, but they still haven't mentioned returning to the old flamethrower visuals, I'll be honest. I don't care if it was a bug that made them change the flamethrower or not, how do you release a patch that makes something graphically look so much worse. Its the opposite of the first Live Action Sonic movie trailer. Instead of listening to fans and adjusting, they seem to be intent on sticking to their original vision. Which is ok, but that original vision doesn't sound like what got me to play for hundreds of hours.

      What I don't see as of now are changes to enemy patrols spawning right behind you, and instantly going agro.
      Then there's the past ammo clip nerfs, but in any case this is a good start in right direction to being fun again.

    We don't want the game to be -easier- we want it to feel -better-. Armor is fine, what we want is weakspots to feel like weakspots. If you percfectly time and aim a headshot on a bile titan? Dead. You manage to drop a precision strike directly onto a charger or impaler? Should be dead. Right now they are super tanky WHEN you are shooting the 'weakspots' and downright impossible to kill when you aren't.

      Right. I want more enemies and the ability to kill more enemies, not the same enemies to feel like chaff. If we can use skill to take down 10 titans then that's awesome, but currently 10 titans is a nightmare scenario with baked in RNG issues. I like armor deflecting shots. It makes sense, I agree that we need skill based weak spots, not easy click and shoot shit. This feedback that led to that specific change is definitely from the swathes of jerks who can't shut up and let the game be what it is when they're bad at it.

      Agreed. Just the other day I got a direct hit on a bile titan with an orbital strike, didn't die, landed a 500kg at its feet, didn't die, landed the 2nd one in its leg, pushed through that and continued coming at me lol

    I'll keep my expectations mild for right now. There was a previous patch where they claimed over 100 buffs and while some of the stratagems got better, most of the buffs for primaries were like miniscule.

      seriously, after that long wait there were maybe one or two primaries that got a decent buff. The rest were either left untouched or were given a tiny one, like +14% durable damage for assault rifles... as if that would fix just how trash they are. They did make some good changes to the machine guns though, and finally made the HMG fun to use with the new armor that reduced that irritating ergonomics mechanic.

      Lots didn't need much. Like the tenderizer maybe add 5 to 10 rounds to the clip and 2 magazines. They could do this with most weapons and I think people would be fine

      @@lukemehalick370 when a game feel is heavily affected by breakpoints, miniscule buffs are basically not a change at all.
      For example, a gun dealing 60 being buffed to 80 damage may SOUND like a big buff, but it's basically nothingburger if the vast majority of enemies you fight with it have 100 HP.
      The buffs that helped weapons meet a new breakpoint in that dozens of buffs patch were generally well received, for example the DCS being buffed to oneshot devastator to the head and always oneshot grunt with decent shot placement was practically agreed by everyone to be an incredible change that helped the gun feel nice to use.

    A "primary" weapon should be the weapon you primarily use because it's effective. They way they treat them, your "primary" is treated like a secondary weapon, and the secondary weapon is near pointless.

      Everyone mostly uses a MG, Auto Cannon and Stalwart (especially) don't know why they start adding some machine guns to primaries

      Primaries need to feel more like support weapons, and support weapons, especially those with limited ammo, should feel really strong. It should be where you only whip them out on big waves or against strong enemies, unless you wanna carry a supply pack, but to where the are generally optional if you wanna run other strats instead. This is how it was in HD1. I basically never ran a support weapon in that game, cause you could kill most stuff with your primary pretty well and a lot of call ins had shorter cooldowns. Plus if you specced for offensive strat use you could use a perk for massively reduced cooldown, dropping railcannons every 36 seconds and strafing runs practically as fast as you could enter the code and throw it. Some strats had durations longer than the cooldown time. lol

    I remember when we would get huge, sweeping changes every week after launch for the first 2-3 months, but those are changes that completely nerfed us and buffed enemies. Why does it take so long to make the game better for players but they can immediately issue hot fixes and patches to nerf and frustrate us?

      a complete lack of creative oversight of the game balance department. no real testing of new mechanics and a complete lack of people who can actually mod the engine code at a fundamental level to fix broken mechanics.

      ⁠@@KT-pv3klthey don’t have a balance department, and yeah the engine they’re using lost support partway into development, so yeah they’ve likely been fighting with the engine the whole time during development and even to this day still struggle with it.

      Replying to OC: correlation, not causation. They made sweeping changes on a weekly basis, which for any team is inhuman and leads to developer fatigue. Fatigued developers make mistakes in development, and those mistakes are what put us in this situation in the first place. The switch to longer periods between updates is to ensure more thoughtful decisions, not necessarily decisions players will agree with.
      The balancing fiasco today isn’t AH being thoughtless or malicious or cautious or overzealous. It’s a fundamental disagreement between the experience AH had in mind for the game, and what the players had in mind for the game. AH wanted a hardcore experience, players want a more relaxed experience. And now, AH is changing their vision and design goals to reflect what players want.

      ​@@GGBlaster Sorry, but this take on them wanting hardcore and not relaxing is asinine. You can have both PvE Escape From Tarkov and Single Player Tarkov (mod) is a good example of this. AH has been far too nerf happy and trying to make players lean into stratagems too heavily. Stratagems shouldn't be 3+ minutes long if they want us to rely more on them than primary weapons or even support weapons.
      Me and my crew played nothing but Helldive and we would have a blast despite the spawn issues, the tkin (us having fun), and despite the buggy mess that the game was at times. I.E being shot through rocks and buildings by bots, clipping into the ground when knocked down, and Bile Titans having their spit AoE somehow increased.
      You have the now ex ceo who more or less said, "When players find something fun, it seems like we take that fun away, and we shouldnt." Despite that sentiment the fun factor for most people that aren't super diehard fans that try to defend everything have just left.
      This isnt people wanting a relaxing experience over hardcore. This is just people wanting everything to feel good with a chance to fight the uphill battle, not for them to have nerf guns that barely eliminates before the wind blows said nerf dart away.

    Yeah we never said we wanted an EASIER GAME. We wanted the weapons to feel good to use. We want the flame animation back. We want guns to have more ammo so we can use them more. We want rockets to work without diving. We want enemies to actually take damage when we hit them. Honestly a lot of these buffs ALSO seem tone deaf to me. I'm getting this weird feeling that they are once again making changes they don't understand because they DON'T ACTUALLY PLAY THEIR OWN GAME...

      This is it right here, the problem hit right on the head. They don't play their own game. Even if somehow the next patch is good, we will always be an update away from the game getting fucked again if they don't do inhouse QA.

      And I know someone's gonna say "shoot the weak points". I fucking am, no shit, the fucking things are too tanky, and they close the gap before you can finish them off.
      The problem with HD2 is not that it's too difficult now, it's that it's frustrating as fuck. It's just frustrating, not even actually all that difficult. The character is too heavy and ragdolls just a little too much. And why the fuck is there an automatic stand up after getting knocked to the floor? I can't even tell you how many times I've died because the character decided to stand up after ragdolling. Fucking stay down, idiot, so you can stim while on the ground. That's just a couple examples, but the game is full of annoying shit like that, it should have been buffed out by now.

    I’ll be genuinely surprised by two things:
    1. If they actually follow through, given the last 7 months of unfulfilled promises.
    2. If the game isn’t plagued by bugs, glitches, and game-breaking dropouts.
    As for me, I don’t see myself returning anytime soon. I just started playing Space Marines 2, and I’ve kind of moved on. I put in 291 hours and felt like they just kept spitting in my face-they didn’t respect my time or money.

      @@Brotenkopf I am critical on how companies operate as a business, because I am a business owner. Time is money, I think they made a couple big mistakes.
      1) getting in bed with Sony, was a bad move. I know they did it because they are a small studio and needed capital. I just think Sony is too big to care and as a small business a more personal publisher would have been better. The 177 countries banned and the EU stepping in is a primary example of damage control from the publisher, and how arrowhead had a different vision and like a good boss he took the brunt of the force.
      2) they had no long term plan before launch and it cost them dearly. They should have wrapped up the game, waited longer and come up with a 1 year plan of solid content to keep players entertained, even a road map would have helped paved a path.
      3) It clear what they created was popular for the gamers, and what they envisioned was complete opposite. As a business owner you are dictated by your customers, but how you conduct yourself, operate your business, and treat people is how your business is perceived and they dropped the ball here really badly. They lost trust and faith in the community and once you lost that it takes alot of time and money to get that back, I would say in a typical business it would work, but as dynamic as the gaming industry is and you have studios with more experience, money and control of their product, I am not seeing that happening for a long time, and if it does it will probably be a little late.
      Their first game had 6000 players, I think this game will hold onto 14k and sit around that.

      ​@VercJames I have been maxed on orange samples for so long I guess I assumed everyone was. Even after the big weapons bay expansion I have been maxed. That's my problem with this game. You max everything so damn fast and there is no progression because you can't spend medals or samples on anything pretty quickly in to playing the game.

      There's no need for long, design-by-commitee discussions on balance. The needed stat adjustments have been provided by the community for ages.
      I know it's easy to say "if it was up to me", but seriously: if I was CEO, first patch would be out within a day and everything would be fixed within a damn week.

    They should have just fixed the bugs on the beginning, not touched the weapons. The Creek was hell, but we LOVED IT. The weapons were viable, yet it was a bloodbath and we pushed through. Most of the things they have done were not necessary and hurt the game.

    None of what they said in this 'blog' isn't already their modus operandi when it comes to patches. Promises for vague 'balance' changes to incentivize we use 'the proper tools' is what got us in this situation in the first place. I don't see anything here that means Arrowhead has changed what they're doing at all.
    EDIT: Just to make a point, look at the wording in the post. Nowhere does it talk about buffs coming with this patch. Reworks, changes, and overhauls do NOT mean things get better. Armor changes to enemies sounds like a buff for player power, but if it's coupled with a rework of the Armor pen system, then it might end up feeling exactly the same, or given Arrowhead's patches so far, worse. Anybody passing this blog off as 'Buffs are coming! Things will be fixed!' is imprinting their own meanings on the message. Nothing has been promised other than they'll do the same things they've done, the same way they've done it in every patch so far.

    Enemy behavior adjustments are needed. Bots and bugs should maneuver according to some sort of roll, condition, and strategy, not just a direct line of approach. The various units should also move at different speed. For example hulk should absorb obscene amounts of damage, I don't agree they should be de-armored, but it should be trivial to out run them or make them overheat and shut down.
    Armor penetration should fall into 3 categories.
    1. Non-armor piercing. Does no damage. Scratches the paint only.
    2. Armor destruction damages and degrades the armor.
    3. Armor piercing ignores and destroys armor.

      @@GGBlaster That would be armor piercing. Light, medium, or heavy. Anything over a category should result in over penatration. Heavy for example would go through 1 more additional medium armored foes. It would go through pretty an unlimited number of unarmored targets until it hits something solid.
      Plasma should burn away armor. Degrading it into the next lighter type as the damage mounts.

      The hulks actually feel like they're in a good spot right now. Easy to kill if prepared, but possible, although it takes some effort, to kill if unprepared. Chargers don't feel like that because they're too fast, glitchy, and tanky.

      @@Ace11Sky I have been a bot diver since the beginning, my first dive was on Automatons and I played them until I was on level 8 only. Man diving on malevelon creek and crawling through the trees and bushes while enemy lasers flew over my head was one of them most awe inspiring and FUN moments I have had in my gaming career. The only thing they need to change is have the rocket devs either run out of ammo or increase the reload time by 10 seconds at least. If they just did that, which maybe they did I haven't seen the devblog yet lol, my adhd ass reading comments as I am listening to the video might go against me right now but that's how I feel about the bots. They would be PERFECT to me with that change.

      I totally agree on the enemy strategy idea, it would be so much better if bots tried to surround you and suppress, some enemies have a higher chance to take a defensive position while others try to close the gap or flank, it would be 10x cooler that way

      ​@@LeNathDuNet I got the early access (will likely stream it later tonight) version, only got to play half an hour before work.
      So far, SM2 is excellent. The weight of the character feels better than HD2, less ragdolling and waiting for your character to actually move.
      The combat is very different, you're basically encouraged to be aggressive, and given the tools to parry, dodge, etc.
      A huge advantage is the chainsaw sword, for sure. HD2 not having any melee weapons just seems ridiculous.
      Graphics-wise, space marine 2 is more stylized, slightly less realistic, but beautiful. While HD2 relies heavily on explosions and particle effects, SM2 is more ornate and detailed, the world's are obviously much more detailed. There are structures that are beautiful and complex. HD2 buildings are generally fairly simple, not too aesthetic. The world's are more bare, but have amazing particle effects and lighting. I'd give SM2 the edge here, but HD2 could catch up if they had more aesthetic architecture and all that.
      There's no jump mechanism in either game. Helldivers get the signature ground dive, space marines have parries and dashes.
      SM2 also seems to have a campaign mode and be more stroy-driven, whereas HD2 is a collection of random missions without a true story narrative. Obviously, there is continuation and story in the general sense (game master plans), but there aren't characters that you know and develop a bond with. I think, in this case, I also have to give the won over to SM2.
      Combat feel: with the space marines, it's hard for me to tell with so little play time so far, but it feels like you're encouraged to be aggressive while looking out for big attacks that you may need to defend.
      Helldivers are basically constantly under fire and stress, always on the back foot - when this feeling is pervasive, and enemies can shoot through walls and terrain, it eventually just feels like shit. When the game launched before they ruined it, it was a mix of being offensive and defensive, and it was a good balance. Now, it's just rundivers. The guns all feel like
      .22lr rifles.
      Helldivers is in big trouble with SM2 coming out.
      SM2 has too many advantages over it.
      If Arrowhead wants HD2 to survive, they need to:
      1. Story craft better, way better, get gamers more involved with the lore.
      2. Fix the fucking crashes. Non-stop fucking crashes.
      3. Rework the weapons to actually be good.
      4. Work on the aesthetics of the buildings, maybe introduce planets with more human activity.
      5. More enemy types/factions.
      6. Lower stratagem cool downs.
      7. Decrease enemy tankiness, increase number of enemies.
      8. Fix spawns (no more random enemy spawns from thin air when I destroy all the bot factories or bug hives) so that they make sense.
      9. Change the difficulty of the game by new mechanisms and enemy/character behavior, rather than by buffing enemies and nerfing players/weapons.

    Yeah, see, problem with that is that today I played Space Marine 2 and just the tutorial gave me all the horde combat Helldivers ever promised. Where the horde actually runs at you and you can gun it down until it eventually overwhelms you, not spawn underneath you. And with guns that actually blows the bugs to bits, not mildly tickle them.
    To little to late Helldivers, a few months to late.

    Every time they patch they break it with bugs, the bugs are usually associated with a weapon that “over performs”. Said weapon is then nerfed into the ground. Rinse and repeat,don’t fix the problem.AH couldn’t find their own a$$ with a map and both hands

    I learned very early on, "never put anything past anybody" and never allow hype to over shadow judgment. Most of this sounds good. But I am reserving judgment until I see it in action. All I want is for this game to feel fun and good again. That’s it. I’m keeping my expectations in check.
    Before we start screaming about this being too easy, let’s remember what the first incarnation of this game was. The first incarnation was not this hard for the sake of hard, milsim, realistic wanna be, Soulslike. It was a wild, fun, and a bit wacky game that made you feel like the elite of the SESF (that’s what Helldivers are! We aren’t the PDF or regular grunt SEAF). Anyone could jump in and have fun. Losing a mission dying didn’t feel frustrating. Battles felt exhilarating, not dreadful. You kinda wanted to get into a fight while pushing towards the objective. You didn’t wanna stealth around it, run away from it, or not get into one. You wanted to be pushed, but not to the point that the push felt unbearable that a full retreat was needed. I hope we’re getting back to that. But another thing I learned early on, "hope is the first step on the road to disappointment".
    This needs to be properly balanced. Not too easy and not too hard. Weapons should feel good to use & weak points should be weak points. But I’m no fool, I know that’s a hard line not to cross on either side.

    I love how you can hold the entire side of this defense mission with just turrets, even on Super Helldive. I'm still going to play as I don't really have anything else I want to purchase at this time. That aside, they shit the bed on this game and there is nothing to stop them from shitting the bed again down the road. No trust and zero faith in them at this point for any positive expectations.
    I have a problem when I hit a Bile Titan with 4 spears just to kill the god damned thing.

    I just want the update to be overall positive with actual gameplay improvements. My squad took a break before the PSN thing happened and never came back because of the nerfs and lack of bug fixes. It doesn't matter how much I focus on the positive stuff every update, it's hard to ignore "Oh and this weapon got nerfed and this bug is still in the game and there looks to be another big crash issue with the new mission."

    They should've never made any drastic buff changes. Pushed so many players out regardless of how many people continuously defended the devs. You can defend them and say "go play something else then" and that is exactly what many players did. it was a good game while it lasted.

    I just can't see myself coming back. They broke trust so many times I see this update coming out and then getting nerfed in the update after that. But who knows, maybe Helldivers 2 can make a comeback...

    I got 2 solid ideas.
    1) Flame weapons should have a psychological effect on bugs, maybe even bots. If the ground is on fire, they should try to avoid/leave it if possible. It doesn’t do a lot of immediate damage; I feel like fire’s main appeal (beyond FIRE) is its DOT effect. Making you able to slow down enemies by laying down a wall of fire, or making them scatter, would add some risk/reward to its use.
    2) Cryo weapons. We use bullets, lazers, and fire. Bring us cold weapons! They function either like lazers or flamethrowers, maybe do less damage, but slows enemies, making it easier to run away from them, help crowd control the swarms a bit.

      @@MrDiverRick psychological kinda makes sense for the bots considering one of the tips in loading screens says when bots are under fire there sensors become overloaded making them less accurate sooooo imagine if there sensors are actually on fire itd probably really mess with em 😂🤷🏻‍♂️ but I guess that wouldn't really be psychological more of a mechanical problem? Idk I get you though.

      @@redhot1110 The deeper lore behind that statement is that they do feel emotion, it's super earths way of saying "nicely" that you can traumatize the bots, they are made with human bodies after all maybe the human brains in the skulls still feel when powered it would be cool asf.

      How you fight when you cant see shit. Bugs getting their eyes vaporised and bots cleaning their lenses would be fun, not like cage net bots would not have their insides fried.
      They need external exposed heatsinks and can ignore flames.
      AH designing tank that can be destroyed with small arms but heat sink that cant.

    Two things:
    I don't think the devs are listening to the comments, really. The game doesn't have to be easier, that's not what people are asking for. Weapons should be impactful: hits on weakspots, strategical use, armor pen should function as they are described. The flamethrower should again lay down a carpet of napalm. We need the bots to not constantly clip through walls.
    The other thing is that with Space Marine 2 releasing this Monday, I think the battle is lost for Helldivers 2. They should have fixed the problens the players have been complaining about for months. The players that are leaving for Space Marine 2 will probably not return.

    Remember when we said what we wanted, and they mocked us, refused to listen, doubled down, didn't give up an inch? It genuinely seemed like us becoming good at the game upset them in some way. It went from "what's the strat for this, let's work it out?" to "they just hate us". Geeks by their own admission, I think they RP'd a little too hard. There's literally nothing they could do that would bring me back to that game, and I played a LOT.

    4:15 The way the Armor Penetration works is the exact same as we see it with normal games, it's just how it's framed that is different.
    How a normal game works is:
    No Damage - Your weapon is too weak. You can't do anything to the enemy.
    Straight Damage - This weapon is designed for this enemy. All of your damage goes through.
    Critical Damage - This weapon is overkill (or there is no armor protecting the enemy). You do 2x amount of damage.
    The main difference (and the source of confusion as to how the damage works) is what the damage values are displayed as. For some reason, with the weapon's damage values as they are given in the game, Arrowhead forgot to include the word "Maximum". That exclusion leads people to believe that instead of being the maximum damage something can do, it instead should be the standard amount it does. In reality, if they excluded the word "Maximum" and halved all of the damage numbers, it would be reflective of expected damages for matching armor types. Following a different route, they could simply add "Maximum" when stating damage values, and it would be understood that the weapon cannot output any more damage than that.
    When you think of it in terms of NO DAMAGE, STANDARD DAMAGE, and CRITICAL DAMAGE it's much more straightforward, though.

    They used some terms that concern and counteract their supposed backtracking with all their screwups, which, so far, have been nothing but hot air. " As a key part of the rework we have done an initial balancing pass on over 30 weapons and stratagems. " There it goes with the term 'balancing,' which we know intimately now. When balancing comes into play with a game such as this, it is a big issue because it was nothing but nerfs and ridding fun for players, which was why this game tanked so hard, and they thought otherwise. I don't know. I am still skeptical and will not play until I see real change and videos showcasing it.

    Can't wait for them to "fix a bug" where all explosive eagle airstrikes do explosive damage. They will now no longer do explosive damage and will function as intended

    They nerfed lvl 10 bugs recently. I can't tell you how many missions I've had only a couple Titans, few chargers, and no spikies. Lvl 10 is supposed to be insanity, but it feels like lvl 8 used to feel. Still having fun though!

      Difficulty LvL 3 was insane for myself and new helldiver level 5 friend. 3-5 patrols of hunters every 30-60 seconds absolutely NUTS

      i finish a level 10 yesterday it was so ez it was boring we totaled 860 kill all 4 together then we played same planet but level 5 we lost 12 life in the first 15 minute we extracted with no more life, one dead. we took all the time and we ended up with a total of 1950 kill the only diff was no bile titan and maybe 10 charger total the rest was just small bug jumping 10 meter away straight on you and killing you in 2-3 hit the balance is thrash the little bug are more annoying than ANY big one even the impaler is soft next to a damn hunter. logic should be reverse having 2k kill should be only in level 8 and higher not in a freaking level 5 i definitly have a bigger challenge in level 5-6 than any 8-9-10

      @@BalgaBeardiff 3 can be a seriously inconsistent experience. Sometimes it’s empty, other times it’s patrol, patrol, bug breach, patrol, patrol, bug breach patrol nonstop. Best recommendation would be to equip some radar boosting armor or booster, use map to avoid patrols, and above all else never stay in one place any longer than you absolutely have to.

    They have no heavy armor-penetrating weapons, this is one of the main reasons I have cut my play time down significantly. How these devs don't understand this yet just shows me they are word salading the player base in "making changes".

    Helldivers 2 updates: SEPTEMBER 17TH
    Dear Helldivers,
    Intelligence committees everywhere on super earth and across the Galaxy
    have been working hard to enhance our weapons as well as interfere with our enemies weaponry.
    We have done well.
    Here are our most recent updates:
    1.) breaker shotgun damage increased, stagger increased, ammo increased.
    2.) Enemy AI enhanced for bots and terminids.
    3.) Armor pen reworked for all weapons.
    4.) Hulks to have lower armor
    5.) Combat to be more balanced.
    6.) Bile titans armor reduced (easier penetration)
    7.) Improvements for flamethrower, autocannon, heavy machinegun.
    8.) Number of rockets fired by enemies (gunships, devastators) will be lowered overall at higher difficulty levels.
    9.) Rail cannon up to 250% damage modifier at overcharge.

    Undermatch = Cannot penetrate thus causes no internal damage
    Match = Round has lost most of it's energy penetrating the armor causing less damage.
    Overmatch = Easily penetrates and causes full damage.
    This makes sense. What does not make sense is the pen values of the weapons and armor values of enemies.
