We know there is an upcoming balance patch by ArcSystemWorks after EVO 2024, but what exactly should change?
I asked some of the DBFZ attendees at CEO 2024 their wishlist for changes and why.

I'd say nerf jiren cell nappa bluegeta but also buff UI kid buu and base Goku like for example nerf perfect attacks invincibility but I also think they should change the scaling to do less damage. and one more example is for ui (I still main him) if they don't do anything to him, at LEAST they gotta fix ui's 6s bug cuz he's missing out on damage
they gotta fix the beam whiff into super dash so ppl can actually punish easier

The sparking change needs to happen 100%. We need more recovery on whiffed moves, full screen moves need to be toned down.

Cell mains are in panick rn
Lucar was definitely spitting facts. in the current state, the risk reward is just all over the place. we have moves with invincibility or fast startup that's just super safe and has low damage scaling, characters with easy access to powerful mix for little to no work, extensions that skyrocket bnb damage. it's just a much less fun game to both watch and play since the easiest stuff is also the best stuff and unless you're in mutual agreement to not pull out cheap stuff it's just a much more tiring game to play.

Buff Super Broly armor, that excuse of an armor is a shame compared to any other character with armor
would also like 2L to be -2 or 0 on block to have better stagger pressure. more range on 5L to compensate for how slow it is.
I don't care about character changes, I want to see what they do with the universal system mechanics.
I want either new universal offensive options that that give character tools to make comebacks managable (not another damage buff)
aerial GC needs to go, raw tag needs to be punishable on block
SD needs to be punishable on block
ALL DPs need to stop being vanish cancelable
assists need to become punishable
HBDs and MCs need to work everywhere on the screen (assist characters don't randomly drop out)
Autocombos need to stop autoturning and nuke extra properties given to them (ant-air, low crush, etc.)
C assist cooldown need to be 1 or 2 seconds faster
Make 6M 20-21f
Make Dragon Rush 10f and make it breakable with only dr button (so it actually becomes a real throw like normal fighting games)
I really hope they don't ruin Cell. Just revert thr invincibility. That's all he needs.
No one is actually a cell main.they only play him because of level 3 mix and ex perfect attack
For gods sake please change it so cooler can immediately do his Otg immediately after hitting his 236 H. I know he can do it but it feels so awkward because of the timing.
Buff Vegito A hitstun a lil bit, not revert it, just a bit. And make vegito b do more kicks or be faster.
This can go for other assists as well since I feel like most characters should have 2 decent assists instead of 1 just completely busted on while the rest are ass.
Baby, fix his level 1 into level 3 so it doesn’t whiff or at least let him do level 1 into Ape.
As a Cell player, i admit it Perfect attack its way stronger than it should be, maybe not cutting the fact that its a reversal, but make it that it scales like a DP, or the other way around, not making it a DP and mantaining the scaling
As a Cooler player, FIX HIS BEAM, sometiemes it perfectly sd cancel but sometime you wiff, ant its frustrating

When Inzem said spark needs to be -5 I almost popped off😭
Finally someone that addresses the fact that spark is too powerful !! The property of sticking to the opponents after super dash in spark needs to go too, it’s absurdly strong RPS to be rewarded with just for pressing super-dash.
Something else I wish someone had spoken up about was raw tag. Being able to tag out through a 4 frame gap in a block string and confirm the combo into 50% damage is tag fighter sacrilege.
Raw tag should drop you to the ground (similar to guard cancel or a -5 lariat) if it’s blocked. Basically your turn should definitively end and you should be forced to block if the raw tag is blocked or baited.
So the option which at best gives you an advantageous position with some resources spent and at worst can cause the death of your character when baited should just be a guaranteed death just from blocking it?
@@k-thesupreme3511 From what I’ve said, neither spark or Raw tag would result in death if blocked. But your turn will end there and then. You won’t have enough frames to mash jump, auto combo, vanish, or reliably mash reflect/DP (would be a 1 frame gap to reflect if it’s -5 on block making it risky to go for in the first place). It puts the post-block RPS in the aggressors favor and adds some risk to some of the strongest options in the game.
Players like Pred and Yasha have shown us how strong raw tag can be, and spark speaks for itself. The risk reward is completely skewed on those moves because you have to be very precise with the timing of baiting spark for a guaranteed punish, and raw tag is so fast that you can never consistently bait it, let alone react to it with a punish.
@@cubbwatch you said raw tag should drop you to the ground when blocked, like a blocked guard cancel. That is just guaranteed M starter, which means at best you lose 60% and at worst you die. The risk reward is insanely skewed for a game where tagging in safely isn't risk free since it always tracks to the opponent
You can just sleep 💤 and when the opponent tries real mix just spark vanish and call 17
@@k-thesupreme3511 Yes it can drop you to the ground and still be safe on block- like an air lariat blocked on the ground. You would lose access to air actions and you’re forced to block but it wouldn’t be a guaranteed punish. I’m not advocating for raw tag to become guard cancel, hell no😂 just for it to be clear that your turn is over when you’re picking these moves with super high upside.
Cos it’s either they add more risk to using them or decrease the overall reward. Like raw tag damage scaling could be extremely high instead, and could spark go less damage overall. But I do think it’s better to adjust the moves to require more thought and consideration to use than to potentially over or under tune them.
People want Cell to rename his dp to imperfect attack.
Giving them lvl 3 mix back is a no for me guessing for game on a 4 way mix up post a level 3 is not fun

I love the ideas but buff coolers OTG and I will be a happy man. And make his level three the vanish one invincible and faster. Buff base gokus spirit bomb for mix and when it hits, you can super dash right away. Buff piccolos demon slicer door extension combos easier and in corner. Give him a knock down that dn't use meter or buff his meter gauge. Kid buu? Give his medium stomps back, mix with mystic ball and more hit stun, and better recovery with arm ball, Happy Birthday back and let his medium long kick drop not stay in the air like that. Make his grab faster too. Give vegito his damage back but nerf his distance and of course return everyone's meter.
Damn. Nobody said shit about UI Goku needing slight damage buffs. That kinda hurts to see lol
The game is really not in a so bad state. Bandai made some stupid party-game changes, but Bandai made the game alot more fun with universal beam confirms for all characters, extra optimal combos on characters kits like SSJ Vegeta, Trunks, Goku, ext. Which are really really fun. This might sound crazy, but prioritize the game fixes, not character specific nerfs. Arc-systems are back on the patch, and they know how to balance since they are the original devs.
Assists: Nerf defensive assists (17A), and nerf C assists a touch. C assists reward bad players, so they can confirm 30-40% dmg combos without having to actually confirm anything from mid screen. Some are just stupidly broken too like Gotenks, Cell, ext.
DEFENSE: nerf empty vanish off Spark, nerf Spark block frames, REMOVE AIR GUARD CANCEL. This game is very cool for having 13 defensive options or reads, like DP's, counters, Reflect, Guard cancel on ground & air, up tech + mash, delay wakeup, Lv 3'ing, sparking, or even vanishing if the situation calls for it. But some of it just needs nerfs.
Bug Fixes: Ksack is right about Cooler bugging, that needs to fix. His Beam confirms are sometimes wonky. Same with Base Goku, he has multiple wonky things including his beam confirms. Fix Ginyu B bugging. Whenever it gets hit at a weird time the assist will just completely bug. It can happen often. Super dash wrapping around at weird times probably should be fixed.
Fix all of that, and the game is great to me.
Characters: Nerf Jiren. 2L should not be a medium starter, his stagger and normals probably need to be a little slower and then he's balanced. His defensive options are strong, but can stay. Blue Vegeta grab needs nerfs, make it super punishable off wiff, and that's actually all. Cell PA on ground needs to be gutted, and the character will be fine. Beerus lv1+3 mix needs remove. Lv 3 being safe off wiff also needs remove. Nappa Sibamen need nerf. Then buff a couple of weaker characters like Base Goku, Bardock, Piccolo, Yamcha ext.
This game will be perfection if all this happens.
Inzem is cooking and correct with everything
Buff underused assists. Most assists just suck in comparison to the preferred one cause they do next to nothing. Like what is the point of Mbuu B and M21B?
Inzem had some good points. My only disagreement is losing your turn after using spark. The purpose of spark is to break your opps momentum and gain breathing room. Similar to a combo breaker Mortal Kombat. If I spark and you block, why should you have an advantage to attack me and placed me right back in the situation I tried to avoid?🤔. Am I missing something? Please comment. 2. I agree. Empty vanish after sparking is dumb. Get that out of here. 3. Perfect attack needs to be voided from the game. lol! At least this version of it.

I hard disagree with the spark being minus on block its your get off me tool and shouldnt be punished just because you dont like it. I agree with making empty vanish delayed for a few seconds though thats like the main reason people hate on spark in the first place
I bought this game back in December but I just started this game about a month and a half ago. I main Cell, Blue Vegeta and Goku Black. Don't really know a lot about the game but it seems like people dislike those two 😂
@@ThatFoofromCali they were just fine a few months ago, but the changes that were made to their moves makes it unbearable to play against them. They can spam their EX moves with minimal risk and the combos they get give so much reward. Basically they can take less risks than all the other characters and still get the same damage and setups as characters that take risks all the time. It’s unfair…
i was agreeing with inzem until he said characters should have lvl3 50/50 back. 3 bars for an almost guaranteed 2 touch is wayyyy too oppressive since meter is a non-factor in this game, especially if you can just get them whenever. characters should only get strong lvl3 mix off of setups like fatbuu and baby corner steal lvl3 to prevent it from being spammed.

man i wanna like videos like this but Bandai has shown one too many times that they do not care about the feedback they get from their community. This will all fall on deaf ears im afraid. I guess its still fun to hear the pros thoughts though.

Balance patch idea for DBFZ is to leave it and make a new arcsys anime game. DBFZ stopped bein a gud game when A21 dropped lol.
Also FIX UI Goku confirmations and of course buff his damage, and give him back his DP, for the supposed best defensive character he doesn't even have a DP

Interesting that on the discussion of moves with invincibility, no one brought GT Goku up by name, and after thinking about it, it does kinda make sense.
Unlike Cell and Blue Vegeta, GT Goku has a forced landing recovery of 15f, so while it does cover a lot of distance and technically can have guard point up for longer, it has gaps for when you do the follow up. The guard point also doesn't kick in frame 1 or frame 4 (it's all the way at frame 11), so it can't really be used as a reversal to pretty much negate your opponent's plus frames the way you can just EX Perfect Attack out of blocking a vanish, while also not medium scaling.
That, and GT Goku as a character has fairly short normals, where as Blue Vegeta has more or less standard buttons (with his autocombo getting buffed to go further for some reason), and Cell is just a huge character.
