I just saw a video of yours from 4 years ago, and then I clicked your channel to come see what’s new and I swear on everything you look younger and more energetic today than back then somehow! Love to see it.

I have 75 yard system at my shop that I copied from Chucks videos. It is over 5 years old and keeps everything dry all year round in KY. Used perf pvc and flex with gravel.

Hey Chuck. Wow you guys do great work. I bought a property here in the northeast Pa and I have a very high water table. I have two pumps and they run for days after a good rain. Any tips on how to slow this problem down?

Another great video Chuck! The opening of the video where you show the stain across a driveway.
This is a project I’m about to tackle. I’d like to install a trench drain across a low spot in my driveway, but I don’t need any plumbing on either side. I just want water to be able to cross the driveway. What’s the best way to terminate each end?

So I am a bit confused. The grass will grow in the dirt, but they will have a gravel path in their yard?

Great work. Do you prefer liquid rubber or concrete caulk when sealing the cracks where an exterior wall and the foundation meet?

@appledrains, What is your opinion of sandy clay loam and filter fabric.? We also have lots of moles, voles and gophers that affect subsoil water movement and especially gophers can really mess with gravel in trenches as well. 40" of rain/year.

What things make you make the choice between using gravel and using that foam peanut covered pipe?

  • @dennisbrinkley8613

    A gravel bed can work.
Most people prefer to have green grass instead of a rock garden.
The fabric functions to keep the soil from the knife cut pipe.
Rock is not cheap and is very labor intensive.
I wonder if putting in more pipe with fabric would work to create an air barrier and help to reduce the need for rock.
For example a wide ditch with three pipes: two solid; one knife cut protected with fabric might work to create a yard and French drain.
Do you think 🤔 this would be cheaper to build?

I need to dig at least a 350 system. 2 feet deep , I have a natural slope . My questions how gravel I need , and tubing possibly laying down two sets of tubes . And what is the average cost for these materials. Another question how wide the trench should be ? Can someone give me an idea about how much money a system like this would cost ? I will be doing it by myself. No labor cost .

So if you were going to put dirt over it and sod you would wrap in clay?

    • @Chris__UU
      @Chris__UU 3 месяца назад +2

With clay, if you don't want an open french drain like in the video, and want it buried. Do not push the red clay back over the drain, haul it away or use it for grading elsewhere. Mix sand and non-clay top soil to put over the wrapped french drain. Then replant grass seed.

Were did you discharged the water to? I’d think those drains would clog up in one season.
