JERRY: so i'm filming him, and he gets a crook down the 6 stair. GEORGE: a crook! was it pinched? JERRY: absolutely not. no pinch at all. GEORGE: oh, god! JERRY: he was unpinched! he didn't pinch! GEORGE: he didn't pinch? JERRY: not even a little bit! completely pinchless! GEORGE: jerry, you should've said something!
@@jakeholland6194 if you remember adults riding boards smaller than 7.5 you are officially a boomer now. Sorry I don't make the rules. I remember I got a couple of aesthetics boards cause I was a fan of Clyde Singleton and I swear that company didn't make boards wider than 7.5.
Chris: “My manuals are flat as fuck.” Jamie: “You got tight trucks?” Chris: “Nah I got loose ass trucks.” Jamie: “Well then how are they flat, you’re gonna have to lean on one-“ Chris: *assuring* “I’m a balance master.” Love this 😂
quick as fuck his response. ...years of experience battling homies for nonsense :D ... but always so respectful and collected. This show knows how to treat his guests.
Using "pinch" for manuals seems wrong, since pinch is a real word for an action. Crook you actually pinch. I am over 35yr old, maybe it's a young skater thing. Manuals to me are more of a lock in situation.
@N CR might be an age thing cause I’m roughly same age and agree completely. Also just recently got back into skating after about ~10 years and ordered a few 7.75 blanks… guess I’m way outta touch now… This whole clip makes me feel old AF…
This was dope. Like a good episode of tough crowd. Crob- Colin Quinn, Roger-Brian Reagan, Foy- Patrice, Kelly- Geraldo. Koston would be Dennis Leary for sure.
I pinch manuals to front tailslides on stuff. Learnt early 2000s ABC ledges, you manual normally putting weight on backheel to veer towards ledge as your about to pop, instead push your back foot forward leaning to lock tailslide. It’s not hard but adds little challenge and flair to a basic manual. Pro tip use your hips and legs to turn hard into tail but upper body to balance and guide you out to fakie. 👍🏽
I kinda have to argue against the manuel pinch. You're not really pinching, its kinda like a hip lock, with more pressure on your toes where you're going to pop. I see what they're saying, but to literally pinch a manual would be wheel bite.
The video of the nine club discussing supremes candyland has a perfect example of a "pinched" or locked mannie... During the forementioned supreme clip around 4:05 looks like what Jamie Foy was talking about when discussing the topic of "pinched"/ locked mannies... theres no way you can do a manual revert without some sort of "mannie pinch" or mannie lock.
fuck this got funnier and funnier the more crob and jamie got vexed at eachother oh my god when jamie was exposing his trucks and board size lmaoooooooo
I've been skateboarding my entire fucking life and I didn't understand anything they were talking about until the 11 minute mark. Then it clicked and I totally agree with what Jamie and Kelly are saying. Roger and Chris seem to be associating the Pinch with wheelbite. Either that or they are balance purists and feel that a proper manual is legit 100% perfectly balanced, you're 100% on top of it, and there is no leaning to any one side. I can see that, especially from Chris who really always made it a point to balance the shit out of his grinds and manuals. He may be one of the most qualified people to argue on behalf of pure balance. However I kind of skew towards Jamie's side of the equation. You can balance a pinch and that's pretty much what he's saying. It's not wheelbite because your wheel isn't connecting with the board, it's more of a partial pinch where you're locked in leaning to one side..... or some shit I have no idea haha. I enjoyed watching this though and trying to understand
Ok....it feels like it's the same thing as being locked in except you can't pinch a manual without wheel biting or leaning/ turning. Grinding, pending on truck tightness/looseness, is more clear on the pinch definition because of the means to lean your board on the ledge or rail with the trucks while grinding.
This is how skating is supposed to be! Everyone does it differently or has different opinions. I like both not pinching and pinching, unless the trick looks better pinched like crooked grind.
Yeah I gotta say I have never heard about pinching a manual. I have heard about locking into a manual with the lean but I kind of think saying a manual is pinched doesn't make sense.
Can you imagine your bushings are uneven( so your board doesn’t roll straight on its own the you can pinch your Manuel or whatever trick and still go straight. Trucks touching or not touching. Kinda like your hammering the grind in, I feel like you can give her that effect of a pinch with the board touching
" getting stuck on the physical thing " Ya because pinch was named for the trucks pinching ..literally...the wheel on a crook grind. But now it applies to a manual? So pinch now can just mean locked in.. he's making it too complex.
I blame Foy and Hart for the confusion. They do a poor job explaining what they’re talking about. They use “lock in” and “pinch” interchangeably and go straight to examples that don’t necessarily clarify their haphazard description. Foy says it’s not even a physical thing at one point, which is ridiculous, cause skateboarding isn’t done in some immaterial realm.
I agree. I think "pinch" is being used as a stylish term. Like if someone says "That hardflip was tight!" they usually just mean well-executed, not physically compact. It's a stretch.
you can definitely pinch a manny. i have really loose trucks & extra soft bushings & many times i am balancing on two wheels but also wheelbiting on one side. while manual-ing a straight object(even tho i may not be going perfectly straight on it). if you wanna see check out my insta- supimjk. specifically the clip with wee-man at the diamond plaza
"It's not even a physical thing"
Jamie hittin dudes with the mental pinch.
😭😭😭😭😭🏌
This is like a skate Seinfeld episode. “I can pinch! You sayin I cant pinch?? I can pinch!” “He can pinch for sure.”
"He's a level 10 pincher."
LOL
Such an underrated comment!!
I read that in Jerry’s and George’s voice and I diedddd😂😂😂😂
JERRY: so i'm filming him, and he gets a crook down the 6 stair.

JERRY: absolutely not. no pinch at all.

JERRY: not even a little bit! completely pinchless!
GEORGE: jerry, you should've said something!
Jamie laughing at Chris riding a 7.75 is such a boomer vs zoomer moment.
aaron bone That shit had me cracking up. He was legit embarrassed for him😂
I'm no boomer and i skated in that era, I always rode an 8 and that was considered big then.
But ya still that is funny shit, idk anyone who rides less than an 8 now.

Roger saying “these fuckin kids🙄” got me good 😂 little boomer moment there
damn if u watch this and you don’t skateboard this would be hard to understand
I haven't skated in over a year and I wasnt sure what a pinch was tbh
A housemate of mine said these interviews sounds like another language
I wouldn't watch this if I didn't skate, haha

Chris: I dont know if i pinch my manuals, Ill review my footage.
😂😂 fuckin love this guy lol

Jamie - “🤣”
Chris - “Jamie what’s so fuckin’ funny?” {(New York mobster accent)}
The ratio of discussion to agression is perfect. I wish every conversation was like this
Crob is really good at handling all this.
He has been consumed by the pinch. Everything is pinch to him now
gow696 molded by the pinch. The pinch is all he’s ever known
I know this is old but omfg, "I skate a 7.75" and Jamie dies laughing, best part.
Jamie, what’s so fucking funny?
Manuals are Locked, Grinds are Pinched.
Idk I pinched a manual once bc it was so long my back truck was turned frontside and my nose was off to the side but no wheelbite
manuallock crook pinched
locked in the pocket
how could you question chris on manuals? do they need to watch the switch flip manny again?
haha I'm dead
Well if he did that. He scraped, ask Weckingball.
you mean in the background of all the videos? thats chris?!?! no way. ive always wondered who that was.
You are right. Chris has some of the best manuals ever filmed. Dont fuck with him lol
Old school and New school, everyone has their foot placement...
This is one of the best clips
Where is this Malto crook video? Lol I can't find it
its on the @ daspinch ig one of its first few posts
This is the best conversation I've heard in a long time
Level 10 pincher. Laughing for days. Thisbis literally one of the best episodes ever🙏❤️
A pinch isn't physical, it's more of an emotional or even spiritual kinda thing
Leaning, locking in, and pinching are all different things. I think Jamie Foy entered troll mode and didn't want to leave it LMAO
Ive heard pinch more times in this video than i have in life
Jamie Foy: Says anything
Me: Correct
Hey kelly. You're annoying af
The way he laughs at 7.75 is the way people laughed when I rode an 8.0 15 years ago. People follow fads too much, even pros.
It's not a fad, it's just the era. Small wheels+tiny decks= tech shit. Bigger board+bigger trucks= greater balance for rail and gap skating.
Yeah I always skated 7.75 & 8’s back when people where skating 7’s lol
8.25 is perfff. All roads lead to 8.25 😆
The only thing I pinch are my loafs in the toilet
6 years later and I’m still
Locked in to the conversation
When dude said i pinch my manuals all the time i died
Crob is straight Skinner meme in this..😂
Can I pinch ?
No, it’s the children who are wrong.
9:23 is like a Seinfeld conversation! I love it
i missed these so much.

I'm 35 myself and I gotta agree.
I mean I'm 18, 8 months late but I agree, locking in on a manual seems more legit
26 and I agree. Pinched manual doesn't seem right pr seem like it should be called that. They are defs more a lock in or lean thing.
Agreed. The new style of super loose, wide trucks is so floppy and saggy. Some guys still doing it right (Yuto, Milton)

Love all the pinch talk.

for real. Thats the pocket, not a pinch. Dont let someone from the generation that doesnt even know which bathroom to use redefine skateboarding.

I feel what they are saying though because the bushings Compress the more you lean so you can pinch. Manual
