Melissa I am so impressed by you not just with your creativity but also with your honesty. I'm also in recovery from opiates and other drugs. Been free from the opiates for years but I had a slip with cocaine over six months ago. But I am doing great now. I've always been quite creative and imaginative. Been knitting since I was 8 was taught by my stepmother who sadly passed away two years ago this upcoming June. I lost my birth mother to addiction when I was 6 . She was actually in the detox facility and choked on gum in her sleep which was March 17th it was also her 29th birthday. I totally get where you are coming from in regards to the DIY projects being an amazing outlet. It's much more satisfying to see beautiful things that you make and display for friends and family. I had a bare kitchen wall because I am always giving my things away if someone likes something I make. It brings me so much joy to watch ppl leaving with a huge smile so it's a win win situation for me that's for sure. No drug can compare to your children 's love and laughter and the joy we bring ppl who are so excited because I gave them something that I made .
Thank you for sharing your sobriety story. I’m sure you have impacted more ppl than you will ever know. I’ve been watching you for years and love your crafts. ❤much love and many prayers. Paula
If you lived in Georgia I would take you to my barn wood guy. He puts his scraps in a pile and I go over and take all that I want for free. 😮 The first time I went, I was fully expecting to only find little 6 inch pieces, but he had so much that were 1-3 feet long. Just amazing and so kind that he gives it away.
🧡I'm new to your channel and I just have to say that I am in love with all of your projects and other videos too. On another note, you give this mama of a recovering addict so much hope for the future... there's always that fear... I know that you know... but you are bringing me comfort. Thank you for incorporating your story into your channel. By the way, she is almost 3 years clean and working on creating her future. 🧡
Wow 🙀 so glad you came thru the other side ❤my brother in law has died twice now from heroin, we are at a loss on what to do, he doesn't want help. God bless you so happy for you!!! ♥️❤️♥️
Girl you just made me love ya more! If that’s even possible!!! I’m in recovery as well from the same DOC. Congratulations on your sobriety! I know it’s not easy but you have such a gift with DIY! So glad you found your outlet! Cuz I loveeee watching! ❤❤❤
I LOVE when you stumble over your words here and there.... Us Mama's are exhausted! We/I stay up late to craft because that's our time and we need it ! Makes you human, relatable and just a little more fun to watch.... I do most of my RUclips video's muted. You and like two others I actually listen to!!
🧡I'm lucky that I live on a property that used to be a farm and there is lots of wood lying around. Can't wait to recreate these pieces. Your style is gorgeous and your creative process is beautiful to watch. Congratulations on 9 years sober! 🧡
Congratulations on beating back your addiction and moving on to a better life with your husband, crafts and kiddos! I can't imagine how difficult that must have been. I deal with chronic pain every day. Reading, writing, and crafting are my therapy. The world is a much more beautiful place now that you are in it, in recovery and making RUclips videos to share your talents with others. 👍♥️ This is the first time I have seen any of your videos. Farmhouse isn't really my style, but I think this project is brilliant and so interesting. I also really appreciate your words of encouragement for people to challenge themselves and just try to create something with their hands. I LOVED it when you said to do things "until your eyes are happy"! That was too funny! I know just what you mean!! I also agree 100% that keeping and showing ALL of the steps involved in your projects IS BEST!! People can fast forward if they want to, but a lot of people are new to crafting. It was very helpful to me that you left everything in and showed the whole process. When other creators edit too much out, they take away the chance for people to see their creation evolve over time. That decision making DURING the creation of your project is a big part of the crafting process. It is where you exercise your creativity and "eyes". If you try something and don't like it, you change it, just like you did with the cotton pieces. Great job! I look forward to watching more of your videos soon! 🧡🧡🧡
I’m 73 with Parkinson’s retired RN and recently I started to craft as a therapy and is hard to me and it takes me a long time to complete a project with mistakes too but I keep doing it I love your videos bless you always keep it up 👍
I loved them all, but I'll have to say barnwood door was fav. 🧡 Congrats on your sobriety! I'm 11 yrs sober, so I know how tough it can be. Yeah recovery 🤗
🧡 Wow, love each of these wood diy's! My favorite is the first diy, I am just in love with that! Of course I loved the one you did for above your bed too. Hugs, Brenda
My favorite was EVERYTHING 🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️ those barn doors were 🔥🔥🔥 I loved the HELLO sign with it, every piece just complimented the other! OUTSTANDING work PER UGE!!! I’ll be 8yrs sober this July 😮 (first relapse in 10yrs 🥴) I’m more mature obviously and have different priorities and interests so there’s no way in HE** I’ll allow myself to relapse again…I do counseling weekly HIGHLY recommend! Im on medication assisted treatment and feel amazing!! I’m so happy for you and ALL of your achievements Melissa!!!!!!!
🧡ALL of your projects and you even more! You're the best, Melissa. Beautiful inside and out! The details on these pieces seriously take these projects to the next level. So much better than store bought!
I absolutely love love love the wall hanging with the fairy lights. I literally buy them by the case at Dollarama because I have no dollartree 😭. I know I can hear the gasps... Lol Dollarama is a bit more ( a lot more actually) expensive but they have beautiful craft supplies as well.

🧡 just a thought Melissa, you could put a layer of black dry brush on the little arched window and then it would contrast better. I was thinking it would be super cute with some little hooks along the bottom so I can put my keys on it ☺ 😆🤗
