    You are correct. I’m overwhelmed by this machine. My last analog synth was a Juno 106, lol.

    Love it, Scott. Good stuff. The Hydrasynth is just a dream for your imagination. Anything is possible. I spend hours just fiddling with everything and the sounds that come out are sometimes an emotional event for me. For reference, My Montage has made tears roll down my cheek while playing with the sonic capability of it from time to time.

    GREAT Tutorial,Man!!!! wow!! I would love to see you create an 80's Bass. That Pad and Lead you did was FIRE!!!!!!

    Using the new voice mod feature (found in 2.0 update) to modulate tuning, filter, etc. has been inspiring new patches. Using the filters in parallel then modulating between the two adds some new color. Quant8z8ng the envelopes adds some great stepping, especially on the release. We could all probably write the world's first never-ending book with all the possible things you could do with the Hydra. As an aside, I did finally make the pilgrimage to Sweetwater in Fort Wayne. Got to play the deluxe. I am a Hydra owner since Jan 2020. It got me through the pandemic.

    Scott, did you know of the Swiss museum of electronics? Because it’s synth heaven with over 1000synths from the 1970s up to the 90s. It’s nothing like you have ever seen and it would be entertaining to see a professional go through their thoughts about so many vintage synths. Oh also it is the biggest collection of synths

    Thank you this is very helpful, but how do we audition patches from the computer to the Hydrasynth? I'm trying to make room for new patches but have to get rid of old ones but it takes way too long to scroll through them all by hand on the hardware device instead of clicking them on the computer to open on my hardware device, when I double click I get the option to rename instead of selecting that patch on my Hydrasynth, what am I missing?

    Thanks for showing your thought process.
    Also thanks for sharing the patches!
    For pads I usually use a different LFO per OSC, to get the sound moving slowly.
    Ringmod I actually never use, but I think I'll have to look more into that!

    Nice stuff Scott, I do a lot of programming with the Hydrasynths too, but usually use presets that are in a range or type I already like, then go about sculpting it from there, mainly as a time saver. But even doing that, I'm just amazed at how lost you can become in experimenting, testing out things, guessing and inquiring by examining various aspects of this deep synth. Before you know it, an hour has passed. Like I've said before, it's a programmer's dream synth, easily the most user friendly and quickly accessible synth and interface I've owned in the 20+ I've had. Just an idea for your first sound I thought would compliment what's there, or as a idea for others: as it's evolving, one mod that might work nicely would be to assign an unused envelope to the wet/dry ratio of the reverb having it fairly dry initially and increasing it using a long attack of 3-5 seconds and using a high sustain. To increase the spacey aspect , maybe use the Cloud reverb too.

    I was looking to get a new Synth. I am so impressed with the Hydrasynth deluxe! Thanks Scott for another great video. I have heard you say in other videos. How great the Hydrasynth is.

    Congratulations for the professionalism present in all your videos. I saw that behind you is Hydrasynth Deluxe. I would like to ask you a question. I am a beginner who would like to buy Hydrasynth Deluxe because I am fascinated by the sound design. Could it also be used as a midi keyboard to play vst of acoustic pianos satisfactorily? Is your keybed adequate? Thanks in advance

      @ScottsSynthStuff  Год назад +4

      The Hydrasynth Deluxe 100% can also be used as a MIDI controller to play VST's. It really does have a great keybed...but it's definitely synth action, so you're not going to get the weighted feel that a traditional acoustic piano normally has. That said, I play pianos on my synth-action keybeds ALL the time.

    Don't apologize for the hair Scott. It says "that guy might know a thing or two about synths." Own it brother!
    Very fun. I might have to revisit this and paint along with your like you were Bob Ross.
    Have you seen Creative Spiral's incredible virtual analog init patch? ruclips.net/video/CijQZcTMEx0/видео.html
    It's incredible. I might start the majority of my sounds off with this. Even my intentionally digital patches. Thanks again Scott, you rock! Much appreciated. Cheers.

    I'd love to learn sound imitation on the Hydrasynth. One reason I bought it as my first synth was a hope that, in addition to creating epic originals, I could approximately mimic my favorite songs without buying tons of hardware.

    I forgot a couple of tricks I meant to mention in my other comment that I've found handy and useful when programming. Both are dependent on the type of sounds you are dealing with, so keep that in mind. If it's anything that is of a shorter nature, or transient, it can be good to set up a latched arpeggio. Slowing the tempo and beat division can help slower attacking envelopes to still make this a useful trick. You then have 2 free hands to adjust parameters. If it's a pad, or a sound with all sorts of more slowly evolving aspects, just use the latch alone. It's so useful for auditioning waveforms, ,filters and mutants. Another useful trick in doing that is to use the solo function in the mixer page so that you can really distinguish one oscillator from another. Similaraly, when looking at a wavesequence, if you push the button above/below the liasted waves it's like a solo function to hear that wave alone.

    Judging by the wide-shot of your studio, your budget for dust-covers must be higher than some people's studio budgets :)
    Which makes it ironic that the Hydrasynth looks well dusty! Sorry...
    Don't worry, we're here for the content not the dust
    😀

      My Hydrasynth gets a LOT of use, it along with the Montage probably are the two that are uncovered most!

    Hi Scott, I am thinking to buy the Desktop version. I suppose the Hydra can make Moog and Prophet sounds as well as more modern sounds. They are available in my country with good price. I was thinking also on the pro 800, but it's still not available in my area. Any help is very welcome. Thanks

    I can do much of that on a Korg, except they stripped thd local controller options & that sucks. Not even with the nano as remedy. It sucks.

    No offsets per voice?

      @ScottsSynthStuff  Год назад +2

      Yes, you can have negative and positive offsets per voice.
