Nikkii, that is a lovely job! Your potholder turned out just the right size, so no worries about not having the "right" hook! As you experiment and eventually grow your collection of hooks, you will see that when a number 0 hook is sold alongside hooks with alphabet names (F, G, or H for example) it will be 3.25mm in diameter. When sold as hooks for crocheting lace, the hooks will all be number-named (in this case, the 0 hook is 1.75mm, and my smallest hook is a 14 = 0.5mm). I wish you all the best in your crochet journey!
My mom has made dollies like this for years out of old books..and yes, cupping is a frustrating issue. Sometimes, too, a pattern is wrong, and my mom has said some very colorful words. 😂❤
