Hi lovely ParieMetal, nice to see you with this suggestion to follow your BM journey, just like here it was the ender for almost every show in the World Tour 2023 and everyone loved to have fun with this one.
"Road Of Resistance" is a power/speed metal song, it's one of their most epic anthem and the album version got the guitar arrangements made by Sam Totman and Herman Li from DragonForce. It's all about facing your own path without looking back.
This was part of the Trilogy Of 2015, live at New Year Fox Festival - Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, by this time their fame was already high due to viral success on YT of Gimme Chocolate! MV, people from all over the world attended this live concert in Japan, and 20K souls witnessed this epic moment.
With only 15 and 17 years old this moment will be forever remember when they're performing this song to reminds them all the support they got from their fans no matter where they go, either a small or big stages.
The Kami Band here are magnificent set of elite musicians whom were send to help with the metal sound, they rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarists).
They are:
- Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums.
- Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil (another beloved Kami Band guitarist who sadly past away) and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar.
- BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but his fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP.
- Hideki Aoyama, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene.
At the end of their shows they always said "We are BabyMetal!" with the crowd, to making them sure that they're part of this show and project too, is a line borrowed to X-Japan saying it at live concerts too.

They are saying we are babymetal 5 times the last thing she says lift your kitsune up. The kitsune is the hand sign that looks like a fox.
Aside from her vocsls her stage presence is astounding. A lot of people say its astounding for a 17 year old gurl but she is fearless for any age.

Just occured to me I have not given you my wall of (un)important information like the fun titles and nicknames given by The ONE (Babymetal’s Fan-base) as well as other (un)important information.
BABYMETAL started as an experimental sub-unit of the larger JPop/JRock group Sakura Gakuin.
They are:
Suzuka Nakamoto\Su-Metal (Vocals and Dance): Angel of Song, Queen Su, Queen of Kawaii, Metal Queen, and Metal Goddess.
Before Sakura Gakuin, she performed in a stage production of "The Adventurers" and was a member of the JPop trio, Karen Girls.
Fun Fact: Bullfrogs are her Kryptonite
Yui Mizuno\Yuimetal (Scream and Dance) Former member since 2018: Angel of Dance, Princess Yui, Tomato Princess, Tomato-Kun, Kawaii Princess and Devourer of Souls (or at least she stares into your soul). Yui had a minor role as a child actor in a Japanese TV Drama before joining Sakura Gakuin. She has cute, chubby cheeks.
Fun Fact: Yui is tickled by Bullfrogs.
** WARNING ** Do NOT, ever, under any circumstances call her “small”, "smol", “short” or “tiny” (same rule applies to Moametal).
Moa Kikuchi\Moametal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Love\Smile, Queen of Hearts, Princess Moa, Kawaii Princess, Super Moa-chan, Maiden of Mischief, and Headmistress of Hedabon. She has huge dimples and a smile that melts the hardest of hearts.
Fun Fact: Loves to troll Su-metal on-stage with little pranks as well as torment Su-metal with Bullfrogs.
Momoko Okazaki\Momometal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Joy, Kawaii Princess, Princess Peach, Vampire Slayer, Kabuki Queen. Also a Sakura Gakuin graduate. Was a contestant on the Korean reality survival program "Girls Planet 999" (which thankfully for The ONE, she was eliminated from early on) and performed in a stage musical production of "Black Butler". Momoko was the only “Avenger” (see below) to perform in the “10 BABYMETAL Budokan” shows in 2021 and was officially named Momometal and made a permanent member in April 2023. She deserves the spot!
Fun Fact: Momoko's father is a popular comedian in Japan known for making dead-pan jokes. Momoko worked very hard to make her way without using his name as a crutch.
BLACK BABYMETAL: Yuimetal and Moametal performing as a duet while Su-metal takes a breather. Also known as “MoiMoi”. There are 4 BBM songs (GJ!, Onedari Daiskusen, 4 No Uta\Song 4, and Sis. Anger) some of which Moametal performed solo a few times after Yui's departure. Now that Momometal is a member, we are hoping for more BBM songs with MoMoa! But only the Fox God knows.
AVENGERS: 3 Dancers who took turns performing the choreography in Yuimetal’s spot after her departure. They were not official members did not have microphones and were not even named. It was the fans who quickly figured out who they were and you will see them in live performances between 2018 and 2021.
They were:
Momoko Okazaki (see above).
Riho Sayashi: Suzuka’s former rival at Actors School Hiroshima, often competing for the same roles. Former “Ultimate Ace” of the JPop Idol group Morning Musume. Now a solo artist.
Kano Fujihara: Former Member of Sakura Gakuin, the school-aged Idol group that BABYMETAL was born out of. Like Suzuka and Moa before her, Kano was Student Council President her last year in Sakura Gakuin and like Yui, was considered arguably the best dancer in SG during her time there. She is now a member of the Idol group @onefive, which is comprised of 4 Sakura Gakuin graduates (Kano, Momo, Soyo and Gumi). Kano only performed with BABYMETAL in Japan as she could not travel, likely due to her commitments to Sakura Gakuin and the then developing @onefive.

This was during their early years where they had yet to achieve global popularity, win awards for their music, and the like. They were new to many international listeners and some were very derogatory, claiming they were a gimic band, were manufactured by the Japanese idol industry - about 2/3 of the way in to this performance Su-Metal yells "Bring them on" in Japanese, likely an emotional response to their detractors. I love this performance for that moment as much as the rest being near perfection.
Look forward to seeing more! There are so many excellent songs and performances, so fun watching along to new viewers.

To remember which is Moa and which is Yui, Moa has the huge smiles and big dimples and will always start a song on Su-metal's left side, while Yui has the round face and chubby cheeks and will always start on Su-metal's right side.
I recommend reacting to "Divine Attack" live as it feels much like a follow-up to Road of Resistance (and Su-metal wrote the lyrics!)

Great reaction! This is by far one of my favorite songs and performances from Babymetal.
The meaning of walking the uncharted road, no matter the resistance, to achieve your dreams not only resonates with the audience, but in fact, is Babymetal’s own path fighting against the grain of “popular opinion” and nay-sayers to establish themselves as a force to be reckoned within heavy metal.
Furthermore, it still amazes me that they have such stamina to deliver vocals and choreography on this level. Many don’t realize, this was the closer to a 16-song, 90+ minute show where Babymetal goes hard the entire time. Pulling that off in-front of 20K sold out fans when they were 17/15 is just incredible. Much respect 🫡.
Also, easy ways to recognize Yuimetal and Moametal:
Yui has chubby cheeks, and is the most “baby-face” of the 3. Moa has easily spottable dimples. Also, if they have gloves, Moa has them on the left hand, Yui’s was on the right hand.
Next suggestion: *Pa Pa Ya!!* I mean, ultra cute, ultra heavy, papayas, festivals, F.Hero rapping in Thai, what else can you ask for?! 🤣

@@parieweekly one reactor from way back (maybe 4-5 yrs ago), she was a professional coach so pretty sure she is an expert evaluator of talent...she said that Su-metal and the BM girls must be "Olympic-level vocal athletes". That really struck a chord in me because that was the first time I could ever recall being "educated" on how physically strenuous singing OR dancing continuously for over an hour even when done separately. Now, think about doing it at the same time for over an hour (with minor breaks) AND still be cute enough to melt the hearts of thousands of hard core metal dudes, who are 2x maybe even 3x their age.. it's really truly mind-blowing how this act is able to pull it through. Every single time in hundreds of live performances for more than a decade now. Just simply extraordinary.
Great reaction. You got it - 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way.
It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow.
At the end they were shouting "We are ... BABYMETAL!" they always end their shows with this and they mean all of us ... we are ALL Babymetal - the girls, the Kami Band, the stage designers, the sound and lighting engineers, the choreographer, Kobametal the producer and (in their eyes perhaps most important of all) the audience, the fans. Everybody involved is Team BABYMETAL and part of the family.
That’s so warming that they included everyone as Babymetal. They amazing work show on the stage of how performers, front stage, backstage had worked hard to make sure everything is perfect. With all my respect to BABYMETAL ♥️♥️♥️

It is easy to see in this performance that she is fully into this song🦊🤘🏾 Babymetal’s producer(Koba-metal) created this band auround Su-metals vocal and performance talent. Yeah, which hand worn glove is the easiest clue to tell Yui apart from Moa, righty Yui, lefty Moa, simple as that. Although in earlier eras they sometimes either switched sides or wore both hands, not that often though. Chubby faces and better dances belong to Yui, big small for Moa, but in reality, much harder to tell than gloves.

It's so funny to see your genuinely perplexed look.. as you rightly pointed out if this song was sung by traditional power metal bands - yes that is a sub genre of metal - you would get a very different aggressive song. If you're trying to remember who is who, Moa is usually on the right side of Su when you're watching them, and Yui is on the left.
Road of Resistance is pure speed/power metal. The guitar parts were written by Herman Li and Sam Totman of the band Dragonforce, who are well known for very fast and intense guitar playing. RoR is usually the finale of their live shows, so they always send the crowd home on a high.
When the people in the crowd all run towards each other and collide, that's called a "wall of death", and when they all run around in a circle, that's a "circle pit".
At the end, Su-metal was shouting "We are!", and Yui, Moa, and the crowd were shouting "Babymetal!", so all together, they are saying "We are Babymetal!". This is their way of saying that the fans in the crowd are part of Babymetal and showing appreciation for the fans for coming to the show and taking part in the performance.

Found this band through my daughter two years ago, and been a fan ever since.
I'm really happy to see new fans reacting to them the way I did when I first saw them.
You are going to get a lot of recommendations from The One that are going to be their more popular videos, but I wanted to suggest some of my personal favorites which don't get mentioned as often.
If you would like to get a better performance of SuMetal's vocal talent, I would recommend From Dusk Till Dawn. Her range in that song is mind blowing. Gave me chills. There is also the Trilogy of Lights, which is a three song performance that includes Starlight, Shine, and Arkadia. And of course there is their First Take performance of Monochrome. SuMetal's vocals in that one brought tears to my eyes. You will get to hear her voice clear with only a piano accompaniment and back up vocals performed by MoaMetal.

I really enjoyed your reaction to this song. It's one of my favorite BabyMetal songs. I have never watched any of your videos before but I definitely will be in the future. 😁 Personally I don't think you can go wrong with any BabyMetal song, but if you are looking for any other recommendations, I would recommend Karate and Megitsune from their older stuff. The girls and musicians are top notch. Their producers set those dreamy stages for the girls. Fans who go to the concert will feel like they are in the fantasy world of BabyMetal. Until recently, I had a biased opinion of Babymetal, thinking they were a joke band. This song changed my opinion. Babymetal is real, high-octane metal, 100% metal (like tungsten carbide). If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to request that old fans recommend some similar songs from their library. I neglected to mention: the reaction is spectacular.
