Great review, however I'd like to add an important point or two for others looking here. The Nova Pro's need the Sonar software running (on a PC) to get the full benfit of the audio and mic. So this is only obtainable when using them on PC. Whereas the Stealth Pro's have onboard memory, so any audio changes made in the Turtle Beach software are stored in the headset which then carry over when using them on console. Also, the Turtle Beach app is available for your phone, so full on the fly adjustments can be made at anytime, whether on PC or console. So in theory the Stealth Pro's are better for console. Console users need to bare this in mind when choosing between the two.
@@travisgarland840yup because Astros are better n they save your profiles from the app to the headset and you just press a button to change it plus you get Dolby atmos for free so eh it’s Astros for life
Indeed, I bought the 2, I stayed with the turtle beach, they have better sound for fps and the configuration from your cell phone is incredible. I didn't like the sound of the Steelseries, I would recommend that instead of buying the Nova Pro, buy the Nova 7.
@@epatinoI reaalllyyy want to buy the stealth pro’s as I mainly just game on competitive FPS. One thing I really want to know however is it possible to connect these headphones to my stand alone USB mic? At the moment I am using the Corsair XT and I am able to plug those headphones into my blue yeti VIA the 3.5mm aux lead. But sadly the SP doesn’t have 3.5 mm aux. Do you know if using a usb C to aux lead adapter would work? Basically I really like being able to plug my headphones into my mic so I can monitor how I sound for example, to noisy or to quiet.
Maybe I had a faulty unit but the Astros were my biggest “premium headset” regret. Couple months in the connectors for plastic cushion on top of the headset broke, and I had to duct tape it to stay on. And since day one, my ears are uneven so when I went to place the headset back on the dock to charge, the headset refuses to make a solid connection due to it being lopsided when placed on the dock, and I have to spend 30 seconds to a minute trying to find the right configuration in order to get the dock to register the headset there. Too many times have I put it on the dock only to come back and see it was never fully connected, despite a magnet on there. Top it off with a very underwhelming sound quality compared to the $150 Corsair headphones I had prior, it wasn’t worth it to me. However, if Astros had a swappable battery packs, I wouldn’t be so harsh, as they are a game changer. I will never go back to a design like Astros where it needs to sit on top of three teeny tiny pins perfectly to get a charge.
Ya, mine did the same thing with the top cushion after a couple years, and ears are super uneven. I didn't have this issue with the gen 3 a50s but they had their own issues like audio cutting out randomly for me. Finally after 10 years of astro headsets switched to steelseries and already like it a lot more, only downside is I can't have audio from pc and console at the same time unless I use bluetooth on pc.
Quick question. Going from a TB Stealth 700 gen 2 (used it for four years) to a Stealth Pro. Is there difference in game audio significant? The complaints about mics stop working worry me though.
Can you use all these headsets for PC audio and console audio at the same time? never mind saw the end of the Video and noticed you said the A50s only connect to one device but im actually using them on my PC and console right now. im very interested in the Steeleseries headset though.
The one thing I love about the novas is the fact that the mic can be fully concealed. They look more like normal headphones and not so much gaming headphones which can be better if used in public. I do think the Nova 7 is a better choice if money is a problem as they’re almost just as good besides the battery swapping and base station. I don’t prefer the noise cancelling and many people say it can get very uncomfortable on the pros. I’m also not a very big fan of the pleather ear cups on the pros, but the Nova 7 have amazing ear cups.
@@GreatWhiteClips is the cover for the battery magnetic like the side panels on the Nova 7? If so an easier way to remove them is to rotate them so the magnets no longer touch and it falls right off
Comfort and sound are very important. That stupid anc nub design flaw with the nova pro and terrible sound compared to the Stealth Pros or Audeze Maxwell make it the 3rd choice by far unless build quality is a higher priority.
After using the A50s for 5 years I decided to upgrade my headset. A50s were a very good all round headset. I tried to the nova pros and I just couldn't make them work for me. Sounds like I am talking into an empty soda can. Yeah you can tweak it to make it better but not good. The built in mic on the stealth pro is better than the mic on the nova pro. This guy is probably getting a good paycheck for shoving the nova pros down our throat.
I currently use the A50s and have been for years and I’m looking to upgrade, so you would confidently say these new Turtles are better than the current A50s??
@Django Velaryon 100%. The active noise cancelation takes some getting used to (or at least for me it did), but once it gets fined tuned to your liking, it is like a night and day difference. I loved my a50s, but since I went to the turtle beach, I can confidently say that I have no desire to go back to them.

Steelseries Mic the worst by a margin to my ears. I loved the feel of them but the ANC mic was just way to uncomfortable. Audeze Maxwell and TB Stealth Pro now being tested out - TB far better than the SS as far as I'm concerned - Maxwell may well be the best all rounder (lack of ANC aside) of them all.
@@frikkievuiltrens yea. Simultaneous BT would be nice but I don’t really need that fortunately. When I use BT with the Maxwell it’s generally all I’m connected to.
@Asa C it's a much cleaner faster bass to me. Can eq the quantity in you want but the quality of the bass is better than the TB imho. Still like the TB when eq'd though- particularly for fps games.

Great video but I will say you can use Astro A50 with Pc and Console at the sametime might be cause of the adapter it let me but ive had them for awhile and do that all the time.
Whats up with headphones dithing the headphone jack?? Once out of battery you're useless. That shiuldnt be the case with the Headphones, gaming ones at that.
That's why they come with 2 batteries, with the steelseries at least, you are still connect to the dock for like 10s when you take the battery to replace it and charge the dead one. And I might be wrong but I thought the SS had a line in port. Also, it's because wireless doesn't teather or constrain you to your chair or controller. after all the years I've had with wired headphones, I can't stand the wire, for all the obvious reasons.
The mute and unmute button on the steel series is terrible. The stupid beep sensor goes crazy. The ANC can touch your ears. I wish I hadn’t bought it. A50 have an app, for both PC and XBOX. Not sure if PS has an app but I’d assume it would. The a50 are wireless and the a40s are not. But comparing a headset that’s about 1 year old to a headset that came out in 2019?
You should test the Audeze Maxwells. Might be the best overall I have tested. Even microphone sounds better than any of the ones you have on this video.
Maxwells came in a couple days ago.. all in all I’m pretty disappointed. The sound is alright but if you wanting to play a competitive shooter where knowing where footsteps are it’s total garbage. The mic is subpar as well..
@nunyabidness5835 Compared to the ones he tested, the microphone is miles ahead. Also for competitive FPS you would want something like the Senheiser HD 560s with an amp and dac combo. For all else, the Maxwells are better, immersion and all!
@nunyabidness5835 I tried the PC38X before I bought the HD 560s, and while good, the HD 560s are much better. You can buy schitt magni and modi and they become even more alive as they have high impedance.
I have the arctis nova 7x comfort wise they are the best set of headphones I’ve ever used. Sound is almost as good as the pros without the higher price tag and without switching out the batteries.
Very good headsets for the price. The imagining and the sound stage lacks behind the Penrose, Maxuell and the Stealth Pro in my opinion. But again, may be the best for the price.
@@saif711 all of those lag behind the hd560s which I use with a dac on my ps5. I use the arctis nova 7x with my Xbox and they sound pretty good to me. The soundstage isn’t as wide as my hd560s but imagining I say is actually quite good for a headset of its price. I find it easy to pinpoint locations on the arctis nova 7x thanks to its flat sound signature.
I liked the turtle beach elite pro 2 being wired and having Bluetooth to take calls and listen to music while gaming was dope I have not found a single headset that does that, currently have the arctics nova pro wired and these are amazing too just wish they had Bluetooth. I tried the wireless and couldn’t get them to work properly plus I like the quality of wired much more.
Not sure what dudes on the stealth pros beat out the audeze and the nova pro. The nova pro is close sound wise but the stealth 100% sound better and the mic isnt even a competition the novas mic is dirt quality.

What are you doing to cause them to break? Throwing them across the room 🤨 literally put them on your head when using then take them off when not using how could they break
I can't speak for other brands, but I had the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen2 Max and after just under a year of normal use, the plastic around the hinges broke. Cheap plastic is the problem. And from what I've heard, the build quality isn't much better on the Stealth Pros. So i'm avoiding Turtle Beach for the time being@@R3D125
Can the Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro's have any control from an iPhone? I am between the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro and the Arctic Steelseries Nova Pro. I am disabled old gamer and cannot walk easily to where the transmitter will be. Basic 8ft distance to UHDTV and Ps5. I am what would be considered 'couch distance' away
I bought the Maxwell and Stealth Pro’s and while they are an incredible headset, I prefer the Stealth Pro due to thicker, fuller and immersive sound so I returned the Maxwell.
Go ahead and never mention the Astro A50s in the conversation of the "best premium" gaming headsets conversation. They wanna charge so much money for what? There is no ANC. As gamers, there are 2 things we care about the most, ANC and Surround Sound. All gaming headsets pretty much have surround sound so if you're charging a premium price but don't have ANC, there is something wrong with the greediness of your company. I will never buy Astros again.
I didn't mean you were getting paid. It's just an expression of showing favoritism. Sound is subjective, I understand that. For example, I like the Turtle Beaches because they can rattle my head with bass yet stay clear with dialogue and details. I play story games and couldn't care less about being competitive. The quality of the microphones are another story. Maybe you just didn't hear the difference like I did and some of the others that have commented. Plus you didn't give an example of the other two after EQing the mics. I respect your opinion, and I'm sure others share it. Keep up the good work.
Did anyone still doubt on that? Have been saying for years that the Steelseries Pro is better than the Astro A50, which the Astro clowns don't believe... Hey... Then good luck with your refrigerator, which is already worse than the V1 of the Steelseries Pro line in all tests.. That the Turtle Beach would be better than the Nova Pro now, I was not afraid of ... If Sennheiser or Bose report an x gasn with a Pro gaming headset then I would like to test an x but until then .... Been thinking for 7 years.... When did the Arctis Nova Pro come out? 🤣😉 I had it from the start, so... There is only 1 headset that is simply better on all points... And that for years... I think it's great... 🤗 In some reviews, the microphone of the Astro slightly better .... You really have to pay a few tens less for that! You get it! 😉😅😉

why is the headset stealth pro general volume sound so soft I really need 100% superhuman hearing to get good volume without superhuman hearing it sounds very soft to me the sound is not there either it all sounds very soft again I am doing something wrong I am about to to exchange the headset for a new Penrose where the sound can be loud and no, I am not deaf, someone with the same problem

My wire on my A40’s broke had them for years great headset instead of fixing them I bought the the nova 7’s the Diablo 4 version best headset I ever had so far.
SS makes great sounding headsets but their build quality and customer service are dogshit.
Just wish the Maxwell had Bluetooth.
@@frikkievuiltrens yea. Simultaneous BT would be nice but I don’t really need that fortunately. When I use BT with the Maxwell it’s generally all I’m connected to.
My main thing is I LOVE bass, how's the bass in the maxwells compared to the TBs? I heard the maxwells are lacking a bit
@Asa C it's a much cleaner faster bass to me. Can eq the quantity in you want but the quality of the bass is better than the TB imho. Still like the TB when eq'd though- particularly for fps games.
@@WhiteHartMart I get what you're saying. Felt like the Penrose had pretty clear quality bass even if it wasn't necessarily deep. Thanks for the reply!
Were is the Maxwell
@@DeAtHvAnGeL I got a pair of pc38x’s, the imaging on them is pretty darn good. I’ll look into the head set you just recommended to me
@nunyabidness5835 I tried the PC38X before I bought the HD 560s, and while good, the HD 560s are much better.
@@Y-J65 Unfortunatly I have never used the hd560s
I liked the turtle beach elite pro 2 being wired and having Bluetooth to take calls and listen to music while gaming was dope I have not found a single headset that does that, currently have the arctics nova pro wired and these are amazing too just wish they had Bluetooth. I tried the wireless and couldn’t get them to work properly plus I like the quality of wired much more.
I only buy turtle beach just for that.
Should of included the Audeze Maxwells they are better imo.
Not sure what dudes on the stealth pros beat out the audeze and the nova pro. The nova pro is close sound wise but the stealth 100% sound better and the mic isnt even a competition the novas mic is dirt quality.
Should’ve searched a video on the Audeze. Leave the dude alone. Hater
@@joshuaostrovsky5398 Not a hater, I own them, I’ve owned over 10 pairs including high end Audiohile headphones and for the $. You simply cannot beat Audeze Maxwells without blowing upwards of $400 on audiophile pair. Gaming headphones are mediocre at best.
Don't bother buying a pair of $300 headsets if they're made out of plastic, especially at the hinges as they'll most likely break after a year or so.
What are you doing to cause them to break? Throwing them across the room 🤨 literally put them on your head when using then take them off when not using how could they break
Break ? Wtf did you do with them...
Buy a warranty
I can't speak for other brands, but I had the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen2 Max and after just under a year of normal use, the plastic around the hinges broke. Cheap plastic is the problem. And from what I've heard, the build quality isn't much better on the Stealth Pros. So i'm avoiding Turtle Beach for the time being@@R3D125
I will get another a50 when they add fast charge and more battery life
Yeah that micro usb is garbage
Dose this work on ps5??
Audeze Maxwell
Can the Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro's have any control from an iPhone? I am between the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro and the Arctic Steelseries Nova Pro. I am disabled old gamer and cannot walk easily to where the transmitter will be. Basic 8ft distance to UHDTV and Ps5. I am what would be considered 'couch distance' away
the novas pro have the dac , u can set up the sound ,anc, transparency and side tone there is super easy
Turtle beach for sure.
@@starstatusvillarreal3747 novas for a miles , turtle have more bugs that cyberpunk when arrives
To charge this headset on ps5 is the hardest thing ever i swear

change a50 to a50 x
Audeze Maxwell teebags these headsets .Halo combat evolved style .Trust me on this my guy and thank me later .
I bought the Maxwell and Stealth Pro’s and while they are an incredible headset, I prefer the Stealth Pro due to thicker, fuller and immersive sound so I returned the Maxwell.
@@deanhasen3220 Did you try the immersive EQ and have Dolby Atmos eq set to game ? Not sure you can get more immersive
@@spudog31 yes I pretty much only used the immersion pre set, and it was great…but not quite as good as the stealth pro
@@spudog31 The Maxwells one weakness is bass, and bass is extremely important to me
@@deanhasen3220 the bass isn’t that great
Go ahead and never mention the Astro A50s in the conversation of the "best premium" gaming headsets conversation.
You’re very biased with reviewing these headsets
I hate the design of the nova pros. They need to make an arctis pro headset. the design is superior.
Fuck i have the Xbox seires x headset its good i wanted a headset for all my systems but not paying this much gonna just get a ps5 pulse 3d
There’s a clear biased opinion in this video
I have the Sony pulses I hate them I’m going to make a big jump please someone help me determine if I should get the A50s or Stealth pros ?
Maxwell
@@rudyg6922 no clue what that is but A50s or stealth pro
@@brickapplex1695 maxwell audeze but between those two definitely the stealth
I got the stealth pro and honestly sounds pretty good. I also have the nova pro wireless and they are not as good as turtle beach
@@barca_plays8726 liar lol
Title says 1v1, actual video 1v1v1 kinda annoyed by that, but still good information despite not needing the Astros
Video seems extremely bias
Tell me you're schilling for steelseries without telling me.
Not paid. Just like it better
I want give away😢
You get it! 😉😅😉
Opinion but ok
we only care about the footsteps btw L
