  • The concept of the A-10 is cool so I'm making my own plane based off of it.
    I'm still a bit sick so my voice might be messed up.

    dedicated CAS aircraft definitely still have a place, the A-10 is only being phased out because we have the AT-802 skywarden, it can carry almost as much ordinance, it has VASTLY better targeting equipment, it has like 10x the flight time, its less than 1/16th the cost, it can land basically anywhere and it is WAY easier to maintain since its basically a crop duster with guns. the thing has already entered service with special forces and is starting large scale production... good God I love our trillion dollar defense budget...

      i think that would fall under the category of low cost aircraft for asymmetric warfare where the us is fighting enemies with little to no way to shoot down aircraft. what im saying is that the a10 is too expensive for those kind of missions and it wouldnt be able to survive in contested airspace against a near pear adversary

      @@katforce3931 what "contested airspace"? the US air force has basically never been challenged since ww2, even if china or russia managed to gain air supremacy (which is about as likely as communism working) just send in our F-35s, F-22s and F-15s.

      @tateranus4365 you still have to consider the ground based aa and manpads. I'm not saying the concept of cas is obsolete, just that the dynamics of warfare have changed so that the A-10 doesnt have as much of a place anymore

      @@katforce3931 yeah the A-10 is literally known for taking direct hits from MANPADs and ZU-23s.

    I think the tail is too fragile for a plane that will get puneded too much

      the a10 has a similar style of tail, though its not angled like this one. im not a material engineer so i dunno if its sound or not

    Not to come of as hateful or negative, but some of your takes on modern warfare seem pretty disinformed. We still see massive tank battles, trench warfare and aircraft are still as useful as ever. Helicopters are another technology written off before the ukraine war that has proven incredibly useful. When you fully look into it, alot of what people say simply isnt true

    • @katforce3931
      @katforce3931  День назад

      what im saying is that we dont see things like the battle of kursk (1943) or the battle of 73 easting anymore with tank warfare and there are no more high intensity dogfights. of course i could be misinformed and we do see things like the bradleys vs t-90m, but when things like this happen, its a massive occasion and there are very few examples. i think its just because people are being more cautious nowadays when fighting near-peer adversaries

    • @lillidde2513

      @ look up the battle of Vuhledar, described as the biggest tank battle in Ukraine to date, and a great example of war in many ways remaining similar to the past, caution in war should be celebrated, after all, it’s us mere mortals that go out there and fight to death, not our leaders, so we can at least be thankful that we no longer have as much risk as soldiers before us

    • @lillidde2513
      @lillidde2513 День назад

      @ I do however agree with the take that a lot of cool military technology is going away and that does suck, the A-10 among others are so cool but sadly just aren’t effective anymore
