My brother, his wife and their small baby moved from Calgary to Toronto a few years ago. They drove the whole way. Just FYI - Saskatchewan is super boring and flat, and Northern Ontario is almost all rugged, sparsely populated, highway is narrower, hilly and just takes way too long to go through. Because of this, be careful when driving at night in northern Ontario. I remember them specifically mentioning this. Apart from that, I'm pretty sure you'll love Alberta and it'll all be worth it.

I am living in Edmonton for 30 years. You are right homes are very expensive in Toronto and Vancouver compared to Edmonton and Calgary. Alberta economy is mostly oil based. When oil price was high ( 2000 to 2009), there were so many jobs here that people from all over Canada were moving to Alberta. Your decision seem to be good. Most people from India are located in SE Edmonton. There are 3 Gurdwara Sahib located in this area. Let me know if you need know any info about Edmonton. Enjoy.

@@priyamathew4839 Hi Priya...in winters its pretty cold here but you can easily manage because harsh winters are only last for few days. Also you can enjoy sun almost whole winters as Alberta receives plenty of sunlight whole year.
I am not much aware of kids as I don’t have kids, but we have some friends here who have kids and they are living pretty good and comfortable life here. Also the taxes are less compared to other provinces, so you can find it cheaper than big cities like Toronto or Vancouver.

What about your jobs ? Which industry you planning to get jobs in after moving to Alberta ? Can you share some insight on that ? Bcz basically it all boils down to being able to afford a good lifestyle whether in Toronto or Alberta and let’s be honest bina aache job ke it’s not possible.
