You might be surprised to point your camera skyward and run a time-lapse all night You can see satellites, sometimes shooting stars. Night Vision Mode is the most sensitive, but it it black and white.
Thank you for sharing. Had a chance to see them myself many years ago..in the mid 1950s. They were visible briefly, by some fluke in the mountains as far south as northern New Jersey. Astonishing. God's artistry at its best.
I thought it fascinating to see the Big Dipper move and rotate across the sky in the 7 minutes we saw if the beautiful Northern Lights! Thanks, much!!!
Yeah, I love that. What a great way for kids to start to understand how the sky moves. Did you notice the North star at the top, just to the left of center?
...well, thank you for Capturing these amazing Videos, and especially, for sharing them with us.... I showed my Wife, and she gave them a "Wow!", too...
Lived in AK for 10 years. I live on the Big Island of Hawaii now. I always say Alaska is the only other place I could live. Its so beautiful. Thanks for posting🙏
Truly awesome!! Thanks for posting this video. Never seen anything like it. Had to see it after watching a Fascinating Horror video about the Carrington Effect.
What are those things buzzing around ... they look like stars but I thought all stars followed a set path unless they were falling? Those white things aren't falling but flying around. 😳 This is lovely footage. Thanks for posting! 🥰
Yes, it did look odd. One viewer said her daughter thought it was Santa Clause. I replied that I wasn't sure, but it looked like a sleigh pulled by some kind of animal. I just watched it again and think it was probably a small cloud... but to be sure, a kind of a strange one.

Awesome footage!! My cousin lives in your neighborhood there in Calgary sent me photos and video too last night. I just arrived from Iceland last Wed and there for a week and I just little bit because of the clouds😄 I should’ve just went there 😄
@@evanderlim MacEwan. It would have been visible all over Calgary though. These things are somethin like 70km up so small differences in location are not going to make a big difference.
I'm not certain. But winter is much more likely than summer because there is far more dark in the winter, especially as you get to the Arctic circle. Auroras are notoriously hard to predict, but we are getting towards an 11 year peak.
@@SimonSharpe Thanks, I got a old HS buddy that lives up in Anchorage, I'll shoot him a txt. I'd just hate to get up there and not be able to view anything..

I loved watching the Big Dipper turn onto its handle throughout this gorgeous showing of the Aurora Borealis!
Beautiful! Thank you!
I have always wanted to see the Aurora Borealis. Thank you! Wish we had something this amazing in South Texas that my Wyze Cams could capture.

I want to thank you for posting this. So beautiful.
Thank you so much for sharing, this is beautiful. I’ve only seen pictures so this is a treat. Thanks again
It is amazing to see them move, but this is a time-lapse, so it speeds them up considerably. You can see them move directly though.
You can really only see the brilliant color in pictures, even in person. Our human eyes don’t pick up the color.
Good reason to invest in studying about The International Dark Skies Association

Thankyou so much for this video, I've always wanted to see the northern light, unfortunately I'm not able to travel due to sickness. Kindest regards 😘
Well, that's one thing the Internet does for us, we can all "travel" to some extent, at least. Good luck with your illness.

Not sure if anyone else caught the strange lights or unexplainable flying object at 1:22 into the fantastic light show. Any thoughts?

It's an airplane. Did a turn to lose altitude to a nearby airport. (propably)
@simon sharpe any idea of nearby airports?
