I like the front porch, but if you're going to remodel these houses, do so in a way beyond the open LR + kitchen plan. Also, make sure to put windows (that you can open) in the bathroom for fresh air. I'd like to see a family room with lots of windows facing out to the backyard. That way it's easy to keep an eye on your children and pets.
