My journey has unfolded into feeling as though I'm lucid dreaming and everyone else is too preoccupied with their dream to realize anything. It's isolating, but thankfully awakeness has no effect on my ability to love and be with the other people around me. It's fascinating how people are so hyper focused on the material they perceive and not at the depth behind it. But it's also understandable, this journey requires the ability to discern the ego, which means to let go of the things that bring them comfort.
Remember when you were young you frequently had that "dreamer" consciousness of "All is Well" ? Then life puts it upon you to earn a living and all the struggles that come with it. And most of your years become a seeking of various methods to find the freeing consciousness you once experienced. I notice some people do return back to what they once had.

When enlightenment happens, you suddenly and naturally perceive with striking clarity that the 'you' who observes, and the world being observed, are both manifestations of the same Unified Awareness. You are a distinct expression of this all-encompassing awareness. The ego, or self, that you have invested so much energy in upholding disappears in the blink of an eye. You are the Awareness within which the movie of all existence is playing out. The feeling of separation dissolves, replaced by a deep connection and unity with all that exists. Compassion flows naturally when you see yourself in others, and realise that our differences are just surface level. Our essence is the same. Awakening isn't the finish line. It's like a door opening to a new path. Habits and patterns don't disappear instantly. When they come back, the key is to face them with awareness. Engage with the world calmly and thoughtfully, instead of letting our ego drive our emotions. Our ego, which craves control and praise, doesn't just disappear. There will be times when we forget. But each time we remember, our sense of being One with everything around us grows stronger, steadier, and easier to hold on to.
