Amazing! I could watch and listen often. Interesting, and I WILL do this when I get the grandchildren into their own home - hopefully soon. Anyway as a precursor to actually doing this, I continue watching and learning something. I am sketching almost daily and doing some color. Thank you for the videos.
Wow, what an amazing video! I'm very new to working with alcohol markers and this has taught me so much! The outcome is stunning! Thank you for this brilliant tutorial. 👍🏼
Absolutely fantastic marker and colored pencil frog portrait! Your drawing skills are really good- so important for developing realism. I loved watching you progress from light sketching up to the finished frog with highlights and shadows. Big like!!
*PLEASE HELP* When i use colored pencils over the markers, i can't seem to get white to show. The same with the lighter colored pencils over the darker markers. It just doesn't come through like these videos. Is there something i'm doing wrong? I'm using alcohol markers as the base. Then using the colored pencils on top. The pencils just don't stand out or come through at all. Please help me... i could really appreciate any input.
I loved this so much I want to draw a colorful frog now thank you for posting such good content! 💜 Do you have a social media platform or community where you also interact with other artists? I would love to connect if you do. Thanks Amber!
I hate toads and frogs, but I wanted to see how you did it, and I'm glad I watched. VERY informative. Thank you! I'm gonna try your technique, but I think I'll stick with the mammals! LOL
Marker paper? Couldn't you have been a little more specific? There are dozens of marker papers out there and there's a huge difference between the flimsy 18lb Canson paper and the more sturdy Strathmore or Copic paper.
Hi Matthew, You can use any brand that you wish and see similar results - the brand doesn't matter much here, but I used Canson Marker paper. Yes, it's thin, but it works great.
I've watched this video about 10 times. You have done such an awesome job. It's one of my fav videos
Gorgeous frog! Your narration is really relaxing. ☺️
Love this one! Can’t wait to go back online and make it with the detailed instruction!
Absolutely one of the BEST tutorials out there! Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together for us all!!

What papers do you find work best for mixed media with markers and color pencil? 😊
Very good instruction, thanks!
Super and inspiring
Great vid, thank you
Alkohol marker will fade. What then with this frog? Can you prevent it from fading?
Can I add marker layer on top of pencil layers, (for example for hairs or highlights) without to have archival problems in the future.
Yes, but the graphite will show though if you use alcohol-based markers.
@@thevirtualinstructor thank you for your answer, you help me a lot, i will use posca markers (water based)
When you refer to the colorless blender, are you talking about the alcohol marker blender, or something else?
So Sweet 😍
Lovely!! Are you using Prismacolor pencils?
What pencils were used?
So about the pencil colors, the pencil color is not necessary to be the aquarela pencil colors?
QUESTION: When you use an alcohol-based marker, do you need special paper as regular alcohol-based inks will bleed through most types of paper?
May Loo yup. Bristol works best
Can u draw with just pencils ?
Well now, I never have thought to put to use both materials in a single production

Venger prismacolor white often turns milky over other colors. Try a polychromos white pencil instead.
