I first discovered highschool dxd when I was 12. My older brother got his first phone and bought some games on the Google play store and I frequently asked him to play games and when he got a new phone I got his old phone and I was new on RUclips so I switched from my RUclips account to my brothers and I found a channel that reviewed ecchi style anime and saw reviews for kill la kill and highschool dxd. I watched both anime legitimately rather than clips on RUclips 6 years later only to find out that channel got deleted off of RUclips and I'll be forever thankful for them for introducing me to kill la kill and highschool dxd. The pogchamp meme reminded me of kill la kill and this highschool dxd opening reminded me to watch highschool dxd and I finally found a way to watch both online. Both are my favorite anime and my first anime. I hide it by saying Naruto is my first anime but deep down highschool dxd and kill la kill have a place in my heart forever.
Dude I'm a huge rock fan but recently all I can listen to is anime openings ( it goes without saying that Japan put the most effort into their tv show openings )

When DxD was under the right studio... I'd really wish infinite seasons from TNK studio... it was my first anime, back in 2013... never forgot or got tired of it... it would have been superbe to have 5 or 6 seasons from TNK
TNK failed DxD with Season 3 to the extent where the author wrote an entire series to fix the atrocity and season 4 rejected the entire existence of BorN. Passione did it justice. TNK even had crappy animation and choreography through and through. Passione is the way.
TNK absolutely botched the story though. The anime is basically non-canon because of them. The animation was better but The butchering of the story and characters is unforgivable.
This was one of my first animes💀(My first being Shimoneta☠☠☠) This show had a really good story and stuff, hope we get a Season 5 soon. I have hope that Season 5 will come out in 1-3 years

Way better than Jujutsu Kaisen. Plots actually pretty good and could easily stand alone without all the ecchi fan service. Tbh i think the ecchi actually hurts the show more than it helps. Not for me because I am a man of culture but for the masses of uncultured swine that exist on this planet.. The ecchi puts the show into a sub-category of anime that isn’t mainstream and prevents a lot of people from watching it. But the actual universe is ingenious. A universe where all mythologies are present on top of the writers own personal additions creates a vast yet under stable world with limitless possibilities for story. The sacred gears is a unique way to give characters strong unique and relevant powers and fulfills the typical shoennen trope of the hero being useless but through perseverance, hard work and a secret incredible power becomes the legend he was born to be. The evil pieces idea is a cool and unique addition that adds depth to the story as well. I really like this part. It’s kinda like the world tournament in dragon ball. It lets the writer have epic fights that isn’t just your typical brawl to save the universe. If they rebranded the show and kept only the base plot without all the ecchi I think it not only stands on its own I think it would be regarded as on of the best shoennen anime’s. This maybe an unpopular opinion as well but It would be ranked above Black Clover.
