I think only Rafikki's mice was connected to the tv camera's. Also, the actress playing Rafikki doesn't speak a word of Dutch, she learned this phonetically. How awesome is that?!

This musical was, no, is so magical. I had goosebumps again. This was Giovanni's first ever musical. I took him to it for his 9th or 10th birthday when it was in The Netherlands. I would go again ❤️ this musical is in my top 3 best musicals

Regarding the mikes: they are carefully placed a lot of times around the hairline, usually just covered by a wig or a head dress. Musical technicians have perfected the art of mike placement and they spend a lot of time experimenting where the space is for a given performer.
The first Dutch version was even more impressive! Check out the part where Lebo M took over the mic from the host to celebrate the win 🥰

Woooow i am so happy you place this video, and seriously, i was little bit looking on youtube, and i saw this video, you did it today 9 March, the first tones i got tears in my eyes, i have that always with the Lion king, in Dutch is the name 'De kringloop van het leven' the circle of life yes, this program is every year on the Dutch tv, they give then the musical awards, like Oscars but then for Musical in Holland, because we are a Musical country, i follow you, thanks mate :)

I visited this Dutch musical of The Lion King. It was amazing and really beautiful. I was really surprised how good the translation was and all the songs where magnificent.
This exactly as its performed in the musical. Its fully immersive and breathtakingly beautiful right from the outset. The puppeteers surprise and delight the audience every time when they come down the aisle.
Together with the music and costumes, it's one of the best West End/Broadway shows produced. It's spectacular to watch live.
I've seen it live 5 times over the years and I never get tired of it. I love the Disney animated original but this is 😘.

Paul? In theater, the microphones are beautifully concealed on the forehead or on the cheek. They are camouflaged with make-up or costume parts.
But this was an sneak peak from the new cast during the annual musical gala. The sound was not really good here.

If you're an Operatic Soprano you most likely don't need a mic. I saw the show last year in Austin, Tx and it was worth every single penny.
