I am no religious person but I love Stryper. This song brings lots of positive memories.
For most people the word "religion an religious" it's a synonym with something good or God for that matter, but these words are for those who blindly follows rules, traditions and rituals.
Real christians are not religious.
Religious are those hypocrits who love to show the world they are into something pious when in actuality they are just maggots pretending to be what they are not.

Stryper is great because of the music, not because they have a following of bible thumping assholes. Michael Sweet is a great musician along with the rest of the band. It's music and everyone is so blind to see that real rock/metal fans appreciate good music, not because a band sings about a particular topic. I listen to all sorts of metal and could care less if Stryper was Christian, Atheist, Buddhist, Muslim, Satanic, Catholic, Jewish. They put out great music and that should be the focus.

the one christian band all christian bands should STRIVE to be as good as. they truly are doing it right. I've been a fan of Stryper since I was little. Not the message, the band. Not a big religious person, but, they are just a great band who happen to sing about Jesus and stuff.

Dokken overall is heavier than stryper. Listen to any of Dokken first 4 albums and you'll noticed they never did anything as soft as honestly or together as one. Tooth and Nail is one of the heaviest hair metal song, its close to being speed metal. Lightning strikes again, till the living end, turn on the action, Kiss of death etc contain some of the heaviest riffs in 80's metal. Imo Dokken is much more closer to traditional metal than hair metal. Sure stryper had Soldiers under command and more than a man, but Dokken had tons of heavy songs as well.
i love to see another cfh on christian rock debating weather dokken was harder than stryper haha docken was more grounded to dirty metal, imo stryper interpreted a new way of communication back then to get youngsters. atleast it sounds like that. i love it though! great melody and text. if you compare those to what phil anselmo had to say it comes to the same conclusion. the real question is: will we survive this night?

Those are definitely great albums as well. However this one had a special meaning and place in my heart at that time in my life.
