Such a master of wet on wet, dynamic colors, lights and darks, and scraping.
Absolutely magnificent ! Your paper takes a lot of punishment, the way you scrape off the colors. But creates a wonderful effect.
Another beauty-the magic starts to happen when you use the palette knives to lift the trunks!

How your paper can stay flat after all those brush works?
I never knew you can scrape the watercolor... Also how do you keep it wet that long?
The paper still needs to be damp but wait til just after the sheen is gone. Wait too long and it wont scrape. I think he must often wet the back before he starts to keep it damp longer, thus allowing the paint to blend
@@annegresock7928 would he use a damp board underneath the paper?
@@sidilicious11 Gosh, this demo was done almost a year ago but I do remember this one. Javid is very accomplished and uses many styles. You just thoroughly wet the back, then either tape or clip it to a board. I’ve never tried wetting the board. My boards are all plexiglass.
