The only thing that I think is missing is bobby pins, hair ties, moose, and black socks to match the shoes. Also girl products. Jic that month comes. But thats to only our guard so it depend on what ur team needs
Everyone is required to have their own hair products in their personal bags so we don't generally keep those. And we perform in foot paws so no need for socks, but you are right it's definitely based on what your particular guard needs!
@@SpintronixGuard yea see we have these black danceing shoes forget what they are called be have to wear black socks or uh the sockish things for like slidez and heels. They are lower than ankle socks
My guard is never prepared lol but we've never bad any incidents my guard had 16 people preform and I honestly loved it my first year and guard marching season is my favee
+JIM-IN JIM-OUT where do you live? If there's an independent group near you then it doesn't matter that your school doesn't do it, you can spin independently!
SpintronixGuard I'm thinking about learning independently. I live in a very small town where everyone thinks the same so that's one reason why my school doesn't do it. There's one school around here that does it but I don't go to it anymore.
I like to keep feminine hygiene products in our guard bag as well. Because you never know. I have each girl bring two of whatever they use and is labelled, because nobody likes to use a different kind/type than what you're used to.
+Mrs. Hemmings yes; body, body, body! If you have a mirror or a large window where you can check out your reflection it works best. But practice your posture, your movements, and make sure your body looks the way it's supposed to so that when you have your equipment in hand. Good skill to you on the audition!!
The tape is EVERYTHING... You will use it to tape your equipment, either to hold it together or to change the color of it. Plus it comes in useful for a myriad of other uses,
+Annie Keller You might think I'm crazy, but if you can find a George Miller & Sons wooden rifle, they are the BEST. I have a set of those that are over 12 years old and have NEVER broken. However, they are difficult to find because they aren't in production anymore. The next best thing would be an Ultimate rifle, and then probably a King. I used to recommend the Elite, however we bought Elites again this year and they were basically garbage; fortunately we went through a really nice company at www.mccormicksnet.com and they sent us some replacement parts and we have been treating those replacement parts like glass to try to keep them from breaking again.
+Annie Keller Also, I absolutely hate plastic rifles, wood is the way to go. Unless you are wanting to purchase an Elite rifle; I would buy plastic rifles before I would buy an Elite ever again.
8:18 lol yeah so true. last year we used really really tall props and they were a pain in the butt. I remember that first friday performance was my very first performance ever. it was also the first time ever pushing the props on the grass. i started pushing the props and my prop FELL OVER IN THE MIDDLE OF A PERFORMANCE! TWICE! Thank God we aren't using them any more. this was the show ruclips.net/video/ho6vD7h0ABU/видео.html
I’ve never seen a man tear tape, however I’ve seen LOTS of women do it. ;-) Anyway, that works in a pinch but if you want it done pretty then scissors are the way to go!
you should do a packing a DCI bag, for April camp, and whatnot.
Ooh that’s not a bad idea...
We have our own Prop team, it’s really helpful.
That’s awesome!
so in my guard team i'm always the most prepared with everything anyone could ever need and seeing how prepared she is i just aspire to be like her!
Yes, do it girl!!
Could you do a what's in my color guard bag, but for personal guard bag? Or a bag to bring to comps/football games for individuals?
Yes! That's a great idea... In fact, I could have one of our students do it.
There’s a girl in our guard that has a thing of Ibuprofen in her bag it seems it gets passed around every practice
Hopefully at the end of practice and not the beginning at least!!

This was helpful! I made my schools winter guard and she told us to look up what to keep in our bag and bring it to the first practice!!
+Joella Grace excellent!! Now you know exactly what you can do!!
My guard is never prepared lol but we've never bad any incidents my guard had 16 people preform and I honestly loved it my first year and guard marching season is my favee
It's so great getting this kind of info from an experienced member of guard, thanks so much!
Thank you for making this video. soo helpful
+Blushful Director (Renasia Waller) of course! Glad we can help!!
I wish my school did guard...it looks so cool

+JIM-IN JIM-OUT but is there a team near you that is not school affiliated? You can look your state up on wgi.org and find out!
SpintronixGuard Sadly no but thank you I will look :)

+Everything Color Guard that's a great idea thank you so much!!
Wait.....Those small screws on the strap of a rifle are called Chicago screws? I never knew that.
+kearanyrese1 yep! And if you have a really good hardware store they will have Chicago screws in stock. 😊
I would keep extra carriage bolts cuz you never know lol
Good point!!
We have fatmax and it's great
That's the best one I've heard yet...!!!
I'm about to audition for my high schools team and I am extremely nervous. Do you have any tips on how to practice at home without flags or rifles?
+Mrs. Hemmings yes; body, body, body! If you have a mirror or a large window where you can check out your reflection it works best. But practice your posture, your movements, and make sure your body looks the way it's supposed to so that when you have your equipment in hand. Good skill to you on the audition!!
yes that ibuprofen xD
+Sarah Heckman right?! We go through that stuff, I gotta say...
What’s the point of the tape I’m trying out this year
The tape is EVERYTHING... You will use it to tape your equipment, either to hold it together or to change the color of it. Plus it comes in useful for a myriad of other uses,
Also band aids dont stick when spinning so our guard so we put the tape on it
If I am thinking about getting rifle, where should I get one?

omg our gaurd bag looks like a mess we have everything and then some and its all over in ours
It's one of the reasons I love using a tool bag. There's a lot of little pockets that are easy to access!!
That is true I'm gonna talk to my coach to getting one
+Allison Martin good luck!!!
Thanks have a good day
Where are the Bobby pins? lol
+Allie Gendron the girls generally have a million of their own Bobby pins, thank goodness for us. But that's DEFINITELY a good idea to keep in there!!
I think our guard needs to get a husky considering we are doubling in size
+Ali Yearley You should! They are a little expensive, but well worth the money for what it does.
Ali Yearley lol my guard went from 6 people to 14 last year and now we have 18!! It's crazy!
+Megan Druschel what an awesome year of growth!! We were about the same at SIG, we went from 14 to 17 and it was crazy good.
My guard director told us we can’t use scissors to cut our tape he told us that we just have to be a man and tear it
I’ve never seen a man tear tape, however I’ve seen LOTS of women do it. ;-) Anyway, that works in a pinch but if you want it done pretty then scissors are the way to go!
My middle school has 45 flag people out of 60 who tried out the high school has 20
