Apply lotion or Vaseline on the areas you spray plus also spray on your hair. Try not to spray on your clothes cause some colognes have oils that stain
Last week I grabbed both of the Guess 1981 colognes Los Angeles and Indigo off recommendation from a friend. I like both. Especially LA. Which smells like Eros. Indigo will be an easy dumb grab for summer nights. Smells like a dirty coconut. The fig is very present. Each worth it for $13.
TJ MAXX used to have many colognes for cheap price, now in 2023, NO! But Burlington is across parking lot: TONS of colognes (and perfumes). Today BOUGHT PERRY ELLIS (GRAY BOX) and MARVEL BLACK PANTHER and FORD MUSTANG BLUE, I bought without knowing the "smells", was hoping you could review these 3 colognes. Have not opened yet. AND BOUGHT 2 OTHERS I KNOW AND USE: pierre cardin AND halston. I usually AND ALWAYS use ASPEN since 1989, always get compliments regarding that cologne! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Your Ferragamo Uomo video the other day prompted me to go check my local Burlington and they had one left! Snatched it up at $40. Been looking for it since I got Uomo Signature back in 2020. They are both so good.
I am with you on the 3am. My least favorite of the Sean John. Signature is good, Unforgivable is really good. The atomizer on the 3am should be mandatory on every scent, incredible.
My last racktore haul of 2022.....Hugo Boss Reversed (ok)......Mont Blanc Starwalker Intense (great).....Alfa Romero Black (surprisingly unique...good performance....dark...) and the best one IMHO was Ben Sherman-Icon !!!......soooo good....$15..but performance is medium.
One more thing. Funny, but on my bottle of Dunhill Custom, the silver strip on the cap is plain, not embossed with "Custom". Got it at Burlington and it was sealed. You've almost got me talked into trying that Century Blue.🙂
Azzaro L’eau is a pretty good fragrance and doesn’t smell like anything I’ve smelled before. It opens with a grapefruit and Yuzu bomb that stays pretty much the entire time although less strong after a while. About two hours in you start to get the OG in the background along with the citrus. I personally like it and it is real different.
Stuart I love it! So much so I included it as an honorable mention in my best rack store finds in 2022. You are spot on. ruclips.net/video/YcaOP7IwTTQ/видео.html
@@gerardgeorge I like it, a office safe scent! Its definitely a worm to hot weather scent! With this i think in a controlled environment this will do well and get a few compliments, I've had it for 2 months so its been a out the shower around the house thing.
I'm glad you reviewed Dunhill Custom, I've had my eye on it for a while. Too bad about the performance. I've mentioned to you that I love Century Blue. I have Dunhill Edition and it's very good but my favorite is the original Dunhill for Men, the 1934 release. I bought it in the late 70's and wore it as a signature for quite a few years. I repurchased it about 5 years ago and it's still wonderful in its latest formulation. It's class in a bottle with a very slight petrol twist. I saw a vintage bottle on eBay for a decent price but since I enjoy the current version, I didn't pull the trigger. Thinking of adding another video per week? If you do, I'm ready for it!
Dunhill makes some fantastic fragrances that have seemed to hold up quite well. The only one I tried that I didn’t like was the original Dunhill Century.
Hey Gerard, congrats on 3K and I wish you continued success! 👏🏻 Did you pick up Banana Republic Grassland and if so, would you recommend getting it? I have been wanting to try that scent but it's been out of stock here in Ireland for the last while.
I saw you pick up Grassland from Banana Republic icon line and put it down. I actually love that fragrance. It was one of my favorite pickups last year for cost. Metal rain isn't bad either.
Duhill century blue is one of my favorite blues I don’t understand why it gets some bad reviews. Another blue that is fantastic is Missoni Wave. I also have custom and I love the fragrance but it lacks some in performance, so I just over spray. Missoni’s have the best atomizers. My signature scents though have been just about any Code, I love Absolute and the new Parfum with the Iris is awesome. My favorite CK is Eternity EDP, a little older school but I wore this back in the day and it brings back memories, but the new EDP last! My last rack hall was BR leather and Tonka bean, not bad at all. My best find at TJ’s was Eros Flame gift set, 100ml, deodorant and aftershave cream $49! This is a favorite too!
I was at the Ross in Pico Rivera in So Cal and they only had like 6 different men's fragrances and thier fragrance rack was mostly empty. So not restocked yet. At the Ross in Pico Rivera
Hey I think may have told you about custom a while back. Shame the performance I bad I have the same issue but I use lotion and spray heavy because I love the scent.
Picked up Penguin Premium Blend and Denim last night. I've always wanted to give Premium a try and couldn't pass it up for $11.99 on clearance and it came with body wash. I've never heard of Denim before and got that for $11.99 as well. I don't go to the Ross near me bc their selection is pretty sad. Normally just Perry Ellis, Nautica, Guess, Jordan and those random Marvel or Fila fragrances.
All my rack stores in my area are mostly bare shelves. Such a shame. Almost picked up Defy that was the larger bottle 6.7oz reduced to $44.99. passed on it. After your review kinda glad I did. I did grab a bottle of versace blue jeans which for some reason I have never smelled before. Not a bad fragrance I gotta say. Dunhill custom is great smelling but trash on longevity. I keep it in my car for if I just need something to get by.
I had Defy EDP in my hand. I put it back. I've smelled the EDT and it's ok. However, even at $40 for the EDP which is a great price it's just super average stuff. If it goes to $29.99 I'll grab it.
That Banana Republic, Grassland was a score. You don't see those too often in Burlington anymore. I also bought Dunhill, Custom at Burlington this year. I put it with Lamborghini, Classic as generic, forgettable fall fragrances.
Your stores have a great selection. My wife and I visited seven rack stores yesterday. Five of them had literally nothing on the mens fragrance shelves. The other two had about a half dozen bottles each. Very disappointing.
I went to Marshall's yesterday and there was literally no mens frags in the whole place other than Axe. I grabbed a bottle of Voyage from Burlington though so it wasn't all a loss. But definitely bare bones still
@@cradd7108 My local Marshall's never has men's frags except for 1axe or Voyage. I walk around the whole store and never see them. More than once. Guess I should go in and ask why they don't carry them.

Nice video G! Dunhill is a nice smell but like you said, performance is ok. CK seems like a nice fragrance but not for the price. I need it at those CK Summer prices
My last Burlington purchase was Ungaro Fresh for Him a sharp ,pithy refreshing ,zingy grapefruit( think the opening of Light Blue Forever) my mother had a bottle of Diva back in the day, so I am familiar with the 🏠, but,I thought they went extinct 🤣) ginger ,with some violet leaf and Vetiver in the base a 1ml was like $8.and I was IMPRESSED with this lil cheap thing,I feel.like it would do better in the heat of Summer tho..The bottle is ugly and feels super cheap but the scent..
hey kehd defy ck is actually a decent cologne for a designer. too bad that faucking horrible robot perfume by paco rabanne out shined it... that smell that throws you off is lavender. all the designers fragarance seem to be using the same generic ingredients. never tried that dunhill fragrance but yeah i would believe its better smelling. try molecule 01 or molecule 02 with it for longevity
Dunhill Custom is great, but you can either overspray it or put it on your clothes. Calvin Klein Defy EDT was a wild disappointment to the point where I didn't even want to look at the EDP. That said, I utterly hate Sean John 3AM. It's the worst thing I own. I keep it only to remind myself of my hubris. And because I don't want to pass on the curse. In all honesty I'm getting ready to give away a bunch of bottles as part of a declutter and that's being forced upon someone, but the point stands. I hate that frag so much. The only saving grace is that it doesn't last more than hour.
@@gerardgeorge this is long, so don't feel like you need to read it, but if you're inclined, this was the review I wrote for it. Sean John 3 AM This shit sucks and I hate it. Ratin- Okay, fine I should at least say why it sucks, but more importantly I think it would be good to give a little cautionary tale as well. To start, I am not going to dunk on all celebrity fragrances, there are some out there that are of shockingly good quality. Like anything, if they get a great perfumer or IFF to make their fragrance and they care how it turns out, it will likely be okay. Arianna Grande, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Antonio Banderas come to mind immediately as celebrities with decent to good fragrances. There are many more who have trash fragrances, but you can't write off a fragrance immediately just because you recognize the person's name on the bottle. With Sean John 3 AM, everyone I knew in the fragrance community was hyping this up forever and I just had a gut instinct that I wouldn't like it. I think it debuted at retail for like $70 and I did that J. Jonah laugh from Spider-Man. Then it dropped to $40 and I kept laughing. Discounters finally got it to $20 and I thought "Why would you charge me $20 when you could just go away instead?" Finally, I had a fragrance guy be like "Please bro, you got to try it bro, just $10 brand new I promise you'll like bro, you just have to try, please." I would rather buy a full Little Ceasers pizza, leave it in my car all day and then overnight and then drive around with the windows rolled up than use this as an air freshener. So first part of the cautionary tale: If you have concerns, try before you buy. There are definitely times where a blind buy is okay, and that is if you can look at the perfumer and see what else they've done, you look at the company and see the quality they're used to working with, and if people who share your sensibilities like it as well, there's a good chance with all of that you should be fine. The guy who made this is known for mediocre Avon scents and Puff Daddy gave the stamp of approval. This one is on me. So, to get into the notes and what this reminds me of, I will say if that if this was a challenging niche fragrance from Killian called "Forgettable day at a mall bathroom" I would have said "Congaits. You don it." But it's not, this is called 3am which is presumably the only good time to wear it because everyone else is asleep and can't smell you. So, according to the fragrance notes the top notes are supposed to be Bergamot, Mandarin Orange, and Cardamom and at first I wanted to say "Well, that was a fucking lie." But after giving myself several sprays in the same spot, I finally did get some kind of citrus note, but it's sort of like when someone throws away an orange smootie and the air conditioner is busted, so the heat gives it a note like it turned. The mid notes are listed as fig leaf, orange blossom, and geranium. I definitely don't get that, but there's something in there that made me gag for a split second. And lastly the base notes are tonic water and leather. There is 100% zero leather notes to be found in this, but I will say the tonic water is a small blessing because this entire scent doesn't last more than an hour. Easily the weakest performaning fragrance I own. So, in a nutshell here's what I do pull from this scent. You're in a mall bathroom. A frustrated and sweaty dad is using the baby changing station. Nearby, a trash can is overflowing and someone dropped their lunch in there, spilling an orange smoothie that no one has bothered to clean several hours later. The baby is screaming, and the dad uses way too much baby powder. It practically chokes you as you walk by. Automatic lavender scented air fresheners have been working overtime, but they are only masking the offending scents, not eliminating them. You wonder absently if the Gamestop is finally closing this year. "3 AM by Sean John. Because if I don't have my name on at least one of everything, the curse will take hold and I will rapidly age 100 years in a day." I don't know what to do with this. I own it, I'll never like it, I can't sell it, and I don't think anyone wants it. Throwing it away feels like a waste. Wait, I know what I'll do! I'll keep it as a sort of whammy worst case scenario roll in case I ever do a random fragrance a day sort of challenge! Brilliant! And again, just to reiterate, you may actually love this! Everyone has a different nose and from looking at reviews, talking to other collectors, and everything else, this seems to be mostly enjoyed. I am definitely the outlier here. That said, I'm giving honest reviews and I honestly think is cheap and tacky in a bad way, and I have immediate regret about buying it. It's not the worst fragrance I've ever smelled, but it's definitely the worst thing I own. Rating: 3/10
@@majortom5190 I just asked on my Facebook if anyone wanted anything, and I put aside a couple of bottles a piece for friends. So like I had an extra 50ml of Versace Man Eau Fraiche since I have a 100ml, a 100ml of the new formulation of Black XS since I still wear the old formulation and Black XS Los Angeles, Perry Ellis 360 Red which I don't use, some redundant clones, I don't know, nothing major, it's just a declutter.
Because if I don't have my name on at least one of everything, the curse will take hold and I will rapidly age 100 years in a day."
I don't know what to do with this.

Which frags are you planning to give away?
@@majortom5190 I just asked on my Facebook if anyone wanted anything, and I put aside a couple of bottles a piece for friends. So like I had an extra 50ml of Versace Man Eau Fraiche since I have a 100ml, a 100ml of the new formulation of Black XS since I still wear the old formulation and Black XS Los Angeles, Perry Ellis 360 Red which I don't use, some redundant clones, I don't know, nothing major, it's just a declutter. Nothing I particularly hate, just stuff I don't use and I want to make room.
@@DannyBellTheAuthor okay thanks👍🏽
King Of Rack store!!!
Khai! My man
interesting.. I was curious about these 2
I saw dunhill custom many times in the rack stores
maybe for defy you need more wears on it...
that happens (as you know for sure) that initially we dont like much.. then later we start liking..
it was not a love at first sniff here it seems.. hehehe
Exactly Ismael I agree. I wore it this week to test further.
@@gerardgeorge I still have some fragrances that I did not love yet and can wear only in winter since it’s summer now for me
Others I started enjoying more already Like love & luck, 360 red and rochas l’homme
They are very light so it took me a while to decide if I really like.. which I do now
Rochas lasts more than 8 hours.. so it’s the winner of these 3 hehehe
There's a reason these failed fragrances are in rack stores.
Some are trash. Some are excellent.
How old are you ??
Oh! I like this game how old do I look??
