@@loicmburanumwe5879 offensively sure, but even with just the eye test you can tell McDavid isn't on the same defensive level as Crosby. Plus faceoffs. I'm referring to everything he needs to do on th nice. Not just producing goals
Considering how good the goalies have become in the last decades, how good the defensive systems have become, I think we're lucky to have players like Crosby, Mcdavid and many others playing in the league.
All the players that every one claimed were the best are in their mid 20's. Sidney Crosby has changed the game to the level it is today. In his latter years of his career, he has led the Metropolitan/East division to the best in this season and leads his team in points and scores with Guenzel and Rust, but most of all is his leadership! Penguins has gone to the playoffs 15 years in a row, Capitals are 2nd with 7. That is since he joined the team! Crosby is the best all around player with no doubt.
most of the people really dont care if people around the NHL care about crosby or think hes good. Us in pittsburgh know how good he is and how he is and will never take it granted. Penguins are probably one of the most slept on teams this season. Won the hardest division in the NHL and hardly heard a word about the pens on NHL network and i watch that stuff on the daily.
I agree, I wanted to show some plays that might have otherwise been forgotten. I found especially this year that there were a lot of great passes that never resulted in goals.
The McDavid hype is deserved, but it makes me mad because so many people forget the pace Sid was setting from 2010-12 before he got knocked out for a whole year. In 2010-11 Sid had 32/34/66 in the first 41 games which was the same as McDavid this year (McDavid had 68 pts I think) and that was against a rougher league and goalies who didn’t have the equipment changes that nhl recently enacted to enhance goal scoring. He came out in 2011-12 at an even greater pace. Who knows if he would’ve hit 100 pts in 53 games the way McDavid did but I think he would’ve had a 60/70/130 season. Always overlooked in so many ways. Will always be the most complete hockey player ever in my eyes. He makes the play happen before the play even starts.
Couldn't have said it any better. People don't realize that scoring is significantly higher now than it was back in Crosby's prime years. The average goals per game for a team back in Crosby's 6th and 7th seasons were 2.79 and 2.73. This season it's at 2.93. The reduction in goalie equipment and stricter penalties on slashing and holding have significantly impacted this. Not to take anything away from McDavid who is having a historic season, but you're right, everybody seems to forget about how dominant Sid was in Year 6 as well.
@@PuckinAround No doubt it is a faster more open game now. 10 years ago it the regular season was like playoff hockey is now, except the goalies had equiptment that made sure they didn't get bruised by shots.
for this season.. nobody looks at the divisions... the East division has more even high powered teams [with the obvious exceptions] where as the other divisions have like 2 teams that stand out...
Love your videos on Crosby, the 2015-16 one was awesome when you put all the different things with people doubting him and saying he’s no good then he goes crazy and then this one basically the same thing
Never had less than a Point per game season. Around the same age McDavid is now, Sid was on an absolute different level in 10-11 before his concussions robbed him of nearly 2 seasons. To come back from that, which a lot of people thought his career was over, just shows how hard he works and will continue to work until he hangs them up. Like the video says, totally disrespected
Sidney Crosby changed the game FOREVER. He changed how you train, prepare, how you approach improving each off season. Everyone else is just trying to keep up. Nathan McKinnon modeled his game completely after SID THE KID,
I don’t think anyone is disrespecting Crosby, they’re just acknowledging new top level talent in the league. Yeah Crosby is still great but after a while it’s kinda boring to talk about it ya know
Agreed. There were so many other "great passes not leading to goals" that I never included, because I didn't want to make this a 20-minute video. Just looking at his stats doesn't truly measure his greatness.
So much disrespect on Crosby. He’s still producing and playing at an unbelievable level at his age, and when he was in his prime, he helped carve the path for where the game is today and where it’s heading. It’s the same thing McDavid is doing now. Except Crosby has the cups thus far and McDavid doesn’t
Gretzky is a better goal scorer lmao , he's a way better passer and goal scorer than Crosby .crosby is actually more athletic than lemieux ,lemieuxs skill is light years ahead of Crosbys
Crosby was in a much tougher division and also 33 years old. Crosby has never played on the same line as a player like Draisaitl, just imagine the points he would put up
Best player of this era
McDavid is the best point producer in the game no doubt, but Crosby is still the best overall player by far. He does EVERYTHING.
You are wildin. Crosby is the third best player in the
League rn. Behind McKinnon and McDavid

He will never lose his unreal hockey IQ, he's always been one of the best playmakers in the game, if not the best. He's the most complete player.
Best Player in the NHL
Mcdavid is the best offensive player in the game but Crosby is the best player in hockey
Different talent so complete on every level is game has no weakness fast strong smart and is positioning all over they ice is second to none

Oh absolutely. Especially because he got eliminated from them on his birthday last year.
as a pens fan, not so far bro

Thanks for adding in plays where a point wasn't scored. A lot of great plays can get missed

The thing is, he doesn't care if he's the best player. Just wants to win the cup.
Let’s get him cup number 4 and cup number vi
